Lovely tour Lyn 🙂 Shame about having to keep the cacti caged up in case people touch them. Next thing will be stopping everyone going into the countryside in case they touch nettles or brambles 😲 Good that Hans's tree is so big now. You can see one I planted on Google street view now 😎Hope you both have a lovely evening 😊😊🌵🌵
haha I know its crazy they have the cacti caged up, and if kids or adults are daft enough to touch them they won't want to touch them again haha, they have a really awesome collection of cactus in their out of public greenhouse at the back, really awesome old specimens and its such a shame they don't display them in the public greenhouse, I will ask them if I can go and film some footage of their out of public cactus greenhouse next time I visit, so happy you loved the tour Ziggy, and thanks so much for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Jackie lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a brilliant evening XXXX

Thanks for a wonderful tour Lyn. I hope you'll be able to do a video of the non-public greenhouse with all the "dangerous" cacti - such a shame they are not public. I started life with a large Echinocactus Grusonii in the house, I can tell you small children learn pretty quickly not to go poking fingers in the wrong places! But then I guess children don't sue their parents over any injuries, which is probably what they are worried about.

Dear Lynn (apologies if spelt wrong) may I ask your opinion? I am thinking of buying a flying saucer offset that is unrooted from eBay and I wondered if you think it’s a bad idea as rooting a small offset in Ireland at this time of year might not work. Should I buy it? Would rooting be impossible this time of year and the offset would not make it through winter?
Hi Philip :-D the fantastic news with Trichocereus offsets is that they will definitely get through the winter even unrooted with no problems at all, what I would do is pot the offset up into pure horticultural grit, 'Woodies' or 'Homebase' will have the horticultural Grit, and then do not water at all until the Spring from mid April onwards, when planted in the grit keep the offset in a bright well lit position but away from very strong sunshine and heat ( not that we get that much sun in Ireland haha ) but a well lit bright position will help the offset root, it may not send out roots until the spring but it will get through the winter with no problems, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from Belfast for a wonderful new week XXXX
