I've just finished doing a gasket refresh rebuild and full interior refresh of a Chimaera 400 that I acquired earlier this year that had been sitting in storage for years. It was love at first drive and a pleasure to work on. Parts are a bit tricky to come by here in South Africa but totally worth the hunt. Brilliant cars. I had a laugh when the door pulled a character on you in the beginning. Love it.
Same wheel base as a Mazda MX5, same HP as a 911 but 500kg lighter. I love driving them on steep winding roads. They are fun at any speed and not slow. Zero to 60 in 5 - 6 seconds was dam quick 25 years ago!
I am pleased that you enjoyed it - TVR was a superb unique company, as are their cars. The spreading of jealous rumours by the unnitiated re reliability has kept prices down for enthusiasts to enjoy them. That will all change in a few yrs as cars become more and more sanatised. Cars like the legendary Griffith will sky rocket in value ;)
These are drivers cars….no drivers aids. You have to know what you’re doing to drive them fast. Once had a race in my old Chimaera with a guy in a skyline who span off at a roundabout…….😂 his girlfriend was going nuts in the passenger seat…….driver experience over technology 😂😂😂😂
My dream car. Recently sold my MGRV8, waiting for the right colour for me TVR Chimera.
Whats you right colour?
@andrewmoore2706 Dark Navy Blue with matching Duck dark blue hood.

Nice little review Kev, I’m a sucker for a Cerbera myself.

Such a great little car 👍
Don’t believe the bhp figures though……all owners know they are ‘massaged’
Great video and a lovely car. But if it is a 93 then the front end has been changed to that of a later model.
The instrument surrounds as well.
TVRs are the best cars... in the world! Safety features include brakes and enough power to get you out of scrapes :)
🤣🤣🤣 agree 👍
Very nice 👌
I have a Chimaera and its a great car. I reckon they are seriously undervalued so definitely worth a look for a fun 2nd car
There great cars! Smiles for miles 😊👍
I have a 4.5 Chimaera as a second car. My first car is also a 4.5 Chimaera.

Wow excellent 👍
She is a TreVoR just like mine .😊😊😊
Has a later front end must have been in a smash .
Hvor meget kostede afgiften?

A five-litre engine.
In a car the size of a shoe.

They came with 4, 4.5 and 5 litre engines.
Just take a bit of learning…..you need the mindset of a bike rider….always aware of road conditions, grip levels, and your driver inputs
