Chairs without armrests would probably look less cluttered and be easier for your guests to get in and out with the added benefit of being more comfortable than stools. So happy for the bonus vlog. I love TSG vlogs! ❤
100% agree. My back actually told me to write this. Stools and benches are fine when you have kids but not for adults for any extended amount of time.

If you do end up getting stools for the nook, maybe have another option just in case a guest has chronic back pain like myself. Stools are murder for me, and I'd appreciate even a cheap folding chair.

The sink behind the toilet thing is pretty much found only in jails here but is more common in places like Japan. It really is a shame too because the water going into your tank is fresh clean water with every flush so why not get used to wash your hands so that it at least gets used for more than just a flush. I think there are retrofit kits so you can put one on top of an existing toilet.
in Singapore, we have sinks behind our toilet bowls in new housing developments which are optional for home owners to keep. so it’s funny yet relatable when Kelsey pointed out about how those were good designs for small bathrooms. because our bathrooms are getting tinier here!!! 😂
Also a great idea for multiple people to get ready if they are more people than bathrooms
noooo I love those chairs at the kitchen table! Theyr're like the perfect amount of vintage! But also I get not wanting things to feel clunky in a high traffic area.

So, back in the 90’s, my mom made a Barney costume!! Sewed the body and papier-mâchéd the head!! She did all sorts of parties…this brought me back!!!

When I had a cleaning person coming into my house I would always tidy up first. Then they could clean with ease. GReat Barney costume, lol. Too cute
My parents live 2.5 from me. Also, my dad grew up in Cobourg. When we drove from Manitoba to Ottawa. On the way there, we stopped and he showed me where he grew up (the water well is red, and he painted it) and he took me to where my grandparent are buried in Union Cemetery:)
The Barney costume was hilarious. My son loved Barney. I took him to see Barney live! with my mum when he was 4. On the way out, I said jokingly to my mum that I suspected that it wasn't the real Barney but just a guy in a Barney suit. The women behind obviously overheard as one turned to the other to ask if they thought it was true and if they had been conned- paying to see Barney and not getting the real Barney

We used Barney episodes to measure time too! I remember long road trips and our mom would say “8 more Barney shows” 😂 my sisters and I still jokingly use it to tell time

As far as the chairs in the kitchen. They are an interesting design, but I do agree that they clutter the space. They also don't look very comfortable. I would say stools or folding chairs, which you can put away when not needed. You don't really need to have chairs there at all times. You'll have more space to move, and it won't visually clutter the room. If you can find a nice wood folding chair too to put out during get togethers all the better.
yeah we found when we visited Legacy Vintage that it was a bit beyond our price range....but so much fun to go thru....there is something around every corner...

I wanted to do those ceiling tiles in my bathroom but SO expensive! I found an awesome product at Home Depot called A La Maison Ceilings. I used the Bourbon Street pattern. It turned out beautifully! Wish I could show you a picture!

I don't recommend replacing chairs with stools for your kitchen table. I used to work at a restaurant years ago that was supposed to mimic an English pub. So the seats against the wall were banquette style, but the ones in front of them were low, cushioned stools. And even though they were quite comfy, people would whine all the time about them not having a back or being proper chairs, and if we had chairs to swap them out with so they could lean back like the other people against the wall, etc. Tbh, I liked the style of chairs you had previously, as they were simple and didn't take up much room like the vintage ones.
You should make some custom pillows for those chairs! maybe also a pillow back rest, idk!

Those brown chairs remind me of a renaissance fair restaurant. If you painted them black or sanded them to their natural wood and sealed them, it would work better with your kitchen.

I’d lose the chairs! Buy folding chairs that can be stored when not in use. They make upholstered wood ones that are very comfortable. Or slip covered ones??
That's just a normal disktrasa, we all use them all the time in sweden..what else do people use?

We explained time to our kids in Barney and Arthur. Barney was half an hour and Arthur was 15 minutes.
