But you no longer need to add the {{Recipient}} template string into the "To" field as the script code already takes the {{Recipient}} column fields and saves to an Array Variable to handle this. So you can leave the "To" in the email blank and it will still work.
It is January 2024. I don't have a mail merge tag. I've built my own spreadsheet and am trying to use the 'two people' icon on the "To" line to use the built in gmail method of mail merge with a spreadsheet. But trying both {{ }} and @ for the variable names, it doesn't work.
Can you set this up so there is a column for Attachments (referenced in Google Drive) so that each dynamic email has a file attachment as listed in the Attachments column?

IF IT IS NOT WORKING READ THIS: 1. click on the 3 dots next to the bin icon in your composed mail 2. select 'Plain test mode' 3. Delete the contents of 'Email sent' in your spreadsheet. It'll work now. You're welcome ;-)😀

It seems: {{}} tags in the body of the email must be plain text "to be read by the script". I also found when I copied and pasted from Google Sheets, some headings had additional spaces, they also needed to be removed (at the start / end of the field heading), the space between eg {{First name}} worked OK, but if it had {{ First name }} that was not read.
If you delete the "email sent" date stamp, it will send again, how about if you don't delete the date stamp, will it skip it or re-send the email? Just need to know a trigger to keep a log and not re-send all of them again, just the blank date stamps.

you need to use that spread sheet because it has a script attached to it that creates the mail merge tag. Just edit the sheet to meet your needs
Same here. Copying the file doesn't do anything either if you don't have the mail merge function on your Google Suite.
