I read a very recent story from an Alawite that was born and raised in Damascus, this Alawite decided to travel to the Coast with his family in his vehicle at 3 AM. He said half his family lives in Damascus and the other half in the Coast, he said they and other Alawites got robbed at gunpoint, the militants took their vehicles, so they had to walk for hours until another vehicle picked them up. While he was walking, he said he saw other Alawites at checkpoints get pulled out of their vehicles and get whipped in front of their children, he heard gunfire, but he wasn't sure if anybody got shot. It seems like the militants are stealing back-to-back vehicles, apparently A LOT of vehicles. Apparently, the militants set up checkpoints, and were checking IDs, it seems like the Sunni militants know an Alawite by their last names, their name in-general, and that their vehicle was heading towards the Coast, and assuming their address gave away what neighborhood they live in, and listening to their dialect, their accent, they robbed the Alawites. Not sure what 'rebel' group robbed them, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was HTS. Not sure if it's a real story or not, but that's the story I read from an Alawite, he also said he wasn't brave enough to take a picture or record, as his life was on the line and could risk getting shot, it must've been like 3 AM - 6 AM, so must've been real terrifying to see armed Sunnis holding a checkpoint looking for any Alawites, and possibly any other minorities, but definitely the Alawites are being targeted.
The Alawite titled his story, "My experience as an Alawite over the past 24 hours, please help me understand," it seems like he was unfamiliar with sectarian, and so he was asking other sects for their perspective, and mentioned that in Damascus in his home, the word "sect" was never mentioned. He only heard of such a thing when he was in Lebanon as a tourist, and they asked him his sect. I wrote this here, as it seems every other Syrian returning to Syria may or may not be fine, but if they're Sunni, then they should be just fine, but apparently not the Alawites of Syria.
Seeing what the alawites had been doing to the sunni majority in the last 50 years this is nothing. Lets see what the friendly alawites did, in 1982 under orders from Hafez al-assad there was a massacre in Hama, 40k specifically sunni muslims massacred and in their homes were written blasphemous writings mocking the Islamic faith by praising the party and the nation as god and the messenger. similar things in the civil war with insane torture scenes and also in prisons thousands of Syrians and even non-Syrians such as palestinians and lebanese were held many of these Palestinians especially girls were tortured and many sunni women in prisons were graped en mass as a result producing many children in these prisons, so many sunnis oppressed and killed by the assadist alawite regime. Its a sunni country where sunnis were oppressed by alawites. The alawites should be grateful that the sunnis didnt enact any revenge. bashars regime is disgusting please do not defend it, he tortured and murdered my family, you are a foreigner you dont know jacksh*T dont talk like an idiot and make bashar seem like a hero, he is a socialist secular tyrant that brutally oppressed the majority population him and his father for 54 years since 1970. The entire country is extremly happy at his fall. I think I saw my mother crying, every Palestinian I know Is extremly happy at this. Stop lying the alawites are protected, look at offical statements not the propaganda poster from them, they already captured the coast. they held a joint conference of sunnis, alawites and christians in latakia. The Rebels made a offical statement protecting the alawites. please you are a foreigner you dont know anything dont just assume like a idiot. Oh poor poor minorities they might be oppresed I guess screw the majority of people who had been oppressed for 54 years, I didnt see a single f**ng westerner say anything about the sunni oppression which represent the majority at 70% now your yapping about possible minority oppression which never happened that was a isolated incident. its fine now, the rebels promised them protection and they delivered it. they toppled bashars statue in latakia. Now peace will come.
Hi good Phil happy to see you in Syria wish I was like you exploring. The world is broken up by tribalism. One of the factors of contention throughout the world is religion. You are a Catholic, I am a Muslim, based on ideas, propaganda of hundreds or thousands of years; the Hindu and the Buddhist ideas are of thousands of years. We have been programmed like a computer. When there are half a dozen gurus priests imam in the same place, they bring about misery, contradiction, conflict: “My guru is better than yours; my group is more sanctified than yours; I have been initiated, you have not.” You know all the nonsense that goes on. So when you see all this around you as an actual fact, then you do not belong to any group, to any guru, to any religion, to any political commitment of ideas. In the serious urgency to live peacefully there must be freedom from all this because they are the causes of dissension, division.

Well put my friend

Where are the prices? You don't give the most important info at all. Why??? That takes a lot of value minus your video. You should give much more info for the future visitors of Syria.
I went with a tour which included everything. Sorry I dont know much about the prices except for what I mentioned.
