Nuclear Missile Turned Peaceful: The Redstone Rocket

The Redstone rocket, designed by Wernher von Braun and his team of rocket scientists, was originally made to carry a nuclear warhead. Despite this militant intent, it was eventually used for a more peaceful purpose: putting astronauts into space during the Mercury program.
