If you close your eyes while listening to this it’s like listening to young JR and old JR at the same time
Lmao
Yesssss….you can feel the wisdom though.
And old JR sounds like he's the older brother of Dave Ramsey.
Read my mind.
Dammmm 😂
Goldust was lady gaga before her
😂😂😂😂
Lol
I'd be more worried on who Vince is Rubbing up on
He said don't rub up on anyone ON TV. Vince probably thought he was helping the guy out.
At that time I’m sure it was only Hickenbottom(Michaels)🤣
Lol
It's crazy how people believe lying l ass woman.
Right? Vince was probably jealous he wasn’t getting rubbed up on
Its crazy that Jim Ross still smokes with all the health issues he has now
JR smokes? What does he smoke outside of ribs, of course?
Its too late now...He knows when the clock stops ticking nothing can be done now
@@tylermcnally8232yeah, after a certain age people stop caring. Just let him enjoy whatever he’s got left. After a certain age you know you can be gone at any minute.
@@Sularus92 Probably Marlboro.
In his bedroom aswell 🤢
I thought that Goldust supposed to be a creepy, sexually inappropriate character.
he is and Dustin did the role as intended
I thought Golddust was supposed to make sure I could never watch wrestling with an eye shot of my family
i said within. I fucking love voice to text. How is AI ever going to take over the world when voice to text? Can't even tell what the fuck I'm talking about.
@emilyanderson9559 😮😮 I always just text even then it's crazy. Spelling chit that don't make sence🤨🤨🤨
So would you want your co worker rubbing up on you?
On a house show in MSG, gold dust told Savio Vega he loved Puerto Rican men 😂
He does love sucking on there big sausages & swallow there
cream & drink from the Tap
😆😆😆
"Goldy, if you want to do that stuff me and Pat are going to Chucky Cheese later, try and be a professional" -VM
🤫
Of course Vinny Mac wanted the rubbing to stop because Vinnie Mac doesn't like competition.
"IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!"
😂😂😂
2:35 "That was a specific mandate" I bet Goldust would have fun with the term "mandate" in a promo!
Underrated comment 😂😂😂
My favorite comment. Very clever.
@@savagecatgt is it?
Seeing J.R smoke a cigarette don't feel right.
Why? You don't even know him.
@@Rjensen2 neither do you dumb ass
Vince should be the last one concerned about others being inappropriate .
It was probably network executives complaining. They complained about DX and their stuff in comparison was tame.
Especially with Patterson slithering around backstage
Did you even listen before speaking? Obviously not. Typical mark...
@@TheFinalBossEngaged I'm sorry, who are you?
Dustin is a tough sob with a dip in his lip who took the role of a flamboyant charismatic character. He took it seriously. If this was an issue, then talent should have let him be himself. The point is if you're gonna ask a man or woman to play a role, don't complain when they do it well.
Great point
It depends on the roll. Hawaiian rolls, then yea....to the fullest. Yeast rolls though, not so much
🥴🥴🥴
One of the greatest characters ever! I remember when I was a kid, absolutely repulsed by him hahaha so creepy. Looking back now, absolutely brilliant!!
Didn't make me want to watch. stalkers aren't entertaining, gay or straight
@@JeffSayYes oh listen to her
Goldust rubbing up on Savio Vega was pretty funny though.
Which was 100% Savio's idea according to Dustin.
@@Rockhound6165 Yeah that's what I heard too.
@@michaelmercury1297 I didn't just hear it. Dustin says it himself in a shoot interview. It's on RUclips.
@@Rockhound6165 Yeah I think that's where I heard it.
It's hard watching Jim light up a smoke knowing he's had so many health issues in the past.
Kinda makes you wonder if that’s compounded his health issues and for how long …
Probably only thing still keeps him going...it is for me...f'n cigarettes ...just anthor drug!
Not my dog Spot, Not my Liverspot, but my Spot.😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 Kevin Nash was F'N HILARIOUS in that skit!!
Terri was smoking hot! Her and Debra were my favorites.
I loved Terri. Mmm mmm little Marlena. I would.
Dustin joked that he paid for the implants if true
Terri was my favorite during that era. She's still attractive, but I will never be able to get the image of her tossing New Jack's salad out of my mind.
Trish stratus
@@jameschou888 He truly did God's work then. 😆
At the time, all of us fans wanted Ahmed as champ. He may have been green but the fans didn't see that. We enjoyed him at that time. It was the absolute right idea.
Jr is a hater. Ahmed def had that IT factor
JR We love you, your the goat of all commentary, I just want to give you your flowers 💐 while you're still here with us.
Vince was like, "You leave all the rubbing on the Talent to me!"
I read that in his infamous Mr. McMahon voice.
@@georgefranco7900 🤣
that was a tongue kiss and not a normal kiss... TWO, it was unscripted.... THREE Ahmed beat TF out of Dustin for real at the end of that match so it wasn't him getting 'hulked up' that was him actually being angry Dustin did that... Conrad you gotta do BETTER with your information giving
and I believe the whole Golddust character was created because vince mcDKBag was fulfilling an agenda being pushed to him behind the scenes.... an agenda he didn't have any issue with pushing since he himself indulged in abominable acts with.....

The Monday Night Wars/ Attitude Era was a wild period. The stuff WWF, WCW and ECW were doing was very innovative but very controversial. They grew the wrestling audience in general a lot, especially the younger demographic, but they pissed off a lot of people too and they probably lost quite a few older fans too that were still hanging, but nowhere nearly as many as they gained. 90s pop culture was kind of wild itself though
There was nothing like it. Switching channels as a kid, watching the WCW vs WWF wars. Even got into ECW later on.
33 million people tuned in to watch Saturday night's main event. This was in the 1980s. There was about 8 million people watching Monday Night Raw and another 8 million people watching Monday night nitro. That's 16 million weekly viewers in the '90s. If you factor in the 33 million that was watching 10 years earlier and then add up all of the people watching the territories I would dispute that claim that '90s wrestling was hotter than '80s wrestling. It might have seemed that way because we were kids at the time and so we controlled the cultural zeitgeist. But for every kid they gained they lost two adults. It's just that the younger audience tends to draw that hot demographic. 18 to 35.
Jim Ross puffing on that weed 😂
🍃💨🚀
"You can't be rubbing up on the men, Dustin. That's my job, PAL!!!"
The mid to late 90s were a hilarious time for wrestling. That Marilyn Manson shock rock vibe had invaded wrestling and you never what crazy stuff was going to happen to shock people.
I got bad news for you mate. If you watch 90s wrestling without fast forwarding through the shitty bits it's every bit as bad as today. You can't go home again and all that.
My only thing about this video, is J.R. makes it seem like the WWF was using Dustin Rhodes like that before they gave him the gold dust character. I could be wrong, that was really the only time I remember seeing Dustin in the wwe/wwf. So in essence, Dustin was actually right not paranoid.
He was in a tag with his dad on the ‘91(?) royal rumble, losing to The million dollar man and Virgil, but freeing Virgil from MDM’s control.
I remember the carpark brawl with Gold dust and Roddy Piper, that was intense.
Seeing JR rip old fashioned cigs just totally warms my heart.
Jr smoking a cig.. much love he is a normal genuine person who have seen a lot
the village voice is free
The 1st 2 minutes was very eye opening. I love watching and listening to this. Jim Ross exposed the wrestlers in the locker room manipulated Ahmed Johnson out his spot.
Dustin really embraced gold dust which is a mark to his professionalism. The two I was really impressed with when it came to ‘90s gimmicks Dustin/gold dust and borne/Doink. Both had to absolutely hate the premises when they heard it and yet they really made the most of it.
Goldust is the complete opposite of homophobia.😂
Just like Sheldon Cooper he was worried about his spot
Funny how JR makes it all seem so simple and that's ironic coming from a man who sold his soul and dignity to Vince McMahon on numerous occasions.
I was watching wwf in 1996, ahmed was very over and could work a better match than most give him credit for
I agree.
The real threat is Vince McMahon let’s be honest🤫
My brain instantly thought of The Bloodhound Gang
Jimmy Pop forever
Why?
@@SmegulonPrime look it up
Sweat baby sweat!

Great show I was born in 84’ from SC, So I know a good bit about NWA/WCW, I saw it happening to Arn But Really didn’t know he was feeling like that 🤦🏾♂️ Nobody Can Ever Replace “The Enforcer”🔥
How can Ahmad be untrusting AND think guys are trying to help him? Yet if they’re screwing with him, doesn’t it justify him being untrusting ? ….
He did not suggest these two mindsets were present at the same time. In fact, he explicitly described the cause and effect relationship between the two. Your inability to comprehend basic conversation is alarming.
I loved the CCR quote JR. 👋
This show made the intercontinental belt my favorite till this day.
1:50 ahmed haters need to listen to what ross is saying here. he's basically affirming the reality that ahmed was victimized by jealous talent in the locker room who were trying to sabotage him because he was big time star quality, with potential greater than michaels and undertaker combined imo
I always had a feeling this was true. Something about those stories the other guys would tell. The man wouldn't partake in all their nasty habits and crappy ways of doing things outside of the gym. If it is true that they brought about his downfall, i hope justice for the man comes at some point whether in this life or the next.
I like that painting. One bird is looking one way, and the other bird is looking another way. It's kind of like a metaphor for what happens in the bed.
Lesson on the term "Homophobia" A phobia means that you are afraid of something or have an irrational fear of... The world isn't afraid of homosexuals so the term "homophobia" makes no sense and is wrongfully applied. Being against something doesn't equate to Fearing something. You're welcome.
Rocking chair is not a good idea lol...
The Undertaker chased him backstage for this lmao
The new Goldust would just be a Vince costume lol
Goldust character was the cold harsh truth about the wrestling industry on so many level 💯
You don’t need the bogey 🚬 JR 😂🙏🏾
I wonder how Dustin's career would have developed without the Goldust character.
It wouldn't have.
I read on PWI insider that Vince used a little doll to show GoldDust where it was OK to touch people
Jim Ross smoking a cigarette while talking to Conrad
“Cigarette”
Someone should have told Vince and John not to rub on the talent😂😂😂😂
This is where Gen x’ers get their stereotypes of gay people!
Not JR quoting Buffalo Springfield 😂😂😂
He said Noooo stop.....let me😂
Vince didn’t want his boys catching feelings
😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's really a shame Dustin Rhoads didn't get to where he is today sooner . He truly is one of the greatest.
What would happen to a wrestler if they refused to do something such as letting Golddust rub on them, or if they refused a stinkface?
Would they get fired, or were they allowed to choose what they would and would not do in the ring?
Funny how the WWE had no issue with angels like Undertaker putting Stephanie on a crucifix, implied forced s*x, Vince McMahon with his head between women's legs but Gold Dust rubbing on someone cause Vince and the fans to freak out.
Yeah because it's gay and might actually make someone mad.
@@TheGirugamesh1000 Maybe that's a them problem for getting so hysterical.
@@TheGirugamesh1000 And it isn't "gay", its heelish unwanted touching. Just like heel men touching women was done to get heat.
People's own personal problems with, assumptions about, or insecuritues around homosexuals shouldn't have been pandered to. But then again it was 1996.
If you made me look gay on national television, stabbing would occur
It was ok for goldust to be naked and the only thing he had on was the IC title but not ok touching the wrestlers?
I was a kid watching Gold Dust and he was a fave of mine but I knew he(the character) was a big freak 😆💀 I had a crush on that girl that was with him
6:15 perfectionist from coming from a wrestling family. Especially from Dusty’s popularity.
Goldust used to scare the sh!t out of me as a kid. As I got older I grew to love his gimmick when I started reading biographies and autobiographies of wrestlers who worked with him. Dustin’s a great guy overall and one hell of wrestler. That gimmick defines him sadly. In a good but bizarre way.
Vince McMahon created the obnoxious overtly flamboyant Goldust character. Then he told Goldust to “stop” rubbing on other wrestlers. 🤪
I wish Dustin got himself in serious shape in WWE and then had a big run as the Natural. If his height and size, Dustin could have been an intimidating heel or babyface.
Goldust played the Hollywood character perfectly
I mostly watched WCW back then but every once in a while I'd watch WWF...when gold dust would come on. Is when I'd go take a crap or something.
I love how gold dust gave it back to all the wrestlers who u knew were grouping all the female talent
Groaping
It can be difficult as a wrestler to lose your spot. Not your dog spot, not a liver spot, no not your parking spot, BUT YOUR SPOT!!!
Management to Enhancement Talent: "Hey, you're booked against Goldust tonight"
Enhancement Talent: "C'mon man. I told my family I was gonna be on TV"
This is only time I can’t hold anything against Ahmed 😂
That comment by Vince didn't age Well 👍🚫
Imagine Goldust wrestling in OG ECW.
How much does a wrestler get payed for a pay per view?
Well now I think it's nothing since it's all guarantee contract, but back then they would go off off how much the gate was and what position of the card you were on,there definitely was negotiation going on and it wasn't always so cut and narrow like that
I loved the gold dust gimmick what a bunch of Karen's crying to corporate
Gold dust was Vince’s idea. It’s not Dustin’s fault he played him as expected
Before drag queen story time we had Goldust to educate us on alternative lifestyles.
The Goldust gimmick made Dustin Rhodes one of the biggest Heels during that 1995 time Goldust made Dustin Rhodes legendary the Goldust gimmick was money
Million dollar body... 10 cent brain
I'm curious as to why the guys in the back were trying to screw over Ahmed Johnson.
Gold dust was hilarious.
Never heard a bad thing about Dustin at all from men or women in the business.
You should ask that air hostess what he's like
Ok
So is it me
or do I see
pilot jek Porkins interviewing JR ?…
Vince specifically told Gold Dust to stop rubbing himself on all the talent or he will be fired. Pat Paterson was probably the only guy that never complained about it.
JR is a legend behind the mic but I can't believe after all of his recent health issues he still sucks down the coffin nails.
For me, Goldust help destroy homophobic attitudes because he was a great wrestler.
Now we need a wrestler to destroy heterophobic attitudes.
No? He was great, but he reinforced homophobic attitudes. All anyone wanted was to see him get his ass whooped. 😂
I thought the gay rights people would have loved goldust.
Come on jr put the cigs down please
Why now dude? Stupid... He should enjoy his final years.
L😂L yet Vince started to "rub on" the talent
That time when Gold dust's trousers were partly ripped off showing the suspenders and fishnet tights!!
It’s crazy to think that some people that smoke cigs for years live a long life ??????
I quit 20 years ago, but part of me respects the hell out of people that just stuck with it, ride or die spirit. 😂
Picture Cody getting jumped in the ring by tonga brothers or any brother tag team then the lights go out n the gold glitter starts dropping n goldust music drops the pop would be crazy one more match !!!!!!!!!
I liked the character, I thought it was creative and imaginative, something u don’t always see in wrestling, in my opinion.
Imma be goldust for Halloween frfr
Goldust played Hollywood before the Harvey Scandel was brought to life.
Good interview
Bad touching Ayyyooo 🤦🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️ DAMN! Ron Simmons voice
When jr puffed his first 🚬 in 1966ish……the way he puffs that now is not for social ,kool ness factor
If Goldust came along today no one would even notice him because he would be a normal person.
feels bad knowing even a dude like Ahmed Johnson was suseptible to insecurity and bullying
His dad really messed him up
