Killer Zeppelin collection. How The West Was Won has the heaviest version of Over The Hills and Far Away that I have ever heard.
Still the best CD I’ve ever bought in my teen years. I can’t bring myself to spend that much on the box set though after already owning Mothership. But yet I wonder...
Dedd
I couldn't believe my luck when they eventually released it on vinyl.... WOW ! What a sound !
🎉yep, HtWwWon‼️4 disk set 🎉 lost , missing somewhere..
BUDDY YOU GOT A WHOLE LOTTA LED! Enjoy your stuff Mr. Noble!
Thomasgene thank you! Thanks for watching!
Big Zeppelin fan. Also really enjoy all the box set- and especially "How the west was won". Remarkable recording- and rock&n roll history!
Fantastic collection, nicely assembled!! I think the Led Zeppelin II Robert Ludwig pressing gives me the most joy to listen too. I had to literally go walk to my stereo system to turn the bass down quite a lot after the first minute of Whole Lotta Love. Always heard the recut for years but only a couple of years back finally got the RL cut off Ebay and it's the best $150 I ever paid for.
Incredible collection! Led Zeppelin has been my favorite band since high school. Loved seeing the zepp 1 with turquoise letters on the cover. Ebay notifies me when one is for sale. Haven't been able yet to pay that what they want. Absolutely enjoyed the show.
This is probably one of the best videos I'e seen in a long time. I'm beyond jealous.
I just scored a Robert Ludwig Led Zeppelin II for a great price, thanks for all the info on these pressings! I'm so happy to have a holy grail of Zeppelin records in my collection!
I just got a VG+ copy, after tax and shipping $325. I don't think that is too bad for the year 2020. I sometimes see VG+ copies fun up to $500 or $600
@@Brian-qg8dg Nice, have you heard the record yet? If not you're in for a treat that record screams no matter how beat it is
LED ZEPPELIN are also my favorite band! Gonna have to start getting their albums on vinyl after watching this. You have an amazing collection!! I enjoyed this very much! Looking forward to your next video! Good one Dillon!
Charles Amos thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
This was so cool man thanks for doing it.
I grew up obsessed with zeppelin so this was really interesting and fun to see!!
Absolutely LOVE Led Zeppelin!!!!!!!!
Corbin Williams eh, they’re ok 🤣
Love your energy … !!
Wonderful Collection..
I’m Hooked 🎸
Great video thank you love my Zep records!
Great episode! Love your channel. Subscribed. ✌️❤️🇨🇦
Wow, Amazing Led Zeppelin Collection! Incredible pressings!
Dodo child had me in tears 😂
Wow - this was super cool!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us!
Eight Vinyl Low my pleasure, thanks for watching!
As a big Zeppelin fan I’m drooling over these! Wow...this is an amazing collection you got here!
MikeGuitarPlayer07 thanks man! I’ve been at it for 20 years 🤣
Noble Records of what you’ve shown...the next grabs I want for my Zep collection is the “How The West Was Won” box set and the RL Version of “Led Zep II!” Yeah you’ve been collecting since I was 1 year old haha!
dude...
Dude!...
DUUUUDE!!!!!!!
This is wickety-wick-whacked wicked awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
And on top of all that, I see that Coltrane Atlantic mono box set in the background that I’ve been drooling over and dreaming about.
You had me at “Turquoise Led Zeppelin UK first pressing.”
Marlon Slater hahaha glad you enjoyed it!
Love this collection. Awesome.
Beautiful collection, dude. Zeppelin is and will always be my favorite band...if it comes the day you decide to part with your collection, I'd be first line to snap it from you.
Thanks for showing us all the different pressings and your opinions on the sound quality. It is fun to see all the possibilities.
Melinda Murphy thank you! Thanks for watching! I can get a little obsessed 🤣
Hey Dylan -- great job! Really enjoyed this, especially the breakdown on the different versions of I -- thanks!
thank you! Thanks for watching!
Great Zeppelin collection. I especially like the different colors from different countries and different labels. I was interested in seeing your bootlegs and video to see if you have a lot of the ones I do. I've probably got c.125 Zeppelin albums with maybe 80 to 100 bootlegs (almost all mint on vinyl from my crazy days of buying albums and bootlegs way back in the day from an underground acid casualty who had them. I guess I'm showing my age (54), but probably have around 8,000 vinyl and 1,000 CDs. I enjoy seeing your collections because it's a good yardstick for me to measure, cull and curate my own. Cheers.
Thomas Humphrey haha well it sounds like you have a killer collection as well! I’ll get the bootleg video up soon!
Thomas Humphrey 8000 vinyl!! Wowsers!! What’s the best record player you like to listen to them on? Do you prefer the older record players or the new Bluetooth capable ones that have been coming out?
I’m sorry for all the questions. I’m still trying to figure out my setup.
@@mariasalinas8266 Hi Maria, I have several very nice turntables I use. I use my old (vintage) Pioneer turntables from the 1980's; they are good and very dependable. I also use and would highly recommend Fluance, Denon, and Dual turntables. All are good, fairly mid- to high-end turntables that you can really use. I would, however, strongly advise against getting Bluetooth setups or any kind of digital turntables that record from or to computers as they can compress music too much and get away from the warm and natural analog sound that comes from vinyl and original master recordings. I hope this helps a little to orient you and steer you in the right direction. Cheers.
Presence, my all time favorite Zep release. Great stuff Dylan. I’d love to do the same with Hendrix.
Zeppelin is my Favorite Band as well, I'm lucky enough to have 2 RL Zeppelin ll's YUP they do sound the best!! Sounds like there playing in your living room if you have a "good" system!! Honestly! Amazing Pressing!! Awesome Zepp Collection you got there!!! Blow's mine away!!!!! Funny Zeppelin 3 and Physical Graffiti are my favorites as well for studio releases.
man that’s f**king incredible!! Led Zeppelin IV is my all time fav. ❤️ ( and II of course! )
李雨柔 they are all so good!
Love the video, I’m also a LZ fan and collector
Very cool Dale, we need to share- you forgot the LZ Physical WMET release & missed so many bootleg vinyls that are most excellent (some crazy expensive) Japan: OG label, & boots from the 1st tour (Super Stars!, Live in Japan '72 & In Concert), old labels in the US: like Cream of the Crop, Digger, Red Devil, the Jester Boxes (Songs for Swingin Mothers label that you showed) with the Tee-shirt, The Versyl printers with clear MVC (beauties), and of course crazy $ acetates
but it was cool to watch the video- thanks Paul
Absolutely awesome. I just subbed!
Thanks for the sub!
Great collection. Great video 😉😎
Thank you!
What a comprehensive collection man, congrats. I've been mostly happy with my Classic records cuts, but I do have a few others like some good 90s Japanese pressings (AMJY serial) and a few plum UKs.
poetryonplastic awesome! I love the plum!
I was waiting that you have Led Zeppelin ii Turkish Pressing with the Betül Atlı Cover. Its so unique
Gorgeous collection!!!!
Jam on Vinyl thank you sir!
I lived in Swansboro, NC in 2001 and Cape Carteret In 2015. My son and I drove all around east NC, I’m sorry we missed your record store.
Between those times in N, I lived on Okinawa for about 5 years. I remember going to the music stores and seeing some of these albums but I was more into CDs during those times. I kick myself in the butt for not purchasing them now.
That's an awesome Zepplin collection. I'm jealous! Japanese crossings always sound great, it must be in the water..
L
OL. I have a Japanese Devo record, it is in my box of gold. Keep up the great content player!🎶🎶🎵
Patty Kenyon thanks for watching!
Very cool!
Great video, learned a lot about Zeppelin pressings and it never occurred to me the reason why white label promos were so hot, makes sense, good stuff.
What a beautiful collection
Thank you!
Awesome awesome awesome 👏
Zeppelin is my second favorite band of all time. Such a great band
Hi!! Led Zep are phenomenal ! ( And I follow you as well on Pink Floyd) I recently heard about the polemic around the "rl " pressing of led zep 2. Cause I have 1 copy of RL and it totally overkill the other copy I own. By far!!! Yeah.. some of those can get pricey!! Great collection 👌 cheers, David.
David GUERRE thanks for the kind words! Thanks for watching!
Amazing collection Dylan. For me, Zepp is the best band ever. Love that turquoise and Taiwanese. I just started getting into their boots thanks to you so I am looking forward to seeing your next video on that. Do you have a fav song from them? Probably impossible. Enjoyed! Andre’
Linda Leg well... I really like the live version of whole lotta love they did with the blues medley. Apart from that, I really like the ocean. Hard to say for sure 🤣
The super deluxe Zepplin‘s box sets are pretty awesome also
I love your Channel!
Great collection.Got a query on the back cover of LZ1.A since deceased friend had a copy with a blurb about the band at the time and small Live Photo’s and I am sure it was turquoise lettering.Unfortunately the vinyl was rough and he wouldn’t sell it.Anyway I had huge vinyl collection with lots of Zepp rarities but I sold it to for a deposit on a house.Kicking myself
GREAT collection man! I was lucky enough to get a plum/tan Led Zeppelin 1 in shrink this year off ebay for $75 .
BlackAndWhiteBand wow! Awesome deal!
How The West Was Won is my favorite live recording of Led Zeppelin.
Wow that is a perfect collection of LZ studio albums on vinyl. Thank you for giving your opinion about the sound quality and info on the pressings i learned a few new things about the pressings you own. Looking forward to seeing more of your LZ LP collection. I posted a video showing off my LZ vinyl collection. Do you exclusively listen to vinyl records?
PearlJammer07 I listen to vinyl mostly but sometimes just due to convenience I have to listen to CDs and stream.
Awesome viewing , true fan for sure
thank you! Thanks for watching!
Noble Records pleasure all mine
record dealer came to my shop today with 5 boxes of records for trade, he really just wanted an original copy of Elvis Christmas album that I had, I got about 30 records from him one of them LZ II RL ( VG ) condition and sounds Amazing
I would actually say that the Atco purple/tan pressing is rarer than the one with turquoise letters, much harder to locate in decent condition and very few copies left out there minty. Nice collection (very similar to mine) so thumbs up from Sweden :)
Proper selection! If your into hi-fi analoque Led Zeppelin, id recommend searching for 2 track stereo 7.5 inches per second reel to reel pressings (NOS preferably). This through a tube preamp is the golden audio format in analoque. The vinyls sound likewhat a 4 track stereo 3.25ips sounds like, so superficially 4x the quality in those. They cost more than a proper reel to reel machine though, but if you ever run across those 2t 7.5ips reels id get em. Wouldn't shock me if you had some already :)
Wow, I would be interested to hear that comparison. A youtube audiophile did a comparison of DSOTM, the R2R did sound the best out of all the vinyl and cd copies. I am not sure 4x better, but that is an opinion
That thumbnail is amazing, any advice for getting into bootlegs and where to find them?
Edit: Led Zeppelin III is one of my favorite albums too, been listening to it a lot lately. Love that cover art so much
Slip Kid bootlegs are the kind of thing that it helps to know other people who are into it, so you can trade and sell to each other. Sometimes they pop up on eBay, but discogs has outlawed them. Good luck!
Super collection! Love the blue lettered Led Zep 1.
Where's Rob Paneeks? Can't believe he missed this.
margaretsville haha maybe he will see it! Love his videos!
I know what you mean about looking through all the records looking for certain LP's! I have about 3000 records but I've just got into finding out what led Zeppelin are worth. I think I've possibly got the turquoise writing one and now need to look through them all. I've got a lot of rare records. here's hoping! 👍❤️💛💚
As a teenager in the 70s Led Zeppelin was the ultimate rock n roll band.
Great collection and great channel. Zep is my favorite as well and PG my favorite record of all time. I have the CR pressing but that Japanese one of yours has my interest piqued. While I like the CRs, I think clean copies (emphasize) of original pressings sound better. Problem is finding them in good condition. So, do you have an opinion on PG: CR or your Japanese pressing? Thanks!
First time I've come across your
video I've over 300 Zepplin albums
in my collection ( 160 + bootlegs )
hope to talk soon & get u up to speed on your collection
great vid man
Kevin D Ottawa thank you!
Seriously impressive collection. Must have cost you plenty to acquire!
My buddy has the lp houses of the holy and when you open up the album it has a picture of the members of Bad Company.
What. A. Killer. Collection!! That thumbnail is incredible. Do you think you’ll do another video like this but with bands like Pink Floyd or any other bands? Keep it up!
Vinyl Finds61 I will definitely do one for Pink Floyd, and probably Grateful Dead. Those may be the only bands that would be interesting to see. I don’t collect many bands like I do Zeppelin
Noble Records I’d love to see either of those.
That Japanese 7" of Black dog/Misty mountain hop is so cute 😂
Aidan Wray Hahahaha I know 🤣
Dillon, You are missing white label promo copy of LZ 4 Untitled...But I envy your, Zeppelin, collection they are also my favorite band.
Great stuff!! Been checking my dads old collections and he seem to have some rare gems... One I have no clue about is Kashmir live album LP, but the label on the vinyl is all red. Nothing else. No text, nothing. When I google it, its grey with some text. What kind of odd Kashmir is it my dad got!?
No 2014 reissues? A lot of people say they suck, but I think they sound marvelous! IDK, maybe idk what I'm talking about! But my ears like em!
Vinyl City they sound good but I don’t think they are the best pressings available. I think the classic records pressings are, trying to get them all!
wowwww🖤
I am surprised you didn't comented or even have different covers for the in through the out door album, there six in total, the reason why they came in that bag. Cheers!
Great LZ collection Dillon. Have they sounded even better with your new Linn and system? Cheers.
Greg Johns they sound great! Thank you!
Amazin !
I was with Zeppelin from the start. At 70yrs of age everything thatcame out of Led Zeppelin i purchased. My favorite album is Presence, so much going on at that time with them it just seems impossible feat to get thatalbum done. My fovorite song is the song The Rover.Ijust have a thing for pirate ships, and apparently it is a take on the pirate ship the ,Thr Rover.Anyway i justreallylike the song.
Last year I picked a Zep ll double album tri-fold. Sounds pretty good I think - keep 4getting to look at the other details to determine what pressing..
I was my dad's awhile back & saw his Zep ll is single album & has SAXON HOTEL on the cover mid left side. Also has SAXON HOTEL on the label itself.
What's up with that ?
Hello Dillon, I just watched Thor's Vinyl video on the first Zeppelin album and which one sounds best. Knowledgeable guy. I picked up a "Monarch" US pressing a while back and still haven't listened to it. He said it sounded best to him. What I liked about it was the high-gloss cover, but he said it was a '77 issue. But I think I like your plum UK pressing best, always have preferred UK pressings to US. I also have a red/green later UK pressing that sounds great. That WLP issue of Zep 1 that you have could be the coolest, has anybody ever heard of a mono Zep 1? Cheers from Michigan. Check out Thor's video on the Zeppelin 1 album.
Both my first and second have the gold record award sticker and the back of one is orange still love them and didn't pay much for them
Mark Schreck yep! They are strong pressings. The US pressings sounds really good
For your life. Big Zep Fan
I like it hear the marvellos sound not only showing Ok? In speciali vinyl records.
Great video what equipment do you play them on?
Interesting how the presenter looks at himself on his device instead of looking into the camera lens while he's addressing his watchers/listeners.
This is an older video, I am not the best behind the camera but I try, Thanks for watching! 🙏
I have Zep 1, 2 and 3 on picture disks. I think they are Spanish bootlegs.
Oh ya, I also saw them in 1977 at the Pontiac Silverdome .
Serpent of Old that’s amazing! I would have loved to see them live! There are a lot of Spanish bootlegs, you’re probably right!
Hi! I just bought a Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti album and it has an error of two side 3 labels instead of a side 3 and a side 4. Not sure it’s a first pressing but it is older. In your opinion would it be worth anything?
I have a zep 4 which looks to have a 4inch blackout on the bottom left on back cover. SP 0 5sm2. R112014A 3. AA. Is this a normal version?Don't pay attention to the periods after the numbers inscribed on the dead vinyl part.
Winterland 8 LP Box Set in the background....
would buy it instantly if I had the money...
I wanted. Zeppelin 3. And only one I could find was a 1st press German but sound is great
i live in australia i bought all the zeppelin albums new as they came out and still have them...
lee holzmann awesome! Australia has some really cool pressings!
INSANE COLLECTION OF LED ZEPPELIN. 👍
Hey, what outer sleeves do you use? I'm struggling to try to choose a brand but based on how many records you have it looks like you've probably found what works well.
utub I use these:
www.musicrecordshop.com/sleeves
Zep II The RL version is and will always be the best version of Zep II. MFSL is solid, followed by Classic Records. I heard the 45RPM version rocks too, but since they only put music on 1 side of each record, they are prone to warpage.
Zep 1 1st press with turquoise cover and probably the first pressings with the orange cover sound wonderful. I would like to know if all the 1st pressing are the same, just with a different cover and record label???? Classic records is second best, followed by GP version in the 70's. I heard the 70's UK versions starting with a K are solid as well. I have a boring dull sounding 1969 USA version, I call it the CT version. I also have another version from the 70's that sounds great, but the record is all beat up.
Way Kool
Thanks!
Great collection! So jealous of that turqoise letter Zep 1...
About the BBC box set I have compared the original to the reissue and the sound on the original just smokes the reissue. Much better definition and bass. I also have two russian double LP sets on AnTrop label with Zep 1+2 and Zep 3+4. Funny thing is they changed the covers and photos. The stick man on 4 is some russian old guy for instance 😂 They actually sound pretty good oddly enough.
mrbigbeatthunder I used to have those Russian zeps too. Look closely at the zeppelin III, and you’ll see that all the images are different, it’s crazy. Also I actually have heard that the original BBC Sound better.
I used to have the destroyer bootleg (4 records) in a purple plastic box with a handle
alan james I have a few different destroyers but not that one. It’s always annoying to me when box sets don’t fit on my shelves, so I’ve never tried to get that one
Another awesome video. I got the live Muddy Waters Buddy Guy Howlin Wolf in that was a DMM repress. I would like to know if you heard a louder pop toward the end of track 2 on the B side. That is one of the Howlin Wolf tracks at 1:44. I ask because there was on this copy and on the digital recording that someone put on youtube as well had it. However, I'm not sure if that was ripped from the repress vinyl. I was curious if this was on your original copy of the record and therefore it most likely would have happened while the show was being recorded rather than just a very slight defect. I know you're busy so if you don't have time then don't worry about it. Thanks again.
Free The Press I’ll check and let you know!
@@noblerecords Thank you. Have a good day.
Free The Press as luck would have it, I’m at work and that record was already on my turntable. I listened all the way through twice and didn’t hear a loud pop. Not sure, sounds like a pressing flaw.
@@noblerecords Thanks for letting me know. It's not a big deal but I was just curious about the different pressings. I guess I'll have to pick up an original down the road. Have a good evening.
Have you ever seen the South Korean pressings of In Through The Out Door and Coda which have the standard Atlantic Green/orange label versus the Swan Song Label? I picked them up and to my surprise they sound amazing, and look very cool!
BlackAndWhiteBand I haven’t. Sounds cool tho!
For In Through the Out Door why not have all the copies with the varying covers?
So I have been purchasing the George Piros masters being told they have the best sound per value. I wonder if any truth to this.
The 45 rpm of physical grafetti by classic records is my favourite.
how many records are there, 8? hahah
I've got an original US copy of physical graffiti that has the label for song remains the same on the first record (plays the correct songs for PG, though).
In Through The Out Door - I was hoping to get a bit more info about the album. Are the brown bag covers more valuable or rare? They seem to be priced that way. Just wondering, thanks and great video!
Chris S. The ones with brown bags are worth more because they all originally came with the bags. They aren’t worth a ton but really neat to find
Show off.....
I think every Zep album I ever owned went to you at some point...
The bootlegs video may be Godfather-esque in length...LOL! You may wanna give it the "Peter Jackson Treatment" and squeeze as many out as you possibly can. Like 4 3 hour movies or something....LOL!
Great stuff man, and question....who has it worse....me for original jazz or you for any and all things Zep? I'll letcha marinate on that one for a bit....;)
Tunes From The Man Cave hahaha I guarantee you that I could buy 20 bootlegs for the price of one of your more valuable blue notes 🤣
@@noblerecords for one of my more valuable ones you are probably right as long as you are buying the more common boots! LOL!
Tunes From The Man Cave
Why is he a show off ?
He spent his hard earned dollars on good music
Jealous much ?
Robin Alexander haha he was kidding. I always call him a show off 🤣
Robin Alexander see Dillon’s comment. I guess you couldn’t possibly have known this but Dillon and I have been very close friends for a decade. We rib on each other all the time. He calls me a show off for talking about my original jazz, I call him a show off for his awesome Zep collection, rare psych, and awesome MOFI collection. Just a couple of buddies giving each other a hard time. Jealous is definitely not the word I’d use to describe how I feel about Dillon. More like proud. Proud of the great husband and father he is, proud of his success, and most importantly...proud to call him my friend. Again, you couldn’t have known this so no hard feelings at all.
Wow you have a Canadian Atlantic red label pressing of Zeppelin I, impressed. I think easily one of the best pressing I'm familiar with, and the first copy I got of the record (this is like 35+ years ago), thumbs up. Oh and Classic Records suck cause they use a digital source. I had a Classic 200 gram pressing of Zeppelin II, it was horrible, cept I was running a Linear Tracking table, still am.
All the Classic Records are fully Analog cuts, what are you on about?
