- This video will hopefully answer the question of how to correctly pronounce Wuque!
- This video took way too long to edit/upload. Since Nationals I've been on 2 vacations, started school, had family over from out of state, and also I accidentally deleted the edit for this video after finishing half of it. :P

Funny video! As someone who has been learning to speak Chinese for several years, these cubers who pronounce WuQue as anything but Woo-Chwei make me cringe so hard. You should do one of these videos for the names YuXin, WuXia, and a few others XD

Wootsweh is most correct, but the pinyin character "q" makes a sound that is not required in English, so native English speakers may not be able to make it. No combination of English letters can accurately represent the sound it makes.

No it's not. It's a voiceless alveolo-palatal affricate [q] which is directly inbetween the voiceless alveolar affricate [ts] and the voiceless palato-alveolar affricate [ch] which we know in English. The palato-alveolar affricate [ch] is used more commonly instead of the alveolar affricate [ts], because there technically isn't an alveolar affricate [ts] in English, but instead, a consonant cluster with the voiceless alveolar plosive [t] and the voiceless alveolar fricative [s] involved.
TL;DR
It's a softer ch sound then we have in English. Wootsweh and woochweh are equally far away from the correct pronunciation. Neither is more correct than the other. The main concern is the vowel at the end of the word.

Lou Butterfingerz however, i just noticed that he pronounced the "wu" as normal wu whereas in chinese it's supposed to be a silent w. Maybe his pronounciation is kinda affected because he's mostly talking english there? Lol (I'm indonesian btw)

To the American ear, they both sound almost exactly the same, so I categorized them as the same spelling.
