Glad to see you at 225k! The 2012-2014 is super classy, love the way it looks, stock. I used to own a 2012 SH-AWD, no mods, and it was amazing to drive - but it was not reliable/ dependable. I made the decision to give it up before the warranty expired. It was always at the dealer with propeller shaft issues, which is... a huge part of the drivetrain. It needed to be replaced twice. I miss it for sure - but the 3.7L/ SH-AWD system is not reliable.
FWD 3.5L however, is a different story. Great all around, not mechanically complicated, reliable vehicle while still offering great performance. Congrats on keeping yours in great shape! Always nice to see.

I bought a 2012 tech with 53k miles in 2014. Now has 155k. Never one problem. Change the oil with synthetic every 7500, did a major tune up at 95k, every 20k i drop and replace 3quarts of trans fluid, car runs like a top, hauls ass, fun to drive. I agree with this guy, you can buy them over 200k miles and they are still super reliable.

I have a stock 2005 TL with a little over 222,000 miles on it. I opted for the 6 speed manual transmission which is an absolute blast to drive. I keep up with all the maintenance and keep it very clean. The navigation finally went out. I could get it fixed for $350-400, but to be honest I use my phone now for navigation purposes (Waze specifically). This cars is not a rocket off the line, but it does pull strongly - when you're on the highway and have to pass someone it has more than enough power and pushes you back in the seat to beyond triple digit speeds. It still has the original clutch, and the transmission still shifts smoothly between gears. I currently have Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ Ultra High Performance tires on it, and this thing sticks to the road like glue. I have a 2013 Honda Accord Sedan (V6) as well, and it doesn't corner anywhere close to the TL. Yes, I realize different tires and suspensions contribute significantly to this, but I was just stating that the TL handles noticeably better and much quieter. I was going to get the 2012-2014 model year TL because it has the bigger engine and syill comes with a manual transmission, but I really like the way the 05 looks and decided I have no desire to get rid of it. I am certain I can 300K miles on this car and look forward to having it for many more years of driving pleasure.

Only thing to take into consideration on the newer body style is the 3.7 shawd does have a good bit of issues. My dad has a 2011 with 215k his burns oil but has not had any issues while I’ve heard others having issues with the driveline that’s goes to the back a a few other things. The Fwd model is the most solid but at the same time it sounds like you would want to stick with a manual so that would be the only option
