finally someone really beating that thing..and jumping it..etc... i'm thinking about getting one and have watched tons of videos... but this one sold me!..thanks!.. love that front flip btw
Awesome vid! Give some props to your camera lady too. She did good. I'm almost regretting my decision to go with the 5t now, but there's not as much info out there on the Redcat and already had the 5b and clone of it. Beautiful front flip too. Do it again!
I really like this video, actually, when I saw it for the first time, I knew right a way that I needed to get myself one so I bought a Redcat Rampage MT Pro v3 with a DDM Dominator Pipe.......Wow, I love it. All I can say is thanks for the video!
@robbyt42 I don't believe it is a direct fit, you may have to some modifications to fit. I did a custom set up from the beginning and fabricated alloy servos holders when I first got my Rampage, my is a version 1. I believe the V3 Rampages now come with dual steering servos. As for the 30.5 they come with the standard clutch spring, you will have to buy the 8000 RPM spring separately.
@hebbyovoldham It prevents dirt from getting in there and wearing it down causing an air leak, which in turn doesn't allow the carb to hold a tune. In essence the carb will last a lot longer with the hole filled.
@robbyt42 The 813 and the 990 are essential the same carb but the 990 doesn't have the accelerator pump. If you get the 813 just make sure you fill the accelerator pump hole with some RTV Silicon. I have had good luck with my 813's, I know some people just don't like the 813. One issue I have found with the 813 is, if you over prime it you can flood the carb which makes it hard to start. I am running metal gears with the stock ratio.
Thanks for the comments. The gear ratio on these trucks can be changed. I was running the stock ratio, which is more torque than speed and it still had pretty good top speed. A good place to get info on these trucks is redcatrampageforum.
oh yea, i had the same problem with my front chasis also, it broke a bit. i just strapped it back together try upgrading both to aluminium. don't worry bout the weight, its be worth it.
@nswiss1975 For the price I can't complain. This was the first version and I believe they have since change/fixed some of the issues. Check out the redcatrampage forum, it as all the info you could want on the Redcat Rampage line of 5th scale cars and truck.
@offbeatbareass69 I will have to go check them out. I really like the CPI pipe, I have one on my 5T and I modified one to fit on my TBII. On the Rampage I no longer use the Dominator, I modified a VRC pipe to fit and switched the MT to a Buggy which is better for the track at Milestone.
@muddogxxx I am not sure, I haven't been following the new XB/XT line up. The best place for anything Rampage related is the Redcat Rampage Forum as they have a ton of info there.
@MrCohibaboy It's an ESP race ported 30.5cc engine and as for the stock servos I personally wouldn't use them, I used Hitec servos from the beginning.
@WStar4Life Out of those pipes the only one I have used is the side DOM, it is a great pipe. I use a CPI pipe on my Baja 5T and it works great, but I am not sure about the CPI for the Rampage. I wish I could have been of more help...you might want to check out Redcat Rampage Forum they have a ton of info on the Rampage.
@pasatur526 No thanks, I dont think I will ditch it. I think I will keep my Rampage along with my Cleon, FG Baja Comp, FS Rally, FG Leopard, MCD MT, Titan, Thunderbolt 2 and my Baja 5T. But thanks for your well thought out advice.
@themfknightrider420 The background pic on my home page? If that is the car you are referring to that is my FG and it has hydraulic disk brakes on all four wheels. To my knowledge there is no disk brake kit for the Rampage.
@MikeTR02 I don't own an XT but I think Flowsystem Racing makes a pipe for the XT. Check out the redcatrampage forum as I believe they have some info on the pipe.
@offbeatbareass69 Thanks, the Redcat can be a great truck once you take the time to fix the flaws and for the price not a bad entry level RC. However, like you found out it isn't the lightest RC out there. Have you posted a video of your Ramp yet?
nice video, sorry you popped the A-arm pin on the front wheel but at least you got good stunts out of the run b4 that. Definitely want to get one these massive trucks, I noticed you that you cut up the gear cover; how hot does those gear get?
The gears don't get that hot. I only ran the top portion of the gear cover to protect the body for hitting the gears, otherwise I wouldn't run the gear cover at all.
Great Video, having trouble deciding weather to get the Rampage MT or (XT is the newer version ) or the Traxxas E revo brushless. The truck in the video is it the MT or MT Pro? Like that pipe! Where did you get it?
Easy, I wouldnt say the lower front suspension arm broke easy. I was running it for almost 2hrs and as you can see from the video I am a pretty aggressive drive. This is not a little electric or nitro RC, it is a 5th scale RC weighing over 25lbs flying through the air.
@starkman84 Sorry you didn't enjoy the video, I guess you must have been hurt or angry...at least that is the feeling I am getting from your comment. Please accept my sneeriest apology, oh and by the way go FUCK YOURSELF MORON!!!
hey nice video. would you recommend this car. it would be my first 5th scale and what really makes me wanna get one of these instead of the baja is the 4 wheel drive. does it really help.
@palm47 no problem im looking to get the mt..i see on ur background that u have disc brakes on ur wheels can u get them for the mt i thought they was for the b5 and 5t if so how much are they?
Can you rate these pipes for the rampage mt/tt? The dominator, CPI's tuned pipe, and the jetpro? If you don't know about a certain pipe don't worry about that pipe. Thank you
@kirksajerk For the price it is a good truck. There are better quality cars but they are more expensive and some are a lot more expensive. I personally prefer 4wd over 2wd but others prefer it the other way, basically it all comes down to preference. I say go with the one you like the best, in the end you will probably buy both anyway. :)
You have that Cat running well! And nice video also. Some nobs don't like Redcat because their $300 volcano broke, however some dont like Traxxas, HPI or Associated with the same reasoning. They all break, I have over 20 RC trucks/cars and 6 different manufactures and have had the worst luck with Associated, that doesn't mean they suck. Redcat is more affordable and allows more people to get into the hobby. If I could afford a Ferrari I wouldn't drive this piece of crap Corvette ;-)
omg this thing would destroy a hpi baja easy idk why anyone thinks redcat racing is junk if u ask me i think there almost the best they sell for low price with some aluminum preapplied and some of these other trucks come completley plastic junk oh and they beat almost everyother truck out
Thanks Darin. Both the DDM Dominator pipe and the Rampage MT performed excellent!! Great pipe and great truck= loads of fun!!
finally someone really beating that thing..and jumping it..etc... i'm thinking about getting one and have watched tons of videos... but this one sold me!..thanks!.. love that front flip btw

Excellent video. Very well done. The DDM pipe is the best out there!
I really like this video, actually, when I saw it for the first time, I knew right a way that I needed to get myself one so I bought a Redcat Rampage MT Pro v3 with a DDM Dominator Pipe.......Wow, I love it. All I can say is thanks for the video!

awesome..the flip was nice, the pipe sounds good, and it was able to limp away nice job:)
So true!!! I am a RC Addict, I like them all. But even I still have my favorites.
@robbyt42 The 813 and the 990 are essential the same carb but the 990 doesn't have the accelerator pump. If you get the 813 just make sure you fill the accelerator pump hole with some RTV Silicon. I am running and HPI Baja air filter set up, I prefer it over the stock air filter. I use the same set up on mostly all of my RC's.
Thanks for the comments. The gear ratio on these trucks can be changed. I was running the stock ratio, which is more torque than speed and it still had pretty good top speed. A good place to get info on these trucks is redcatrampageforum.
That motor is the shit in your truck! You have about the same acceleration as my FG M/T!!! That's impressive!
Cool vid and very cool truck!
its the best monster movie i have seen on youtube...100%
oh yea, i had the same problem with my front chasis also, it broke a bit. i just strapped it back together
try upgrading both to aluminium. don't worry bout the weight, its be worth it.

That was awesome, can't wait to get mine and do the same thing 👍🏻
@muddogxxx I am not sure, I haven't been following the new XB/XT line up. The best place for anything Rampage related is the Redcat Rampage Forum as they have a ton of info there.
@MrCohibaboy It's an ESP race ported 30.5cc engine and as for the stock servos I personally wouldn't use them, I used Hitec servos from the beginning.
No, it is a 30.5cc motor. I stripped the truck to its chassis and put it back together with many upgrades, the motor was one of them.
@Lenny7118 It is a V1 MT and I got the pipe from DDM, it is their Dominator pipe for the Redcat.
Yes, it is a stock clutch but I was using a 8000 RPM Clutch Spring.
@WStar4Life Out of those pipes the only one I have used is the side DOM, it is a great pipe. I use a CPI pipe on my Baja 5T and it works great, but I am not sure about the CPI for the Rampage. @themfknightrider420 Thanks, in the video I am running an ESP race ported 30.5cc engine with the stock MT gearing.
Nice video - I love the front flip, too!
@williamclark77 Thanks. Now you will just have to get the Rampage to go with your 5T ; ) You can never have too many toys.
@themfknightrider420 The background pic on my home page? If that is the car you are referring to that is my FG and it has hydraulic disk brakes on all four wheels. To my knowledge there is no disk brake kit for the Rampage.
Just noticed you broke something at the end of the video. Let me know what it was and I will be happy to take care of it. Darin
wow
that pipe is REALLY good
@hebbyovoldham It is a good combo, it will really wake up any motor you are running...I will have to go check out your videos.
hello!!! video is good!!!! and model is very beatiful!!! ok the colors...Miky from Italy
@MikeTR02 I don't own an XT but I think Flowsystem Racing makes a pipe for the XT. Check out the redcatrampage forum as I believe they have some info on the pipe.
that is awesome i am buying one for sure awesome video
@robbyt42 I am running the 813, I have found it to be a great carb.
@offbeatbareass69 Thanks, the Redcat can be a great truck once you take the time to fix the flaws and for the price not a bad entry level RC. However, like you found out it isn't the lightest RC out there. Have you posted a video of your Ramp yet?
I was running a ESP 30.5cc race ported engine, I bought it at DDM.
@blackwidowc101979 Yes, I was running the stock MT gearing.
No you can't because of the rims depth, but with adapters you can use the HPI 5T and the Baja 5B rims on the MT.
Yeah that works! Love it!
nice video, sorry you popped the A-arm pin on the front wheel but at least you got good stunts out of the run b4 that. Definitely want to get one these massive trucks, I noticed you that you cut up the gear cover; how hot does those gear get?

@okidontcare26 It's an ESP race ported 30.5cc engine.
I was using the stock gear ratio in this video....I can't remember what they were though.
Great Video, having trouble deciding weather to get the Rampage MT or (XT is the newer version ) or the Traxxas E revo brushless.
The truck in the video is it the MT or MT Pro?
Like that pipe! Where did you get it?
@palm47 ya like i know about the baja and those are sick but there too much and the redcat is 4 wheel drive more metal and its sick.
No problem, its easy to forget how big these cars are.
@poopdogsays In the video I am running an ESP race ported 30.5cc engine with the stock MT gearing.
damn nice frontflip!
Easy, I wouldnt say the lower front suspension arm broke easy. I was running it for almost 2hrs and as you can see from the video I am a pretty aggressive drive. This is not a little electric or nitro RC, it is a 5th scale RC weighing over 25lbs flying through the air.

When I installed this pipe I did have to tune the carb to the pipe...I can't remember what the setting were though.
It doessound really good. May I ask who did the tuning work?
That's frigging awesome =D.
hey nice video. would you recommend this car. it would be my first 5th scale and what really makes me wanna get one of these instead of the baja is the 4 wheel drive. does it really help.
are you using the 'high torque' gear set here?
@palm47 no problem im looking to get the mt..i see on ur background that u have disc brakes on ur wheels can u get them for the mt i thought they was for the b5 and 5t if so how much are they?
@palm47 nice truck..whats ur gearing and engine combo that thing rips likes its nothing
Thanx, i may get a ddm pipe for my Blackout. Is the pipe louder than stock?
ta.
What difference does it make when you fill the accelerator pump hole with silicone??
Can you rate these pipes for the rampage mt/tt? The dominator, CPI's tuned pipe, and the jetpro? If you don't know about a certain pipe don't worry about that pipe. Thank you
i wanna get this trucks so bad now is this the stock motor with the pipe or is this the 28.5 cc
What pipe do you make for the Redcat Rampage XT with the 30cc engine?
Thanks!
IVE TRIED DIFFERENT PIPES ON FG MARDER, BUT THE DOM PIPE IS THE DADDY
It was done by ESP, I bought it for DDM.
have you ever broken anything in the differential? thanks
i want to see a new design where its a stadium truck
LOL ...Well said my friend!
love it cat wait to get one
have you reset the carb mixture needles for this pipe??
What cc motor are you running? Any porting?
you running stock gearing
@kirksajerk For the price it is a good truck. There are better quality cars but they are more expensive and some are a lot more expensive. I personally prefer 4wd over 2wd but others prefer it the other way, basically it all comes down to preference. I say go with the one you like the best, in the end you will probably buy both anyway. :)
what all is done to the engine?
You have that Cat running well! And nice video also. Some nobs don't like Redcat because their $300 volcano broke, however some dont like Traxxas, HPI or Associated with the same reasoning. do they make a pipe fo the rampage xb 30cc from redcat? it is lighter and faster help please thank you muddogx
Not a stock motor then??
I read ...rectal rampage... at first, when i saw the video i thought i was quite correct after all :P
Stock clutch?
do they make a pipe fo the rampage xb 30cc hy from redcat? it is lighter and faster help please thank you muddogxxx
people say redcat is junk but i dont blame is for breaking that like 30pounds to crash like that
@palm47 well said
Does anybody know if i can use redcat rampage tires and wheels on baja 5t?
Not bad for a 40 pound truck!
is this stock ?????????????????
@williamclark77 Too funny, but true. Mama Visa always get her money one way or another. : )
Nope, it has a DDM pipe, 30.5 engine, steel gears and a few other modifications.
@palm47 Tell that to Mama Visa Card!
I just converted my Maverick Blackout MT/Redcat rampage MT into a Redcat Rampage TT now with a DDM pipe and 813 carb ;-) check my vids to see
omg this thing would destroy a hpi baja easy idk why anyone thinks redcat racing is junk if u ask me i think there almost the best they sell for low price with some aluminum preapplied and some of these other trucks come completley plastic junk oh and they beat almost everyother truck out
Nope....30.5 race ported engine.
Nicht Schlecht
redcat is junk.. i got ripped off for over $300 by redcat
