    Ellipse general equation
    xsq/asq +ysq/bsq=rsq
    right mam?

Close! The general equation for an ellipse is x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 =1, where
a and b are the lengths of the semi-major and semi-minor axes, respectively. The term r^2 isn't typically used in the standard equation for an ellipse. Hope this clarifies!
