As far as a group singing religious hymns, I love them, too. I am not usually a fan of Southern Gospel since the shouting/singing is not my cup of tea.😄. I like the calmness of their voices, too.
I like this performance of Love Was in the Room by the Booth Brothers. It is at the picnic for the Homecoming singers on July5, 2012. I co-wrote Love Was in the Room with my friend Rob Bahlmer and my husband Ivan Parker on Good Friday of 1985. It was originally written in Italian. Rob wrote the first verse, I wrote the second verse Ivan Parker wrote the third verse and we worked together on the chorus. Ivan and I worked together to translate the song into English. Ivan sang Love Was in the Room at Catholic mass on Easter Sunday in our local parish in California, MO.
I saw these men perform this song live in Phoenix a few months ago. Right before they came on, another gospel group announced that their mother (part of the group) was so ill that she could not perform; so they performed without her, and said on stage that they were going to take her to a hospital. I went to the stage after they were done, and asked the security to let me talk to one of the sons of the sick woman. His name was Patrick. He came and spoke with me, and I said, "Patrick, your mother is sick, and we are believers in Jesus. Right now we have the greatest opportunity to glorify God, with thousands of people in this room who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Bring your mother out, and let us agree in prayer for her - all of us! And God will heal her!" He refused. I asked then to please let me come backstage and pray for her. Again he refused, and said they were taking her to the hospital. What a shame it is that so many who profess to be Christians, simply refuse to believe God's word. I will never go to another gospel music concert again. Those people are not Christians. They are simply entertainers, using Jesus' name to sell their music. Nice people - but lost.

I believe most of the Gaither Group are Baptists and some Baptists (I'm sure not all) do not believe in healing in this day. They believe it was for in the days when Jesus walked the earth. Yes, I agree, they are missing out on many blessings by not believing in healing. I hope their Mom is well today. God Bless!
