+Nick Gotinga He actually has a fuzz pedal that he built himself. He actually sells copies of it. Look it up, it's called the SM Fuzz, and it sounds amazing.

+jlopez47 Oh yeah he does make those SM Fuzz. But I admire his thumpy but sweet clean strat tones. Not same as Mayer's for example, it's his tone.

+Nick Gotinga it actually has more to do with the fuzz pedal than you might think. He has the fuzz pedal on the whole time. it gives him a more razor sharp bite with the volume rolled back. the right fuzz pedal can make for a beautiful clean boost. Mayer has a more liquidy overdrive coming from his amp.
