How To Replace A Track Roller On An Excavator

Replacing a bottom track roller on a Hyundai R210 LC-3 excavator. I didn't slack the track or crawl underneath it, which works for rollers close to the centre of the rails. Rollers toward the ends will require slacking the track.

What about a block of wood so if the excavator dropped it dose not cut you arm off

I did the sprockets on my 120D today.
Watching you put your arm between the track and frame just freaked me out. I got hesitant to do that today.
But, those bolts don't need to be super tight. They're under pressure but not lateral load.
My sprockets bolts cane our generally easy today, about 150lbft to crack them. Getting the sprocket off was a different matter, lol

The clamping force created by torqueing bolts isn't just for load handling, it also keeps the bolts in place. I'm not crazy about the idea of those bolts backing themselves out while I'm tracking around. FWIW, they felt tighter when I broke them loose than with the spec I torqued them to. I have to do sprockets as well, it's a crap job alright. When I replaced the final drive without breaking the track a couple years ago, I had the track pulled every which way hooked to a couple other pieces of equipment and it still was a fight to get the sprocket off.

I do have a torch for when things get stubborn but I can't afford 1" stuff, I make up for that with anger and adrenaline and pipe extensions
