This is the most inappropriate music you can possibly play during a BJJ match...

there's something weird about watching bjj with "trying to get to youuuuu and that booty" playing in the background

You are right man, I didn't really paid much attention how tight Estima controlled his collar and Estima is much much stronger than Marcelo. Now it makes sense to me, there was no way to posture up or get out, thank you, and sorry for my terrible english :P

At this point Marcelo has given us so many new techniques, methods and strategies in bjj . It's almost doesn't matter if he loses to guys outweighting him.
Marcelo single handedly improved all of our game and bjj more than anyone else that I can think of.

Thanks dude/dudette! That explains the first question. Hope someone can come along and clear up the 2nd one. :)

Monji very true. Dont' mean to take anything away from Braulio and everyone else who has given us so much great jiujitsu. We are a community together afterall.

I'm still totally shocked how Marcelo make such a huge mistake. I suppose even the best of the best will make ridiculous mistakes sometimes.

braulio's guard is unreal. i worked with him for a few minutes during a seminar this weekend. everytime i tried to posture he'd off-balance me and i'd tumble down. he was awesome technique and timing.

Braulio has been out for a while now, he is not new. Braulio was competing in the Worlds in 2001 and 2002 and he was pan am champion around the same time, he fell off after suffering consistent loses to Jacare in the semi's at the worlds on two occasions. Now he's back and on top of his game. Braulio's game was always nasty. He is a high level performer. He's just now getting back to where he was before he fell off.

he lost to Braulio the same year in ADCC '09... Braulio went on a tear in 2009.. was undefeated the entire year if i'm not mistaken..

MG's left hand was on the mat for a long time giving Braulio and easy opening to hit the triangle. I wonder why MG did that

I respect him for that..... his tenacity to fight larger blokes really embraces the bjj principle.

its how they differentiate the two competitors. it has nothing to do with rank. if two opponents are dressed similarly, the second belt makes it easier to distinguish them from each other

I'm wondering if MG thought BE was going for a gi choke with his leg, as I thought, and he did not expect the triangle, as I did too!

it's to distinquish between the two fighters so they can score them accordingly although they don't use them if the gi's are different cause then they become redundant

Marcelo Garcia's biggest weakness is when he's being attacked. If you watch every video Marcelo gets tapped in it's not by mistake it's because the other person is attacking. Terere, Cafe Dantes, Denes, Jacare, Roger Gracie, Cameron Earl, Drysdale, and Estima were all attacking at the time of his defeat
