    the real question, does it fit on your wrist...

    • @VillyT
      @VillyT 5 лет назад +21

      Nope. Unless you have a thin wrist... And then it'll be a pain to put it on or take it off your wrist to wear it.

      @@kristin123a I "got" the question. Simply chose to give a serious answer instead of a joking one, because joking or not, it is a good question for all of us that have a tendency to slip hair ties on our wrists.

      I was thinking the same thing when I bought it. It just fits my waist but you have to wiggle it a bit. Would have liked it if they made it a tat bigger because I always wear my elastics on my wrists

    • @graceofspades48
      @graceofspades48 5 лет назад +7

      I read this as waist at first! 😂

  • @Elena-gv5wi

    I've tried this. I have soft, silky hair and the classic Pony-O slips off after a few minutes. For those saying that their hair is too thick or too thin for this, I don't think thickness matters. It's the texture of the hair that matters. I think courser hair texture will have more success with this.

    • @jlammetje
      @jlammetje 5 лет назад +16

      Jasmina Ah, not for me then. Almost everything slips right out of my hair :’)

    • @mrspokitstheriot477
      @mrspokitstheriot477 5 лет назад +10

      I do think thickness matters a bit. I have super thick, coarse hair. I think my hair is just to heavy for the ponyo to hold securely.

    • @ACWells13
      @ACWells13 5 лет назад +7

      Ah- I have incredibly thick and heavy, but very silky smooth hair. I was dubious that this would hold, and it certainly sounds like it'll just sag and slide. Thank you Jasmina, this is super helpful!

    • @ACWells13
      @ACWells13 5 лет назад +1

      Watching this video as well, I have to have my ponytail elastic on 4 loops otherwise it just slides out!

    • @Elena-gv5wi
      @Elena-gv5wi 5 лет назад

      Thank you for the input! For reference on the amount of hair that I have, I need three loops for my ponytail to have a tight hold on it. When the Pony-O was in my hair it felt like it didn't have any grip to it. I can see that being an even bigger problem for people with thin, so I thought a heavier/coarse hair type might have better luck. But it appears that this product may just be a gimmick.

    I really appreciate how thorough you were in testing these (only suggestion would to have waited like a week so you were able to comment on how they wore for a full day and had time to really mull it over rather than sort-of sticking to first impressions) - but yes, I would very much like to see more reviews like these :)
    PS. I love these collabs with your sister - it's an awesome vibe (and really helpful to see a non-expert do the hairstyles too - she's so relatable)

  • @Mmmeownie

    I have long, thick, slick hair myself and my favorite way to secure my hair while running or doing anything high intensity is using spin pins. I either do a bun with three spin pins and ensuring all three of them hit both the outside of the bun and catches in the "inside" hair as an anchor. If I also want to have an aesthetically pleasing hairdo while running (say during a paid race where you get photos taken), I do a french braid, tuck it all under, and then use 4 spin pins to hold in place. Nothing else except this seems to work as beautifully!

    I love my pony-o. I also have to say that Anna-Laura didn’t tighten it properly for her full pony. It NEEDS a sharp bend at each side, not a “half circle” shape. It won’t grip the hair enough otherwise.
    And yes, you should bend with both hands. One holding the middle, the other bending the end to get enough of a sharp bend to hold all day without pulling

    • @kendraklopfenstein5350
      @kendraklopfenstein5350 4 года назад +2

      Ashley Newell but the full sharp bends makes it straight across the front which makes it look weird which they complained about in the beginning

    • @iamashleymarie
      @iamashleymarie 4 года назад +2

      kendraklopfenstein it can, it’s done that about 1 time for me and I just gave it a tiiiiiiiiiny pinch and it fixed it without making it all fall out and lose its 10/10 performance.

    Im so glad your video does show that for long hair it doesn't hold. I have very fine long hair (and a lot of it), and bought this hoping it would help. Mine lasted about 1 minute before it fell out :( I thought id just put it in wrong. I will admit though, the bun bar you can buy through them has changed my life. My buns are amazing. Havent touched the pony o since though.

      I have a Pony-O, and I think it's much more gentle on your hair than a traditional tie. It does take a little time to put it up, but it's pretty good once it's done. My hair now is probably 30" long, and I don't get headaches when I use it. It's also nice to have a perky ponytail for once, since the weight usually pulls them down!

      I always do a low pontytail with my longer, denser hair and it ends up working well. Most ponytails either don't hold enough but are super comfortable or hold enough but have way too much tension which hurts my head. I find that the pony-o is the perfect middle ground :)

    Can we talk about what is going on with Anna Laura's look through this whole video? Normally she looks like a squeaky-clean girl next door, ain't nothing wrong with that, but this time from the moment she steps on camera it's like BOOM, major bombshell, who is THAT??? Is there some new makeup technique happening? Skincare? Is there a new date in your life or something?? (Kayley, you look chic with the new cut!)

    I'm have very long hair and I'm always trying to get my pony higher up and it not sag all I would prob like it for that but I also put clips in the back of my pony to give lift and keep it from sagging and it works well. Not big clips just some that fit under my pony. Glad to see this cause I've been going back and forth on whether to buy it or not.

    I love this video! I have heavy, thick hair like Sissy's and I had mixed results too. I'm still intrigued to see if I can use mine but it's still kind of an experiment for me. What was the scrunchie you said is the best? Do more accessory reviews pleeeeeeease? 😆

      Yes what!? I've tried looking up all sorts of scrunchie names that sound similar to what she mumbled and I can't figure it out. What is this magic scrunchie brand you speak of??

    I have fine, medium length hair and love the Pony-O. I finally get to wear a pony that looks fuller than it is. It stays in thru hours of yardwork or biking. Went back and bought more.

      I use the PONY2.O SLIM classic for fine hair. Doesn't slide at all.

    I was all set to buy one but I get a lot of headaches already so that aspect showing up for Anna Laura put me off a bit. Love how thorough this review is though! ❤️

    I've seen ads for the Pony O Bun Barz. Any chance of you guys doing a review on those? I'm not sure how they'd work on my straight & fine hair.

    I actually use lilarose flexi clips or hairsticks to keep my hair up, i only use hair elastics on the end of braids now. You should check out the flexi clips, they come in tons of different sizes for different lengths and thicknessess of hair. Of course I usually dont do a high ponytail either, but i do high buns with these items all the time.

    The half up looks really cute and fuller/perkier. Really makes me want it now. I don’t usually style my hair that way because i feel like it looks limp and the bobby pins in the elastic hurt my scalp. This may do the trick

    It works GREAT!! Did take me a couple of tries to get it "right" (hair pulling, bumps, ect.) but once I did it has been amazing. I'm a carpenter so my head of hair goes through hell in a day. I was loosing my hair from such tight rubber band ponies and I can loosely have the pony-o not ripping my hair out daily.

    I have tried these and they worked great for a few times. But then the wire inside broke and started poking through the rubber. Disappointing considering the price.

    I have these in 2.0 and classic. Love them so much. Though I use the 2.0 for half up half down and the classic if I tie all my hair up bc the 2.0 just doesn’t hold all my hair that well and sags after a few hours. That’s why I had to get two sizes. Lol. And it’s super comfyyyyy. Feels like nothing’s on your head.

    May I suggest using a silk scrunchy when you are at home. It pulls less, causing less breakage and creases. It’s probably not as tight. But better for your hair in the long term.
