From our point of view it's quite nice when people have a go without prior guidance, this way we can test how user friendly and well we designed the software! Ahah yeah coincidentally we released our videos just a few days apart, we definitely appreciate the independent review though (especially when they're as good as yours!!).
Thanks for your comment @jankoszuta9835! Yes, you can add an Aga as 'other' in the heat emitter in the heat pump task, and modelling ducted air systems can be done but it's best to email help@heatpunk.co.uk for support with this. We're happy to help and look forward to hearing from you.
Is there an option to model a chimney? Also, I put in a postcode at the start of the project, it recognised it, but now can't set a party wall, as it ill only accept a UK postcode
Hi Kieran, a chimney should be taken into account through the air changes of a room. Section 3.5.4.4 of the CIBSE domestic heating guide covers the considerations to be made. Currently the software is based on the UK, so the ODT used for the heat loss calcs are based on region in the UK, and the altitude is factored into this automatically also based on postcode. It would be possible to use a generic UK postcode and then manually adjust the ODT to the needs of your location.
or save function ftm - the autosave definitely not sufficient. if you make one mistake it's ridiculously irritating to try to fix, the dimensions are finicky and placements clunky, it ignores data that's put in and comes up with it's own numbers, also changes dimensions you've already put in somewhere else when you change a different adjoining wall, no function to select the side you want changed. Also, why no option for underfloor heating? Software seems completely unfinished. It's no adobe, that's for sure.
Hi Lisa, there isn't a specific undo button, but any of the pink coloured handles of a room can be deleted and the walls will snap back to where they should be without deleting the whole room.
@@Lisa-tz2th Thanks for your feedback. Auto-saving will happen every 30 seconds and a force save can be done by changing tasks. There is a function to select which side you want to change when specifying wall sizes, it is based on the point that you click to see the dimensions. Heatpunk will always move the wall from the point you have clicked when manually entering sizes. There can be instances where it ignores the value you have entered if this conflicts with the way it is connected to other rooms, you just need to make sure you have allowed the space for it to move into. Underfloor heating is included in the heat pump section of the software, there is a video guide in the help section that covers this. There are also free training session that can be booked via the help section and would address the points that you have raised.
@@Heatpunk have had more practice with it now and while the initial annoyances do lessen with experience, a manual save would still be appreciated because I have still lost work because the save function was not sufficient. As well as the undo, because when trying to work at pace going back and moving the dots is irritating beyond words and deleting something you don't think you need only to need later or try out different room shapes because something in the house is a bit unusual means some times trial and error is required which would be a lot easier if you could undo - even better if like in Photoshop you could see a history of steps.
I managed to put in my entire property without ever clicking a corner, so at no point could I see the scale. A quick help guide would have saved me a load of work
Thanks for your reply! There is a section of shorter video guides in the help section of Heatpunk that give a good range of pointers. We also run free training sessions for anyone looking to get up to speed with the software.
Thanks for your comment. The plans are available as part of the heat pump design report which can be downloaded as a PDF from the report section of your project.

fantastic! heatpunk software is free but they point you towards their own suppliers. Great business model. (unlike Residence Collection who wouldnt tell me what size shims to use under some windows I got on ebay because its a trade secret they only share with their installers ! moan moan )
Just spotted this video. Hadn’t realised you had done one just before me. Definitely should have watched this first. Good vid! 👍

This looks awesome! Can i model a ducted warm air system? Can i add an Aga to the kitchen as an emitter?

Will there be any issues if I dont have an EPC report number available to include ?

I have this on max volume and it's still really really quiet, does the video not have sound?
Why is there no undo/redo function?
