Amazing collaboration, yes. I love the arrangement with the strings, James Brown's and Pavarotti's voices, etc. I was amazed how Pavarotti's singing with the language kept time with the music. Blending their voices together with the ladies in the background is just magical. With good headphones or earbuds, you are moved to have an eargasm and put this on repeat. Glad you enjoyed as much as I did.
Hi Gabi. Wasn't that amazing?!!! I was blown away when I first heard it. So much history there. Never expected to see those two singing together...but it totally worked! Thanks for the listen.
You missed out the last nice scene in the video: the female reporter asks James Brown what he thinks to collaborate with Pavarotti.. and his answer to this question was quite funny.

Hey Bob. Yeah, it is too bad that they are both gone now. But ,at least , we still have recordings like this that allow us to continue to enjoy their music.
Just Epic, every Time i hear it, they harmonize so great, sure, not as the sing on Time together, but blending . Thx for the Recap! And Yes, we All perish, but some will be remembered for Ages;) NWA Bavaria north out.
This is the best performance duet wise from Pavarotti, and the best video and sound quality of that show (the ones I have seen anyway). Here's one with Céline Dion, quite amazing as well: ruclips.net/video/otAu5twqDpk/видео.html
@@JennyJohn50 Yes, Baby Can I hold You (Tracy Chapman), Holy Mother (Eric Clapton), saw this just last week as a matter of fact. Excellent. Thank you :-)
Pavarotti has done a whole slew of collaborations with various artists: ie -- Barry White -- Tom Jones -- Elton John In fact there is a rabbit hole where you can dwell, just check out the numerous "Pavarotti and Friends" concerts.
@Modern Life for the 70's Mind Yes Bob, there more than a few dozenS of these collaborations. A mixtures a many music genres. (R&B/ Pop/Classical/Country/Blues...) I'll recommend Pavarotti with Barry White "My First, My Last, My Everything". It was evident they both were ill. Next with Joe Cocker "You Are So Beautiful.." Then Bob, onwards with the other collaborations. 😉 ""Pavarotti & Friends was a series of benefit concerts hosted by Italian operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti between 1992 and 2003 in his home town of Modena, Italy."
Thanks for the wonderful reaction! I dont know what genres of music you usually listen to, but I highly recommend a group called Playing For Change who does cover songs of bands (usually featuring one of the band members) and musicians from all over the world, playing with the track in their own element. They believe Music can bridge gaps in cultures and distance, uniting people with love and these songs make you feel every bit of it! Some absolutely stunning works & I think you would really appreciate them. Here are my favs by Playing For Change if you're interested: When The Levee Breaks ft.John Paul Jones if LedZepplin/cover; The Weight ft. Robbie Robertson of The Band/Cover & Ringo Starr; Listen To The Music ft.Tom Johnston of the Doobie Brothers/Cover; Imagine ft. John Lennon; Sitting on the Dock of the Bay. Namaste my friend
He was one of those singers that I will forever kick myself for not going to see him in concert. I've spoken to people who saw him and they all say that he was flat out amazing. Thanks for the listen.
Hi Tom. I think I liked how they came from opposite ends of the spectrum on this. It worked for me. I'll be honest though.i wouldn't have complained to hear JB sing the entire song. He was that good.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm, what a chill in the body with heavenly soul and voices

James browns
James brown is brilliant, but this collaboration didn't work for me , I know folks loved it , but Pavarotti for me just didn't fit on this one.
