So basically I’ll explain the 2nd nuzlocke for those confused so Jaiden decided to finish the game on her birthday and received some of the worst luck I’ve ever seen with crits killing four of her Pokémon immediately symbolizing those quick second disturbing images with that she knew it was impossible to complete the game from that point so her chat told her to restart because it was horrible luck and both her birthday and she completed it the 2nd time however she explains at the end she doesn’t believe she truly succeeded
And for some clairification on the third nuzlocke, both Dodrio and Bibarel are normal type, which would normally violate the “one of each primary type across both teams” rule, but during that game’s point in Pokémon, there were 0 Pokémon whose first type was flying type, so I think they made special rules for it. There are still a tiny number of Pokémon with flying type as their first or only type. Tornadus, Noibat, Noivern, Rookidee, Corvisquire, Corviknight and Cramorant. That’s one from Gen 5, 2 from Gen 6, and 4 from gen 8, the most recent generation.
THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS!?!?!?!? I assumed it was a loss but she healed and retried instead of wiping/restarting from the start again like most other nuzlockers do. But WOW bro. I think for her birthday she owes herself that gift at least. Just unfortunate.
@@abrarkadabrar7829 as far as I know, she didn't start over. Just retried the Elite 4. Otherwise she would have properly beaten the locke, only on the second try
@@ryanager8029 I'm pretty sure the rule was that one player can't use a type that the OTHER player is already using, but CAN use more than one pokemon of the same type on their OWN team. Bibarel and Dodrio are both normal type, yes, but were both used by Jacob, therefore it was allowed; only if Jaiden also used a normal type would it be breaking the rules.
1:05:48 regarding Jacob's short shorts - Jaiden was wearing the male trainer's outfit and Jacob was wearing the female trainer's outfit for that 3rd nuzlocke playthrough. Thus Jacob's short shorts are literally girl's shorts. Also, during the construction of their elite 4 teams for that run, All of Jaiden's Pokemon are shown with her yellow and black snap-back and Jacob's Pokemon all have his red and white hat
The reason the Shellos that she caught was a different color than the one you saw earlier in the video is because there are two different forms for Shellos and its evolution Gastrodon. The two forms are called East Sea and West Sea. As the names suggest, you find the different forms based on where they are located at in the region.
I understand the salt, but what jaiden did with shinx vs frostlass is a legitimate and approved strategy used by nuzlockers, called a "pivot." Normally, if you switch pokemon in the middle of battle, thats your turn and your opponent will just get a free attack on that new pokemon. A pivot is essentially a pokemon (may have been kept on the team with intention of "death fodder") that you let your opponent kill so you get a clean switch (without aforementioned "free hit").
@@azulesmalls5514 while I myself love and take Luxray to end game in all my playthroughs (even legends ._. ) I know a lot of pro nuzlockers/players in general dont think its good at end game compared to other pokemon. Which makes sense stat wise. So shes not the biggest fan of shinx it seems in general so it got the pass. Im sad but I understand why a lot of people end up doing it.
@@thebigmystery7841 That may be true and I understand that. But the issue is that the objective correct the decision would be to train the shinx into Luxray just so that it has better stats so that is works better as death fodder... But... this is coming from the guy that doesn't care about grinding and just watches youtube videos while I do it...
Well, it served it's purpose as death fodder so levelling it would have been meaningless. Even adding it to the team I don't see how it would have been any use in that situation.
1. if there's anything you are going to take away from Jaiden's nuzlocke, do not and I repeat DO NOT. DO. NOT. Play Platinum as your first, or possibly even your second nuzlocke. The game is insanely difficult especially for noobs, and has a LOT of BS runkillers along the way. I'd suggest starting with some of the newer games since they tend to be more beginner friendly, so AlphaSapphire, OmegaRuby, Sun/Moon (and sequels), Black/White (and sequels) or, if you want to step in Jaiden's footsteps, go with emerald/ruby sapphire and pick Mudkip as your starter. 2. Nuzlockes are great but can be confusing if you add too many rules, so don't go all out and start a randomiser nuzlocke until you grasp the concept of Pokemon battles, types/weaknesses, stats etc. and ALSO the concept of Nuzlockes decently enough to have a couple Nuzlocke wins under your belt. Randomiser is the one she did at the end, where you don't know what Pokemon you can expect to see next. 3. Read up on the gym leaders and E4/Champion (and the bad guy team's leader fights, whether that be team Rocket, Galactic, Magma/Aqua etc.), because not only are the rules of a Nuzlocke that you can't overlevel your Pokemon, your goal in the beginning is to have fun. It's no fun when you're losing and constantly dying to things you could have foreseen. That said, try to keep yourself engaged by not looking up random fights and planning everything out to the minute detail.
I have no idea why you would suggest either USUM or the BW games as good Nuzloche games for beginners. USUM are notoriously the hardest Pokemon games to date and the level curve in BW makes it a decent challenge for anyone unprepared. Everything else you said is pretty solid though. Just wanted to correct you in case anyone got the wrong idea and tried fighting Ultra Necrozma as their first Nuzloche.
@@Pokemonleafmon to be fair, I played Black 2/White 2 which was a walk in the park so I assumed it'd be the same as Black/White. My bad. As for USUM I assumed that the recent games were all easier to Nuzlocke as they'd have relatively easier mechanics (such as group levelling) which'd make it easier to Nuzlocke the games. Again, shouldn't have assumed.
@@kolapsg7748 were you the same level Pokemon? Also ORAS is decently easy thanks to Mudkip and a relative lack of grass types, but also because of the extra mechanics (team leveling and such)
What happened in the pokemon platinum nuzlocke with the whole alternate dimension stuff towards the end was Jaiden actually lost the first time she fought the elite four. She decided to try again and won but by doing so she also broke the rules of the nuzlocke.
@@YAH93 Wasn't it because she basically had complete and utter bs the whole time with nothing but constant crit after crit after crit? Cause if so, yes I would allow her another shot at the league because that's just pure bs.
@@vgmaster02 yeah, half her team was dead before flint and since two steel types and a grass type probably couldn’t beat a fire specialist the chat let her reset before even actually attempting flint. Honestly given how many crit deaths there were this run I’d say it’s a fair compromise.
As a recomendation on next pokemon video I suggest The legend of Twitch plays pokemon. Very interesting and to this day popular concept of twitch chat trying to finish pokemon games by collectively typing comands in chat.
@@phillipperkins8754 I don't have anything to say, but this is the only time I've seen a 1 minute old comment that wasn't my own in the wild before. What are the odds.
I'll explain about the second nuzlocke, with the "floating penny" pokemon. This Pokemon is inspired by the old bronze mirrors in Japan. His evolution is a bell, and is a reference to a legend, this one : In a village, the monks of the temple asked all women in the village to give up their mirros. One wasn't fond of the idea because her mirror was the only thing that allowed her to know she was pretty. When the mirrors got melted to make the bell, hers never melted. She got executed for her attachement to it and said that good fortune would be given to the person who breaks the bell. And so, people kept coming to break it, and the monks got annoyed and casted the bell into the swamp nearby, explaining the pokedex entry : "We can sometimes find this pokemon buried in the ground."
Concerning the death of Failure the Shinx, you guys should know that Jaiden isn't 100% to blame; she asked the chat before going into the gym battle which Pokémon from her box she should switch Kronk with, and THEY picked Failure.
The pokemon move sets aren't set to something specific depending on the pokemon. When pokemon reach certain levels, they learn new moves. And you can choose that move over another move or keep your old moves. There are also these things called tms which are one- use items (prior to gen 5) which have certain moves on them that you can teach certain pokemon (not all pokemon can learn all tm moves). Also, about how Gyarados can learn e-quake despite being a water/flying type, all pokemon can learn moves that are not their specified typing. Like if you have a Jolteon, (an electric type which is weak to ground) you would want to have a move on it that can deal with ground types like a grass or water type move. A pokemon using an attack that's one of it's types make it 1.5x stronger. This is called STAB (Same Type Attack Boost)
6:21 Battling other people has always been a thing in pokemon, but it was harder in the firsts generations (same for exchanging) edit : 29:18 bronzor is actually a mirror (like the twilight mirror in zelda twilight princess), it is based on a japanese legend edit : 36:05 shynx is a lynx, so it's more a cat edit : 41:23 pokemons can learn attacks that are not of their types if it makes sense with their styles, since Gyarados is an avatar of rage and destruction then earthquake and fire blast makes sense.
@@sawyerprince7304 the idea has potential but since shinx has none of the Sphinx attributes (the mythical one or the cat breed) it's not likely. The idea of a SHIny liNX makes more sense with the sprite.
Sadly, from what I've seen of Nuzlockes, it's practically a required strategy to use some of your Pokemon as cannon fodder to save your powerful Pokemon. I think it's part of the reason why one of the rules is to name your Pokemon. It makes it harder to sacrifice them, but according to the pros, you really won't be very successful if you don't. So sadly, moves like sending Failute to its death was highly approved by major Nuzlockers and would be something you may need to do if you ever tried to do one. It's like, the harsher rules reduces the game to a more chess like feel. Part of chess was that it was a training tool to teach strategists to sacrifice parts of their armies in support of a strategy that would ultimately help them win the battle. Sad, but true.
It's so incredible to see how different Jaiden and Alpharad play; Alpharad usually gets the most stupid luck and fails due to 'human error' and Jaiden plays incredibly good and fails due to the most bs unlucky moments, both incredibly entertaining to watch.
Azumarill is a legitimate threat. It's naturally very tough, and it gets an ability called Huge Power that doubles it's Attack stat, which makes it's damage output really deceptively dangerous.
For your question on why they didn't spacial warp Mewtwo in the show. It's because the pokemon that used that move was Palkia which is the god of space in the pokemon universe
Gyarados is an amazing Jack of all trades. I always give mine Earthquake, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt and a water-type move, either Surf or Scald, depending on whether I want him to focus on a single target or all targets. It can also learn Ice Beam, Crunch and Dark Pulse, and Dragon Pulse. Basically, it can take out anything that threatens it if it's fast enough.
Depends on the enemy Pokemon's bulk. Gyarados doesn't have the best special attack stat, so there are times it can get countered if you're not using physical moves.
Hey, what the ending in the 2 nuzlocke was referencing was that Jaiden fail to beat the Elite force so she went back to a save file before she lost and try again and win
there is no level cap for gym leaders, you can face them at any level you want to (though the games are set up in a way that you're typically at a decent level for them), and you don't need an emulator to battle real people online, pretty sure battling real people have been a thing for as long as trading has, it's just now the tech has improved enough that it can be done online...
I think they mean how some people play where other players control the ai players. I remember Smallant played through a gen 1 game where Wolfe Glick controlled the Gym leaders and E4.
Gyarados learned Fire Blast through the use of the Fire Blast TM. Also, Pokemon don't have to only know moves that match their type. Its a thing called type overage where, if possible, you might want to teach a pokemon a move or two that does extra damage to types it can't handle, like teaching a water type pokemon a fire or ice move to deal with grass types. Also in red and blue, you could teach Raticate Water Gun since it was a TM.
Honestly good ol' FireRed is a pretty good option for Nuzlocke. It's based directly on the very first Pokemon entry so it's not full of weird gimmicks, but it includes some fun battles that make you think about the special abilities pokemon can have. As far as learning the game, rather than a Nuzlocke run just do a No Overlevel run. In other words, look up what level each of the gym leaders is, and don't level your pokemon past them. This leaves you with plenty of freedom to catch whatever you like and just fool around learning what works and what doesn't, but also means you DO have to actually learn what works and what doesn't.
The animation is great and perfect for a lot of jokes, but when it comes to Azumarill... she's not joking. Azumarill looks cute, but it also combines some pretty burly physical stats with the possibility of having one VERY dangerous Ability: Huge Power. Huge Power passively boosts its bearer's physical Attack stat by half at all times. Put that together with moves like Waterfall, and Azumarill hits like a freaking TRUCK. Not to mention it only got scarier in games that followed, as it gained a new secondary typing (Fairy) and access to Belly Drum, a move that cuts the user's HP down by half and then MAXIMIZES THEIR ATTACK STAT on the spot. Left unchecked, Azumarill WILL wipe the floor with you. It functions pretty well as a tank too (as the video demonstrates) but its best utility is as a cleanup killer.
24:51-24:57 Officially most Nuzlocks start when the trainer aka you, receive your first poke balls since it is impossible to catch any other Pokémon before then and it is possible to have your starter faint before you do. Most follow this formate. However after the official start and you don’t catch any other Pokémon and your start dies then you lose and have to start all over again.
Just in case your confused why she threw "failure" to her death in nuzlocke having pokemon that we call death fodder is there to prevent major loss to help us have a higher chance at winning later on cause you don't want to risk your best pokemon or your absolute better pokemon then the one your throwing to the curb so we use other pokemon that may be ok or decent as death fodder to get our better pokemon healed up etc usually throws them out if our better pokemon are weak and in kill range Also don't know if someone typed this/told you the flashbacks on the platinum run was in her vod she lost to the elite Four and the split with two jaidens you saw was one falling meaning thats the jaiden that didn't beat the nuzlocke that lost and the other jaiden is the one you see In her non vod her nuzlocke video beating the nuzlocke challenge and game Ok another thing I should mention since your on the two player soul link so the pokemon she seemed to hype up Mew Mew two regigas lugia deoxys kyogre and the God himself jaiden mentioned earlier in that one is arceus all of these are rare and powerful pokemon their all are legendaries some of the most powerfullest pokemon in the series and game so her fear of lugia and kyogre etc and annoyance in not having arceus is just as they are mad scary to go against and would be good to have
The flashbacks is a reference that happened on stream playing this game, she originally died the first time from the elite 4 from BS rng, but twitch chat wanted her to try again bc of BS and she won the 2nd try but Jaiden doesn't feel like she deserved that win so she portrayed it here in the video
It's a mix between getting very attached to some of your pokemon and strategy, when you play nuzlocke you play on "set" mode which means the game doesn't give you the option if you want to switch pokemon in battle, when she sacrificed Hush Child it was bc she needed a "clean switch", means she needed a fully healed pokemon that could take out the enemy pokemon, if she just switched and her pokemon took a hit, it could've been knocked out and she would lose the run, it's a good idea to have pokemon with you that you're willing to sacrifice in case you're in trouble and things don't look bright for you (I had to switch into a random pokemon and sacrifice that one in my Shining Pearl, bc I needed a clean switch otherwise I would've lost the run)
31:18 that Pokémon has two form, based on their location. One is the east side and the other west side, due to on which side of the region they are from. They are basically the same expect for looks.
Yes, both you and your opponent can have the same pokemon species. Jaiden's Garchomp (named Flakes) is the same species of pokemon as Cynthia's Garchomp. Pokemon are like animals in the pokemon world, as as such, there are more than one of a single species.
Nice vid! If you're genuinely looking to get into a Nuzlocke, here's a few points to get an enjoyable experience: 1. Have fun! These are challenging runs, and designed to be more enjoyable, not less. There are also additional rules online called clauses (such as the Duplicate clause) you can add or subtract to tailor the game to your liking, the main Nuzlocke rules being the 3 she mentions (only catch first encounter per area, faints equals death, nickname caught Pokemon). 2. Type matchups. Knowing what types are weak or strong to other types, offensively and defensively, is probably the most useful concept to know. You don't have to memorize charts or anything, but knowing 75% or more will avoid a lot of potential mistakes. 3. STAB. Same Type Attack Bonus or STAB, means that if your Pokemon uses a move that shares a type with the Pokemon itself (for example, Turtwig using Razor Leaf), the move gets 50% stronger. This helps in scenarios where you can't hit something for super effective (which is 100% stronger) in a fight. 4. Pokemon stats and abilities. I'd attempt to explain, but it's better answered by Bulbapedia or Serebii. Each Pokemon has 6 stats, an ability, and moves they learn at certain levels. I don't think anyone could memorize them all, but looking up your Pokemon at least can help you understand their strengths and weaknesses beyond type matchups. There's a couple honorable mentions, such as knowledge of Gyms/Elite4/etc., making sure to grind levels, and knowing how difficult certain games are to Nuzlocke, but mastering the others will be the most critical to enjoying, and succeeding, at a Nuzlocke. Best of luck and have fun, should you choose to embark on a Nuzlocke!
1:11:20 the move called spacial rend can only be learned by palkia as he is the God of space according to lore and in actuality the mewtwo movie came out in 1997 or something but palkia was officially added to the games in 2006
24:50 techiclly the Nuzlocke dosent start untill u get pokeballs so before u get past the very early starting zone and get some pokeballs for free u can lose and just keep playing. However there are those that play with the rule that even if u lose before that point u have to restart the game. U might say it wouldent matter but it actully can becouse the starting pokemon dosent have the same stats every time u start a new game. So u may get a better or worse stat spread at the beginning for your starter pokemon.
Quick Gyarados explanation: in the original game Gyarados was originally supposed to be a dragon type but got changed to water last minute, but keep a wide variety of move sets. Pokemon can learn move sets outside of their typing but I'm pretty those moves are a bit weaker, especially if it like a plant type move a water type would be weak against. The big reason why Gyarados was originally gonna be a dragon type was to reference a Japanese tale where if a carp reached the end of a certain river and climb the waterfall at the end, it would turn into a dragon
21:15 - That kick was so massive it broke the laws of metaphysics and sent a shock wave into the room of the reactors. And y'all still wanna doubt the power of friendship. smdh
I've never really been able to do or watch Nuzlocke stuff except for Jaiden's animations. When you have a specific pokemon on your team for a long time, you get really attached to it. For those who are determined to always have certain pokemon on their team though.... Nuzlockes are really good for that because it helps you like other pokemon as well. This just reminds me that I need to do an actual Nuzlocke in order to make me like more than just my favorites
Shinx's evolution line is based on a Lynx with it's fully evolved form (Luxio) borrowing elements of lions, so yeah, Shinx is a cat in the sense that it's based off of felines
Gyarados is based on the classic dragons of Japanese culture. Although Gyarados' type is water / flying, he can learn a variety of moveset including: flamethrower / firebomb, thunderboalt / thunder, icebeam / blizzard, earthquake, hyperbeam, Giga Impact, grass knot, Twister, etc ... It's a versatile Pokémon, and has particularly useful abilities, and besides the fact that ground-types moves have no effect on him. His weaknesses are limited, (he only has two x4 electro and x2 rock, and both weaknesses are covered by the fact that Gyarados can learn earthquake).
To explain how the cat did so much damage to the onix, the big damage attak was Faint Attack, a Dark type attacking move. Rocks resist nirmal type moves while dark moves deal normal damage.
Already commented, but thought it could be interesting if no one else mentioned: The space cowboy is Deoxys. It’s a legendary from gen 3 that was born from an alien virus mutating in Earth’s atmosphere after it crash-landed in a meteorite. It’s one of the scariest Pokémon out there under the right conditions.
So, the "final boss" isn't a bad guys They called the 'champion' of Pokemon League, which basically the Elite Four You must, and forced, to battle the elite four before the champion The champion in the first video is Steven with Metagros as his ace, second video is Cynthia with her Garchomp, and the last is Lance...with his Palkia I guess So you know the basic of the journey, collecting badges from the gym leaders Bcz you must have all badge to enter Pokemon League/ the Elite Four You want to defeat the champion, but they'll be evil teams messing around and you must save the world or something like that
So,I wanted to say,you were sad about some deaths that made no sense(failure for example)but in nuzlocke, you'rd supposed to have death fodder to save the stronger one in case something happens. It's not because she wanted to,but she had to do it or everyone else could easily die. It's a practice a lot of nuzlocker does and it's totaly normal(I'm just explaining because you were salty about failure lol)
The thing is Azumarill can get the ability huge power which doubles it's attack stat in battle ex if its attack stat is 140 with huge power it doubles to 280 in battles thats why she said hard hitting.
For the record, the reason Jaiden's Turtwig/Grotle kept killing her catches was because its primary damage move is Razor Leaf, which has an increased critical hit ratio. Having a higher chance of the move doing double damage and ignoring debuffs to Attack and buffs to Defense is not a good option for weakening opponents. Also super-low level Pokemon like her first Shinx encounter are really easy to just bean in the face with a Poke Ball, you don't even need to weaken them half the time.
I once looked up which games were hardest to nuzlock and platinum was the hardest With shellos there are 2 variants that depend on where in the area you catch them. I think it’s like east and west. I think gyrados is like an honorary dragon type. He should straight up just be a dragon type
Huge Pokemon fan, first video of yals ive seen. Dropping the nuzlocke advice. The recommended pokemon game for a first time Nuzlocke or Soulink, especially if it's you two, is Pokemon Fire Red. It's friendly for beginners and explains a lot (for the lady who has never before played,) and features the Kanto region, meaning most if not all the Pokemon you encounter will be the first 151, which are the most recognizable (examples: charizard, magnemite, golbat) Second, here's some things about Nuzlockes they don't mention in jaiden's videos: - "species" or "duplicates" clause. This is a special rule (which Jaiden is using, but doesn't tell us so) that allows you to catch a different pokemon of your encounter (the first pokemon you find in an area) is one you've already caught. LOL and OOPS are usually prevented by the duplicate clause, as a good example. - If you watch pokemon players a lot, they'll usually mention the fire/water/grass core. The basic idea is that having at least a fire, water, and grass is a great start to a team. Since fire is a more rare type, beginners are encouraged to pick the fire type starter. But honestly, pick which ever one you like - just keep in mind the first gym. - the nuzlocke is not generally considered "started" until someone gives you Pokeballs. - the "modding" can be done using the Universal Pokemon Randomizer. I recommend version 4.1. - Instead of a Soul Link, you could do a race or cagelocke. If you don't know what a cagelocke is, that'd be a good next recommendation- and while I'm at it, I'll suggest an Egglocke, a Wonderlocke, and specifically the Artlocke's of Moxie2D. You won't be disappointed.
To answer your question at 24:50 , Yes. When the player completely runs out of useable pokemon during a battle, it is called "blacking out". And one of the official rules of the Nuzlocke challenge is blacking out is considered to be game over. So, she would've had to delete that safe file and start over.
31:14 Shellos is effectively a regional variant within the same Region. Conditions to the west side of Mt. Cornet are different (which is the side with the pink Shellos) are different than the east (The blue ones). IDK why it's only really them to be effected, but hey that's videogame logic...
I hate to say it but sacrificial pokémon in nuzlockes are must. You have to have one on the team in case you need to keep your stronger ones alive. It's sad but you will not defeat a nuzlocke without it. I don't watch these enough so I don't actually know if there's a no death nose lock but it's arguably one of the hardest things to do.
Honestly, I watched Jaidens Nuzlocks a ton of times now and the endings always make me tear up. Especially the D/P one. Even when I'm watching reactions I tear up. Jaiden just has this ability to make everyone feel the impactof losing a Mon in Battle.
This is so funny, because every other reactor I see covering these videos is a Pokémon player, so when they see a sacrifice mon, they’re like “good strat, very good play on your part” and these guys are like “your cruel! This is wrong!”
Basically why her Garchomp outsped Cynthia's Garchomp is because there are hidden values you gain by defeating Pokemon. By defeating Ponyta you gain Speed values.
Also Gyarados is a beast it has phenomenal coverage despite being water flying it can learn a move from most types. Golbat is pretty good but Crobat is phenomenal...
My first Pokémon card as a kid was given to me by a girl named Megan mars at day care! I became friends with her for years. But sadly(for me, not her) she managed to get into a private school for high school! The last time I saw her was at the open house of the public high school which is where she told me she was trying to get into a private school and she would be only be going to the same high school if she failed to get into the private school. It was sad finding out she got in. But I’m happy for her. She helped me when I had no friends at a daycare or in school. So I was glad she was able to get into what she wanted.
Not many people really bother with looking into the surprisingly complex mechanics within Pokemon's turn-based, Rock-Paper-Scissors combat system, and it's always fun to watch you guys learn about it, even if you only hear light summaries. Fun fact: people within the pokemon competitive community took the time (almost 10 years ago now) to calculate that the strongest attack you could possibly perform (at least at that time) would deal 481,266,036 DAMAGE. Which likely started the niche pokemon meme of "Don't fuckle with Shuckle" since Shuckle is the pokemon responsible for that attack, despite the fact that Shuckle does not have good attack stats by default.
on the last fight of the last nuzlocke, the azumarill (the water bunny) is realy a hard hitting beast that can be played in strategy pokemon matches the thing is this pokemon have a talent that simply double its attack stat, and having your attack doubled is pretty strong, (in strategy its often played with a move that boost attack to the max (remember, the boosts are doubled since its attack is doubled) in exchange of half the hp of the user and then proceed to one shot every opponent pokemon)
41:19 Explanation: Pokemon types don't determine their moves, just their Weeknesses and STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus). Each Pokemon can learn a variety of different move like how Charizard (A Fire/Flying type) can learn Solar Beam (A grass type move).
In Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum there's a mountain range that divides Sinnoh region in two parts (east and west), pink Shellos is from west side and blue Shellos is from east side.
I’m told that jaden streamed this run, and loss several times. So all those flashbacks jaden incorporates it into a tripp8ng cohesive story. I don’t think this happens in the game, is strictly a Jaden animations…..animation story
I know a lot of people have already explained the dimension rift and the failed run, but I'll explain the Cynthia fight. For those who don't know, the Sinnoh games are widely considered the hardest in the franchise, mostly due to the incredibly dangerous balance of crits (as we see in this video) as well as having the most dangerous E4 and Champion. Cynthia is an icon, not just because she's hot af, but also because she has the single strongest npc team in the entire franchise. Cynthia's garchomp is her Ace - aka her highest level pokemon, and the most dangerous. Garchomp is Dragon-Ground type, and is the games Pseudo-legendary (every game has one non-legendary pokemon with a 600 point stat total, which is higher than some legendaries). Dragon is super effective against itself (dragon) but its only other weakness is Ice. With Oops (carrying ice beam) dead, the only other team member who could do super effective damage was her own garchomp, was also vulnerable to the same. She didn't expect to be faster, but was because she'd trained the garchomp up against ponytas (what you kill effects what stats grow when you level up. Ponyta's give speed. Same thing happened with Zipzapzop in the first run - the marills gave it extra health gains). Basically, nearly every hidden and non hidden mechanic in the game came into play in that fight, and Jaiden didn't even know that she had the right tools in her arsenal, but she did. If she'd switched to her garchomp sooner, the others may not have died, but it all worked out.

@@abrarkadabrar7829 as far as I know, she didn't start over. Just retried the Elite 4. Otherwise she would have properly beaten the locke, only on the second try

Oh, i just thought the green one was a shiny lol
Wait seriously,i always thought was a gender difference ,the green One was always Male and The Pink was female
Yeah Jan was legitimately impressed by that strat.
Yeah, but leveling the shinx to Luxray would've been the strat regardless...
At least train it you know?
@@CaptainRickey You're totally fine. Just wanted to be sure any comment readers didn't make a terrible mistake.

What happened in the pokemon platinum nuzlocke with the whole alternate dimension stuff towards the end was Jaiden actually lost the first time she fought the elite four. She decided to try again and won but by doing so she also broke the rules of the nuzlocke.

I'll explain about the second nuzlocke, with the "floating penny" pokemon.
This Pokemon is inspired by the old bronze mirrors in Japan. His evolution is a bell, and is a reference to a legend, this one :
In a village, the monks of the temple asked all women in the village to give up their mirros.
6:21 Battling other people has always been a thing in pokemon, but it was harder in the firsts generations (same for exchanging)
edit : 29:18 bronzor is actually a mirror (like the twilight mirror in zelda twilight princess), it is based on a japanese legend
edit : 36:05 shynx is a lynx, so it's more a cat
edit : 41:23 pokemons can learn attacks that are not of their types if it makes sense with their styles, since Gyarados is an avatar of rage and destruction then earthquake and fire blast makes sense.
Dang, and here I thought Shinx was a cat because it was a play on Sphinx
@@sawyerprince7304 the idea has potential but since shinx has none of the Sphinx attributes (the mythical one or the cat breed) it's not likely. The idea of a SHIny liNX makes more sense with the sprite.
I never knew it was a mirror

Alpharad’s two Nuzlockes are amazing. Probably some of the most entertaining due to the sheer chaos.
It's so incredible to see how different Jaiden and Alpharad play; Alpharad usually gets the most stupid luck and fails due to 'human error' and Jaiden plays incredibly good and fails due to the most bs unlucky moments, both incredibly entertaining to watch.
"I insisted that it's weak to Ice, but..."
Yes, but he needs better friends…..especially Braden.
Azumarill is a legitimate threat. It's naturally very tough, and it gets an ability called Huge Power that doubles it's Attack stat, which makes it's damage output really deceptively dangerous.
its
Dude. Cynthia is the most feared Champion in history. Every time I hear her theme music I get goosebumps and a wave of fear.
For your question on why they didn't spacial warp Mewtwo in the show.
It's because the pokemon that used that move was Palkia which is the god of space in the pokemon universe
Also that pokemon and move didn't exist when the mewtwo movie came out...
Too bad you're only limited to four moves
Depends on the enemy Pokemon's bulk. Gyarados doesn't have the best special attack stat, so there are times it can get countered if you're not using physical moves.
DDance, Earthquake, Waterfall/Aqua Tail and Ice fang is my GoTo Gyarados set especially after the phys/special split.

there is no level cap for gym leaders, you can face them at any level you want to (though the games are set up in a way that you're typically at a decent level for them), and you don't need an emulator to battle real people online, pretty sure battling real people have been a thing for as long as trading has, it's just now the tech has improved enough that it can be done online...
1:11:20 Spacial Rend is a move that only Palkia can use, and he wasn't introduced until generation 4
Just in case your confused why she threw "failure" to her death in nuzlocke having pokemon that we call death fodder is there to prevent major loss to help us have a higher chance at winning later on cause you don't want to risk your best pokemon or your absolute better pokemon then the one your throwing to the curb so we use other pokemon that may be ok or decent as death fodder to get our better pokemon healed up etc usually throws them out if our better pokemon are weak and in kill range
Also don't know if someone typed this/told you the flashbacks on the platinum run was in her vod she lost to the elite Four and the split with two jaidens you saw was one falling meaning thats the jaiden that didn't beat the nuzlocke that lost and the other jaiden is the one you see In her non vod her nuzlocke video beating the nuzlocke challenge and game

To answer the question you asked during Platinum, if you lose the starter before you catch anything, but after you receive poke balls, you lose.
The flashbacks is a reference that happened on stream playing this game, she originally died the first time from the elite 4 from BS rng, but twitch chat wanted her to try again bc of BS and she won the 2nd try but Jaiden doesn't feel like she deserved that win so she portrayed it here in the video
It's a mix between getting very attached to some of your pokemon and strategy, when you play nuzlocke you play on "set" mode which means the game doesn't give you the option if you want to switch pokemon in battle, when she sacrificed Hush Child it was bc she needed a "clean switch", means she needed a fully healed pokemon that could take out the enemy pokemon, if she just switched and her pokemon took a hit, it could've been knocked out and she would lose the run, it's a good idea to have pokemon with you that you're willing to sacrifice in case you're in trouble and things don't look bright for you
(I had to switch into a random pokemon and sacrifice that one in my Shining Pearl, bc I needed a clean switch otherwise I would've lost the run)

Yes, both you and your opponent can have the same pokemon species. Jaiden's Garchomp (named Flakes) is the same species of pokemon as Cynthia's Garchomp. Pokemon are like animals in the pokemon world, as as such, there are more than one of a single species.
Nice vid! If you're genuinely looking to get into a Nuzlocke, here's a few points to get an enjoyable experience:

Shellos is a pokemon with two forms based on whether you caught on the east or west side of the region.
So, the "final boss" isn't a bad guys
They called the 'champion' of Pokemon League, which basically the Elite Four
You must, and forced, to battle the elite four before the champion
The champion in the first video is Steven with Metagros as his ace, second video is Cynthia with her Garchomp, and the last is Lance...with his Palkia I guess
So you know the basic of the journey, collecting badges from the gym leaders
Bcz you must have all badge to enter Pokemon League/ the Elite Four
You want to defeat the champion, but they'll be evil teams messing around and you must save the world or something like that
Huh, Lance actually using a real dragon type that isn't dragonite for once lol.
37:35 she had to kill one of them and failure was the best option so hah

Dude has too much compassion for digital pet, I'm vibing. 😂
bro i love this video keep up the good work!
I did a Pokémon ultra moon nuzloke, but I don’t recommend it because ultra sun and moon are pretty hard.
I once looked up which games were hardest to nuzlock and platinum was the hardest
With shellos there are 2 variants that depend on where in the area you catch them.
It's friendly for beginners and explains a lot (for the lady who has never before played,) and features the Kanto region, meaning most if not all the Pokemon you encounter will be the first 151, which are the most recognizable (examples: charizard, magnemite, golbat)
Second, here's some things about Nuzlockes they don't mention in jaiden's videos:
- "species" or "duplicates" clause.

As two people who don't know much about pokemon, I would LOVE to watch you two soul link nuzlocke. I think it would be really fun.
Wes getting emotional made me emotional, bro bond xD, but seriously
"The Elite Four are not bad guys!"
Well someone's never read the manga.
😬
So for thise who don't know. Yes shinx is a cat. Technically it's a Lynx but still a cat.
on the last fight of the last nuzlocke, the azumarill (the water bunny) is realy a hard hitting beast that can be played in strategy pokemon matches
the thing is this pokemon have a talent that simply double its attack stat, and having your attack doubled is pretty strong, (in strategy its often played with a move that boost attack to the max (remember, the boosts are doubled since its attack is doubled) in exchange of half the hp of the user and then proceed to one shot every opponent pokemon)
I can’t like this video enough
Thanks to Jaiden it inspired me to play Pokemon up to this day and I don't regret anything
I own the same wall that you guys use to record, and a minute 28 seconds in, I find that hilarious lol.
I'm on for the ride.
Out-speed clutch is crazy. Garchomp really a demon pokemon
These 2: nooooooo not the Shinx, he’s so cuuute
Also these 2: *doesn’t give the salute*
Me: wait, that’s illegal
There solution to the first Pokémon movie “all you need to do is call gods right hand man to kill a lab Pokémon”
You guys should react to Jaiden's other gaming based videos too, like her speedrun and Kaizo Mario videos
