Hey USOG, I never put two and two together to realize I was selling this shotgun to you! I am very impressed by your initiative to disassemble and reassemble the Sjogren. I take apart almost all my guns out of pure interest of their mechanical workings, but a 1 of 5000 gun is a bit too daunting for me to open up unless it's broken. Thank you very much for adding to the body knowledge on these guns. They are fantastically interesting. I'll follow up as soon as I can regarding the buttplate, I haven't forgotten!
Thank you Jared - yes indeed - "fools rush in" and that would be me in this case. On the other hand, I learned a lot and now know that the designer was someone special - the way the parts work in side is a revelation. I'm glad I got away with it. Look forward to the buttplate and thanks for the shotgun. Hope all is well with your countless projects. Cheers, Mike
Your Sjögren has the same magazine limitation as mine. In my example, it's been blocked to 2 rounds with a brass pin. I'd wager this was done to comply with some hunting regulation.
@@UnitedStatesOfGuns pretty common to dent/crimp the magtube on pump and semis due to hunt regs. The limitation gotta be permanent, the plug isnt used anymore

Great video 👌 I would really appreciate if you could help me out with my Sjögren actually! The one I picked up ended up having the incorrect screw holding in the action return spring. I believe the threads are messed up sadly. But I would really appreciate it if you could let me know what the threading is for that screw. Thank you in advance!
USOG Thank you so much! It’s a pretty horrible “fit”, they really gummed you the threads on the screw they did use. I look forward to hearing back from you on it! If you are able to give me dimensions along with the thread on your screw I’d be very happy. From what I’ve seen it isn’t a normal screw and has a thinner shaft at the end that I’m guessing goes inside the spring. Again, thank you very much! Very few resources out there!
Do you happen to know where I can find some parts or get parts made for this shotgun! Just got a sjogren a little while ago, I want some spare parts. Just in case!!
Hello TG - Sorry I have no source for parts. If something breaks on the old and scarce guns I usually get my files and a piece of steel and a good vice and start filing a copy of the broken piece. Plenty of time and patience required and sometimes special milling needed too. Congrats on the Sjogren BTW
It is more like the model 12 than you give it credit , the model 12 bolt locks on the top of the receiver and that one locks on the bottom of the receiver, the principal looks to be the same other than that.
@@UnitedStatesOfGuns it stems from me being unable to find a reasonably priced 1903 amd that they where produced by Remington i wanted to see how simular they are. Thank you
I'm racking my brain trying to recall a shotgun you sowed in one of your videos, it's harder to find and I think it's a Remington. I recall it has a unique recoil system that reduces the recoil by a huge amount, I think you had it stored in a green case. By any chance do you remember the semi auto that I'm trying to recall the name of...
Hi Mac - just vaults and a channel. With my work I just can't seem to get organized with a web site and the other web based things. I am on Instagram now though - just started.
@@UnitedStatesOfGuns Thanks, I really enjoy your videos, they are very informative and I love the very calm way humble way you present. BTW you inspired me to buy a Tikka 595 :-)
Beautiful place. City of bridges if I remember right. I went goose hunting in Carbi and a few other places in Saskatchewan; whitetail hunting as well. Great province - outstandingly helpful and friendly people. I'll be back. : )
Hi I have 2 Sjøgren. there is nothing wrong with your magazine. it is sealed to contain only 2 cartridges. it is the legislation in most of scandinavia.
Not için teşekkürler.

Hello, I hate to ask, but I've been hunting one of these shotguns for several years and it always escapes me. I'm a machinist and did some schooling for mechanical engineering, I would love to make reproductions. I would absolutely love to travel to you and take it apart and take measurements to do so. Or if you could point me in the direction of finding one for myself you would have my greatest gratitude.
Hell0 - Maybe I can send you this one - or at least the main components? Please email me at usogbyemail@gmail.com to discuss. Maybe we can joint venture on a limited edition.

I too will take apart a rifle, but only after much study.
this was a wonderful presentation. you are the best in firearm knowledge .
He sure knows a lot and presents it well!
Congratulations on this acquisition! Another cool one.
Thanks Doby - I have to give it highest marks - an amazing design.
In every video of your I learn something new. I didn’t know about Benelli cycling situation. I love the “trick and secrets “ part. Thank you!
I'm so glad Dimitar.
Another interesting video, thanks for sharing your passion with us.
Great video as usual!

Hi KW - I can't find the source - no pin - but something. I'll try again - you've given me an idea. Thank you.
Yes on hunting license shotguns there is a 2 plus 1 limit. On sporting license shotguns there are no restriction.

You do a superb job of explaining all of the firearms you examine! Your presentations are pretty well perfect!
Thank you Larry - I am humbled by your kind words.
I've seen pictures of these and always was curious about it. Thanks for the info, such an interesting piece
They truly are remarkable.
Brilliant!
I recently picked one up at a local auction. Cool action and quite rare.
Still have it? :)
As I discovered when I disassembled my Sjögren, there are a few wrong ways to take it apart that can make things very difficult!
I learned a lot putting the Sjogren back together. An observer said the shotgun is like Humpty Dumpty. Maybe so but he's back together again. : )
Another superb presentation Mike. I have been on Micks Guns website many times. He has a really broad spectrum of stuff for sale.
Great fellow that Mick!
Wow! This was great!
Thanks Lou!
You are the master of rifles
Thank you! At least something : )
That's a great shotgun! I like systems that are out of the norm but function beautifully . This is a great example. Would love to have one in 20 ga.
Forgotten Weapons makes a video, and everyone loses their minds 😂 only kidding, as always, great videos.
: )
Greener used to make a harpoon gun based on the Martini action GP shotgun.
How mucj did you buy this for... i want to sell mine but have no clue how much their worth???
Hi Alec - The Sjogren seems to change hands around $2500. - depending on condition.
Do you still have yours for sale?
Did the guy who built them start on a winchester 30-30 frame? It has slab sides on it and looks the same without the lever.
i got one who is in mint condition, what is a minr Sjøgren cost do you think?
You lucky man! I'd say $2500. and up.
Still have it??

I can definitely see where Benelli got their receiver design/shape from, maybe a tribute to the original designer?

That gun made me think of the movie man in the iron mask.
