I am a level 5 - a human "hound dog". The scent I use each day defines my mood and intention...I wear it only for myself and usually have to make my own blends to get there. Thank you for your delightful and accurate analysis.

    I'm a 'Level 3' oud guy - a mix of appealing/not appealing to others.
Middle eastern houses have always interested me but you've taught me a lot about their offerings through your channel, so thank you for that and keep it up!

I know im 7 years late, but better than never lol. That Rasasi Al Boruzz Indonesian is a life changer! Excellent scent profile. It reminds me of the natural version of Escentric Molecules 02. This is pleasant but people will certainly notice your presence. Oud haters, don't fear! Fresh and citric oud! Great review!

Excellent information about oud fragrances; well-done! I have been on my oud journey for the past three years and I have everything from the lighter, fresher western ouds, to the sweet and gourmand ouds, to the complex/interesting ouds, to the dark and dirty and skanky oud fragrances. Western and Middle Eastern interpretations...love a lot of them, and have a lot of them too. Enjoyed! Oh, if I had to live with only one oud fragrance (heaven forbid) I would have to go with Arabian Oud Kalemat Black because it just does strikes all the right olfactory notes in my world. Love that stuff!!!

I like the way you reviewed and explain about each fragrance. I have been using attar since kids. My grandfather is the one responsible exposing me to attar. growing up I started using lots n lots of western fragrance until at one point I got bored with western scent. I again start to love attar when I went to Abu Dhabi in 2010. since then I slowly changing my fragrance to something oudy. After watching your videos It makes me want to go and look for most of the perfume that u reviewed. My latest acquire was the sehr al kalemat. From there I decided oud is the best fragrance for me atleast. keep posting and there's a lot more I need to learn about oud. thanks Nikhil.

Nice video :) I've been smelling oud for the last year, and indeed it's a very very complex note, I'm still not convinced but I want to try some better quality oud from arabian houses. I've tried MFK Oud and it's lovely, Dior Ispahan it's until now my favorite oud base (a little skanky in the begining for me at least, but i like it), also kalemat and the sweeter oud I like it a lot. I was not convinced by montale and mancera, maybe too much oud? I felt they were not very refined, but very loud (not talking about the quality but the caracter of the fragrance :) ) It's a very complex note, so thank you for this channel, please continue this path, there's enough reviews of aventus out there if you know what I mean :).

Very interesting breakdown by you as usual. Especially with the "levels". It would be interesting to continue this by giving an introduction into middle eastern ouds, from easiest to more challenging. Personally, that would be very helpful since the middle Eastern brands are very hard to initially wrap your head around. Where to begin?

I'm a casual fragrance user and went to sample a few of your recommendations, and for some strange reason, MFK's Cashmere oud's first impression what you describe, this sweet, thick, chemical like, rubbery, escalator grease type of smell is actualy so pleasant, to the point that I almost got obsessed by it, and took whiffs from the tester bottle like an organic solvent sniffing junkie :D

I was very disappointed in Roja Dove UAE, it is a beautiful blend, taif rose and oudh, a combo I love, after initial spray which was taif rose and smokey distant oud it disappears and the note of remorse of 555.00 wasted sets in. And yes like most it was a blind buy based on reviews.

Hello brother, first off I would like to say thank you for providing such an informative video, however I need some advice.
Currently I am at university and have a lot of designer perfumes and am happy with that collection. I live in the UK and have not really been exposed to many Ouds except when I go on holiday to Dubai, egypt etc. I would appreciate it if you could recommend a list of Ouds for me to try. Price is not an issue, however it would be ideal if you could include some affordable ouds along with the more prestigous ones.
I understand from the video that you said Western ouds and Eastern ouds are different, so I would be grateful if you could propose scents from both regions.
    Thanks in advance!!
