The part where you were like "aw that's so mean, he just blew his cigarette out on his horn" and I had the same thought but then remembered that fire doesn't hurt them
I also like the fact that blitzo decided to light an already lit cigar
to be fair, most horns don't have nerves in them, like how you can cut your nails and hair without feeling any pain

I don’t think they dislike Moxxie because he “thinks he’s too good for them”. Someone who thinks that wouldn’t compete for their approval. It’s more portrayed as they don’t like him because they think he’s not physically strong. That’s why he keeps mentioning his good attributes. He wants to prove that he can give more than what they expect.

Yeah, I thought that was obvious. Moxxie is that guy who just turned out different from the other people who come from the same environment and he doesn't fit in. He's just as attracted to violence as everyone else, but the _way_ he goes about it makes him look like a soft boi in the eyes of Millie's family.
Him standing up to her parents and defending Millie and pointing out that they somewhat caused the whole mess made them slightly approve, if just a little bit.
Not sure what is more impressive, the quality of this episode, the neat & funny reveal of Striker's client or the fact Norman freaking Reedus voiced him.
There are so many layers to the ice berg Dan! Doesn’t he voice a video game character too!
It blew my mind too and I immediately thought about this: "Sam I need you to go west to kill Stolas."

I mean the framerate if some of the scenes was pretty bad, but this is by far the best episode yet from Spindlehorse!

I firmly believe that Stolas always knew that Stella was trying to have him killed. Why else invite IMP to the festival? That, and the whole thing is clearly not that serious, given that Stella was openly talking about it on the phone at the dinner table. Even if she didn't use Stolas' name, she said "cheating prick".
I don't know, Stolas did look up in the end, like he usually doesn't pay attention to Stella's shouting, but then heard cheating prick and booted 'Is she talking about me?' But also she did move towards him, what you can't miss :D

I think it just shows how far the relationship between Stella and Stolas has deteriorated. He is probably so used to her hating him and yelling threats that he either just doesn't even listen anymore or he just doesn't care.

Knowing that couple, I'm pretty sure Stolas heard every word, but wasn't entirely sure if she was talking about him, or one of her boy toys.
I can’t believe the foreshadowing! Back in episode 2, I’m pretty sure Stolas or Blitzo said he had a huge bounty on his head, and (while it’s obvious) we have Striker now, as a presumably reoccurring character, a bounty Hunter enlisted by Stella to kill her husband. And he seems way more competent than the ones that tried to kill Stolas in Loo-loo Land.
Another thing I’ve noticed. None of the villains so far have actually be defeated.
-Martha and her cannibal murder family were likely all sent to hell, and they seemed to enact rituals by the imagery in that episode. So they’ll probably be back in demon forms at some point.
-Fizzaroli - the animatronic that attacked Blitzo in Loo-loo Land - has been around since Octavia was an infant at least. Chances are an animatronic could have a chip with its data, mannerisms, and personality saved elsewhere in the event the body is destroyed. Get a new body after the dragon ate it after the first episode, and load the “Fizzaroli” personality onto it, and it’s like he never died.
-Verosika, the succubi and Vortex are easily returning, no questions asked. Vortex offered a chance for Luna to party with a bunch of his friends, so that’ll definitely be an episode down the line.
-Finally the cherubim that were kicked outta heaven, everyone pieced together that they’ll probably be outcasted to hell, maybe in new demonic forms as well. I’d assume they’d lose at least their halos and white wings.
Every one of the above mentioned characters with the exception of maybe Martha, have a score to set with Blitzo. As always, Ms. Vivianne Medrano and her team outdid what they’d outdone! I can’t wait to see where this story continues to go, and the direction Vivziepop is going with it!

I think Martha and her cannibal family could return as well but in hell since moxxie took care of that. As for the cherubs, well they are now considered fallen angels bc they got kicked out and yes they very well might go to hell. Verosika and robofizz are confirmed coming back within the remaining 3 episodes that this season has-you can see them in the trailer for S1 (on the wiki it actually says S1 helluva boss will be 8 episodes long and not 10 as it was first speculated). From this episode onward we will have major plot development which I’m so fcking happy that we finally get a plot and so excited about it. I also cant wait what will the future seasons bring to the table as im assuming Vivian will continue this project. Im super hyper turbo hyped

Surprising the end isn't it? Even and I was surprised, Stella will hire all the enemies of IMP and that is why we see RobotFizz and Verosika in the trailer, they will all take revenge against the IMP.
It’s only a matter of time when the villains unite against IMP. Calling it!

I think Stolas may realize, and is disappointed in Stella, but isn't concerned as he doesn't believe a would-be assassin would have the ability to actually kill him. I don't think I.M.P told him that Striker was using a blessed weapon.

He's fully aware that his wife is trying to kill him. That's why he invited Blitzo.
No, back with Loo Loo Land he just wanted general protection so he wasn't constantly being distracted when people attempted to mug him.
He's rich and they went to a SEEDY part of HELL, there's gonna be loads of people trying to kill and rob him simply because he's rich. He wanted IMP to handle keeping that stuff away from him so he could focus more on Octavia having a fun time. Which he did try to do, but being around Blitzo was a distraction in and of itself. Causing it to backfire. Once he decided to leave the park Stolas just used his powers the SECOND someone threatened him. It's implied in this episode they couldn't really hurt him if they tried either.
Stolas is one of the most powerful beings in all of hell, according to Vivziepop herself, he's even more powerful than Alastor. He probably thinks Stella hiring assassins to kill him is just how she entertains herself and isn't really concerned with what he considers to be a futile attempt. Granted he probably doesn't know said assassin actually has the resources to kill him. He invited Blitzo and IMP to the festival because he was unexpectedly taking his book back, which means they can't work. Plus it's an excuse to have Blitzo around which Stolas will generally always capitalize on.
Of course that is largely speculation, we really just don't know much about the relationship between Stolas and Stella, and need more information to actually figure anything out. The Loo Loo Land part is true though, those imps attacking Stolas were just common thugs trying to rob him. I mean it's HELL, what would you expect?

I feel like we saw a new side of Blitzo this episode, especially in the beginning scene with Stolas. You can tell he cares more about spending time with his employees than his actual clients. I can tell they're leading up to something big with him and I can't wait to see it!

Vivzie REALLY brought out the big guns in voice acting, NORMAN FUCKIN’ REEDUS!
Striker is a competent character and IMP has some trouble for when they meet him again maybe before the season finale.

I can see how each and every antagonist in each episode will return for revenge. IMP has consistently screwed over everyone they have met. The Murder Family, Momon probably doesn’t appreciate the destruction of his business, Verosika, the Cherubs and Striker. They are going to have people gunning for them and that list is probably going to grow

this is my favorite episode by far! One thing im interested in is Blitzo and Stolas' dynamic, as well as the father-daughter relationship between Blitzo and Loona. I really hope this becomes like,, a big plotline involving people trying to kill Stolas.

I don't think that was Hypnotism; I'm pretty sure that's what Blitzo gets off on.
You do have to appreciate the subtle things are in this episode. Like the fact you wouldn't realize at first glance that Millie's sister is actually trans because she has male pattern horns with the wide white stripes. Nobody calls attention to it and it's just a tiny detail, but it works without needing to call more attention to it.
Blitz doesn't care about his clients, he just wants to kill people and I think that's hilarious

People point out that Stolas wasn't listening to what his wife was saying on the phone, but there's also the fact that neither her nor Striker said Stolas' name at any point. Even if he heard her talk about killing someone he might be thinking it's someone else.

@@72kyzero Actually, rewatching the episode I think that while he wasn't listening the words eventually registered, hence his shocked expression when he looks at his wife at the end. I guess after she says "cheating prick" he had to connect the dots.

Blitzo gazing lovingly at the Hell Horse :) Millie must have at least one brother and one sister since we hear her mum tell her she can still cheer them on in the Games and Millie talks about her brother's wedding. I think the writers went with the old trope of parents not liking their daughter's partner because they aren't what they see as a "man/Imp" ie Millie's parents are tough and raised her to be the same whereas Moxxie is physically weaker and more sensitive than most of Hell's residents, referencing his actions in Murder Family. Moxxie only recieved approval from them when he stood up to them for Millie.

11:20 we actually saw why it was a tie, Striker managed to hog tie Blitz, but Blitz was winning the mud wrestling match, they were on the same team for the tug o war and we don't know who won the race, bu it was likely a tie, Stolas had nothing to do with it.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm assuming more of the budget was put toward the fight scenes and more heavily lit and detailed shots so that's why there are scenes with lower frame rates.

You are correct! There is a hiarchy in hell just like on earth
1) Royalty, So this would be Charlie and her dad, they have absulute power and are the highest on social and economic level
2) Overlords of the Seperate rings, there are 7 rings in hell and every one of them have their own overlord
3) Overlords in the Pride ring, all hell born demons are free to travel all the rings of hell but earth born sinners are confined to the Pride ring, so overlords here are usually sinners and take over seperate "territorys"
4) Succubus and other hell born demons we have not seen, it's unclear their social standing in hell because not much has been mentioned about them, however it has not been seen weird or taboo that Versoica had owned her own business and seemed to be highly praised to the point her business was successful and had a meeting with the CEO of the building she rents out
5) Sinners, it's also unclear about the hiarchy of sinners since they are confined to the Pride circle of hell, but they do seem to have their own social hairchy and communities, the only reason I place them lower then demons we haven't seen is because to most demons don't bat an eye during the yearly exterminations
6) Imps and HellHounds, the lowest of the higherachy, they are usually sold as slaves and are poor-blue collar workers, so imps mostly inhabit rural areas or poor cities like IMP city, they are seen as lower then Sinners,
And to confirm the gun is a heavenly gun, made by angels and used during the extermination to permently kill a demon for good. They can only be found on the back market.
The part where Blitz is randomly eating cheese with hot sauce on it is a reference to his voice actor, Brandon Rogers doing the same thing once.

I think Stolas knows that his wife wants him dead and doesn't really care, I mean they were never inlove and they argue all the time, he wouldn't be surprised nor feel bad is he knew she hired an assasin

As much as Moxxie is often kind of pompous, I'm pretty sure it's the opposite and that they think they're better than him because he's not physically strong or imposing enough for them. As someone from a rural area, most people around here do kind of look down on artsy types, unfortunately. Funnily enough, Blitz thinks he's better than them but they still love him because he's tough as nails

Striker is basically what you'd call "a Knight of Cerebus", a trope in which a generally comedic, lighthearted show suddenly introduces an actually competent, threatening and serious villain into it.
Care to elaborate this trope? This is the first I've heard of this trope, I want to read it and see if I can find some new reads for it.

@@alextrin683 Indeed, this is exactly where I've heard of this trope and on the Helluva Boss page, Striker is mentioned as being one of these. I thought it fit how I felt about this episode perfectly as it started off as silly and goofy as the previous episodes, but became super dark once we discovered the true motives of Striker.
