Merry Christmas and wish you a very happy new year to come! Hope this video helps you make a cosy sweater for this holiday season! Stay warm and happy sewing! xx
Thank you! Happy New Year to you as well! I use both! For the areas which need to be stretched, I use zigzag and for the rest, I use longer straight stitch!
Hi Sara, I have a question about sewing knit fabrics. Do we need to use zigzag stitches for them? I noticed that you used walking foot to sew the sweaters in your video, and it was just straight stitches right? I do have a serger at home, and I am wondering what is the best way to sew knit fabrics?
Hi Lily There are a lot of ways to sew knits and you need to fine the proper one depending on the fabric type, weight and stretch rate! I sometimes use straight stitch with a walking foot in the areas which don’t need to be stretched much. (Like an oversized garments) Otherwise, I usually use a zigzag stitch and a serger for seam finish. And I know many people just sew with a serger. It’s up to your preference!
Thank you so much for getting back to me Sara! I just sewed up a Nikko Top with bamboo jersey fabric today, with only my serger. It was a bit tricky to sew because the fabric was quite thin. What you said above totally makes sense to me! I feel I’m slowly getting the different ways to sew knits now. Thanks again!

Yes I did! ☺️
Hi Sara, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you for another inspiring video. Did you use a straight stitch or ziz zag on your machine?
Thank you! Happy New Year to you as well!
I use both! For the areas which need to be stretched, I use zigzag and for the rest, I use longer straight stitch!
I love your clothing labels, do you know where I can go to get my own labels made?
I bought them from a Korean company. I believe there are many other shops on Etsy as well! :)
