- LACOUR’S BITTERS SARSAPARIPHERE applied top 1867-68 These bottles are often considered one of only two figural bitters made in the west. Meant to resemble a lighthouse, the story of Louis Lacour is an interesting one. The September/October Bottles & Extras has a fascinating story regarding Lacour. The bottle itself is fairly heavily whittled with the top being somewhat bent. It is a lighter amber and we could say it is about as nice an amber example as we’ve seen. No imperfections just a gorgeous and early bottle. Grades a 9.
