What people from the west hear from their home country & experience for themselves in China is the direct opposite. I'm from S'pore & in my opinion China is way advanced , peaceful & progressive than many if not all western countries. Mutual respect & not arrogance is the way to peace.
Na.... You don't sound local born Singaporean, maybe new immigrant. Try bringing them to the rural areas and 城中城 and ask for feedback. That's the real China !

说到杭州美好吃的我就很有意见了，你们吃的太游客了，是找不到好吃的，不知道为什么杭州都被外地人开的餐饮店给占领了，要吃杭州本地好吃的，得自己找，早上可以去吃游埠豆浆买点豆浆，烧饼，油条，豆腐脑，芳春买几个煎饺，周萍粽子店，大马弄的菜场还有几家卖甜酒酿的也还可以，这些都在中山南路，小时候吃的东西，再稍微远一点点城头巷这里，宝美点心，素勤，金鱼小酒馆，河坊街也有啊，清河坊公交车站有一家卖葱包刽的不错，往西面走走，有个龙翔臭豆腐的。杭州人吃面也吃的很多，像建国路方老大，复兴路的小狗儿，邮电路的无名氏，福华园过桥米线。杭帮菜也很多，不过好吃的难约，而且贵，像金沙厅，桂语山房，蟹香楼，这几家估计会有些上月底公布的杭州米其林，价格亲民的呢还是游客吃的多，口味会有点跑偏，总觉得还是家里烧的好吃，像四灶儿，23号墙门菜（对杭州人来说可能稍微有一点点咸），蓝边碗（以前还好吃吃，搬了地方水平下降厉害），甚至叶马也勉强可以吧。还有知味观，猫耳朵啊，素烧鹅啊，小笼啊，还有新丰，小笼啊，馄饨啊，包子啊，还有等等一下子没想道的，包你们一个月每天吃到不重样。
