I bought the app then returned it. I was not as enthused with games taking only 10 minutes and not really ever caring what my opponents did. Took the charm out of the game. I might come back if the expansion is released in the future and it goes on sale.
Great comment. I've always wanted to play this game since I got into board gaming but never had anyone to play with. I was thinking about it but if the tutorial is good then I'm sold.
I love the app, but I also would prefer to play the physical game. And I am glad to have been a beta tester of the game. It let me see the development of the game and see when the bugs hit. I'm glad that the developers did a better job than what happened with Terraforming Mars. Agree with the rating. I think that I have won about a quarter of the games I have played vs three medium AIs. I feel that it helps me look at better strategies.
I really enjoy this app, but I agree that the AI plays too fast. I'd like to see an optional tap-through mode for the AI's turns. However, there is a turn-by-turn log file readable through the options menu (the icon is an actual log). As for "flair"--it's cards and dice. There's only so much that could be done without making it obnoxious.
I agree with you on both the app and the board game. On this video TOM IS NOT WRONG! Another plus is that on Android it's in my GooglePlay family library, so my son has access too. He can't stop playing the app (practicing to beat me for our next board game).
"A really good app for 2015" it is the subtleness of the burn that makes it the most effective

Yeah all fine and dandy Tom, but does it have a tutorial and is that any good if you have never played this game?
Yes it does, and yes it is.

I love this app. Great implementation of the game. I think I may like the race for the galaxy app a little more.

I've beaten the medium AI once (with 4 AI players) out of 4 games
Asynchronous, online play... Does it have notifications? (That's the one of the really bad things about Race For The Galaxy app.)
Kinda pricey for not being flashy
