10 speed yes. I have the mustang 2017 pre FL and i dont like the 10 speed AT. Its faster ok, but this short gears is nothing for me. im happy with my 6 speed AT. Nice Gear Ratios
I like the 10 speed because it sounds like a race car from 1st-7th (short midrange ratios), much like the 2017 Acura/Honda NSX (9 speed with short midrange ratios (4th-7th))
There is always a way to remove the limit. Not a good idea on new cars though. But for some there are plug and play solutions, meaning you don´t have to program anything and can just unplug it to get back to factory setting.

Wow very impressive. 0-100 in 4.3 seconds in real life conditions on an every day road is very impressive considering it's rear wheel drive, and the heavier cabriolet version of the GT! I have no doubt that if you use the normal 2018 GT performance pack with the 10 speed you'll be able to get 0-100 times of under 4 seconds consistently. This new 2018 is really a huge step up from the previous version. I'm certain this would run circles around the 2017 GT, concidering even the top of the line '17 Performance pack with the 6 speed auto struggled to get 0-100 times under 5 seconds. I bet removing the limiter on this will even allow it to reach 300kmh looking at how it was still accelerating at 250kmh
Batata The video isn't necessarily the run used to record the 0-100 time. Allot of RUclipsrs record a 0-100 time on the dash and then afterwards use a vbox to try and get the best possible time. That's why he put up 4.3 seconds, that's his vbox GPS/Vbox recorded 0-100 time.

However, since this is rear wheel drive you need absolutely optimal conditions - both tires and track - to hit these times. Usually one will struggle achieving these numbers, as you clearly have seen in the video.
While its a very nice car I still have some problems prefering it over the older 2017 version: 1. The 10 Speed Gear might be fast and all, but the short gears dont allow the pure V8 Sound to come through, since gears are relatively short. 2. The bad use of the limiter that forces the car to constantly swap between the 7th and 8th gear on full acceleration. How will this car ever shift into higher gears (8th, 9th, 10th?) 3. I liked the old dashboard a lot better. I know these shiny new screen based dashboards are futuristic and such, but for such a tradition based car the old dashboard did just fine. In my opinion it was easier to overlook the important things while I feel like the new one is a bit overloaded. 4. This car really is meant to be driven in manual if you ask me. If you cant drive manual, you shouldnt be driving this car. 5. All this new shiny stuff probably will add a few thousand euros/dollars to the pricing at rather low advantages.
after driving lots of Stangs i have to agree in most points ! A big V8 NEED only 5 speed gearbox to get out the nice low sounding when the low end torque get on it ! The best looking gauges you can get in a Mustang were in the 2012-2014´s....as well as the fat high middle console where your arm can lay pretty well in a light downward angle ! In these cars you felt like THE boss. The whole design with that unique SHELBY nose was very very imperessive and a special look which NO other car shared ! Downside was the non telescoping steering wheel and the shit truck axle hopping around all the time.
i drove the 8 speed autonatic Corvette and it was good under hard acceleration but for normal driving i found it to much and to much shifting ! Drove the same car with 7 speed manual and i drove it most times max with 5 gears and found that quite enough.....big engines with so much low end torque are more fun to drive when using their whole powerband from the cellar upwards ! Its so much more depressing. Remember the first Mustang came with a 3 speed automatic !!! a 10speed automatic comes near a cvt and the rpm drop only thousand rpm or so .....not my thing !!
I do agree with point 1. Longer gears are better since they enable us to hear the engine soundtrack in a more enjoyable way. At least the LC500s 10 speed has good gearing.

Wierd that it revs better than Lexus 5.0l V8 with 477 PS, Usually Japanese motors are the ones that loves to rev, in this case its the American motor that revs harder

It struggles with lack of traction, you can see how much it spins its tires which slows it down. I wish it had 295s at the back, it would improve the traction so much

I've done 0.77 Acceleration G's in my GT. And I didn't even push it to the max.
