    Had my Joroto for a while, I bought it to essentially create a cheaper Peloton experience. This bike is very study and REALLY quiet! Like Frugal Dad suggested, I have also bought a cadence sensor and clip-in pedals to make it closer to a Peloton bike; I have also figured out that it takes about 15 full knob twists to go from zero resistance to 100, so if they tell you in Peloton to be at resistance of 20, that would be about three full knob turns from zero. So far I’m very happy!!

    You can put the electronic box in one of the water bottle holders, especially since you lost one screw. We positioned ours near a window, so I reach over to grab my water. One of my daughters puts her computer up on the water bottle holders. It does not fall, but I'd be nervous...another daughter uses her tablet. My other daughter uses the television set to a youtube music list she likes. I use my smart phone with music. Just starting out, but after a year of isolation, we are all craving good workouts. The Joroto is stable, arrived in 2 days, was pretty easy to put together and is really quiet, unlike non-magnetic bikes. This was some of the best money I've ever spent and was a huge investment for my family. No regrets.

    Love the review! After watching Christine's video I made the purchase. I've always wanted a spin bike at home, but didn't know really what to look for. I sure didn't want to drop a lot on a bike like a Peloton. I love the bike, however... I'm a newbie and don't really know what I'm doing. I mean, I know, you pedal.. but... maybe... You and Christine could start some type of Patreon-like spin classes! :)

    I bought this bike after seeing that you guys picked it up and I love it!! No buyers remorse for me either, and getting the Peloton app is the way to go! I am going to add the cadence sensors, that is a great idea as I agree the computer that comes on board is fairly basic. I love this spin bike!

    • @FrugalFitDad
      @FrugalFitDad  9 месяцев назад

      Perhaps the larger seats are more comfortable but don’t replicate a ride on a road or mountain bike. The narrower seats are comfortable and can train your body to ride on the type of seat.

    Great informative and comprehensive video. In addition to the downsides mentioned, I would add that cheap-looking grey swoosh thing above the logo. How about black with a subtle red trim on top? Even though the spinner seems well made with a great magnetic drive train found on much more expensive units the grey just says nonstudio quality.

    You mention the bike "flexes" but isn't that because of the rubber mat coupled with the thick carpet and carpet padding? It would probably be much better on hardwood or concrete.

    on Joroto's website it says "Connect with the Peloton and more fitness apps, allowing you to stream thousands of classes directly into your home and compete against others in a virtual world that motivates you at every mile." for this bike. Is that not correct? I am just wondering why not use that instead of the wahoo. just making sure I get what I need. TIA

    • @FrugalFitDad
      @FrugalFitDad  3 года назад +1

      That's an exaggeration in marketing. The bike itself doesn't "connect" to anything. I think they are trying to say that you can put a tablet or phone on the handlebars and follow any app of your choosing. But there are no "smart" features about the bike itself. A Wahoo or Garmin cadence sensor can be synced to a watch or phone so you can get cadence (which most Peloton instructors use as a common data point).

    If I was to get a cheaper home type bike. What are your thoughts or options on a cheaper one.

    • @FrugalFitDad
      @FrugalFitDad  4 года назад +5

      Cheaper typically results in some kind of compromise. I've seen less adjustability for sizes and comfort (i.e. only fits 5 ft. to 5 ft 7in.) Perhaps lighter fly wheel or louder resistance. The worst compromise is typically cheaper materials and the bike ends up breaking or falling apart within a few months.

    • @SpringFlowers537
      @SpringFlowers537 4 года назад

      We bought a cheaper spin bike years before. I’m 5’7 and cant reach the pedals comfortably . My leg is way over extended, so basically it’s only good for my husband who has longer legs. Be careful on sizing it’s not always smaller, sometimes it’s too big. Measure your inseam to get you bent leg extension length. (It hurts to fully extend your leg when biking and so wrong) Also how long is your upper body, torso length. Another thing that sucks with our bike is that it doesn’t have the wratchet adjustment Dave talked about in the video. So this means I want the handle bars closer, but can’t even though measurement wise i should be able, but the adjustment knob hits the seat or handle bar and won’t go closer. Ughh! Just be careful😀
