    I don't understand why there are so many negative comments on this performance. Myriam Ould-Braham is perhaps the most beautiful dancer in Paris Opera today. She has magnificent lines, wonderful footwork and the most graceful arms. Her technique doesn't equal Dupont's but I love her delicate style and she is great as Aurora. Definitely one of my favorite dancers.

      udanse Agreed. And why so many down votes on every single video featuring her? She seems to have a very bad case of nerves here, but I find her dancing to be wonderfully full and textured, so to speak. The strength in her legs and torso is obvious, not to mention a stunning epaulement. Most of the really popular ballerinas these days may be able to throw their legs over their heads, and pull pained looks as a way of trying to express emotion, but they do not have the sensitivity and elegance that Myriam has in abundance. Her interpretation of Aurora is great. I can't wait to see more of her.

      I fail to see any evidence of a "bad case of nerves". I love her entrance. She seems to me the epitome of the young 16 year old princess, completely graceful in her dancing. I simply do not see these flaws, but then I am not a dancer. I have replayed this numerous times.

      Carrie G; you're very right my dear. Proof that being a specialist is NOT a requirement to enjoy a ballet; Actually, she had some problems with her right pointe shoe. In theater, these mishaps and little accidents DO happen. Pity it did happen precisely at that moment. Scroll to see the comments of Kim Donghwan and highlighterish for details.

    I don't see why so many people hate this woman's Aurora. I think she dances it beautifully, with lots of character. Also, why don't you try doing the rose adagio with a dead right shoe.

      N. Puttonen. I have to congrat you, my dear, for having spotted that "detail". Not that is so difficult to see, and yet, many self-appointed critics here failed to see it. Thence, many "bad technique" or "bad feet" inept comments from people I strongly suspect couldn't do this half as well. Or even grab the bar properly. I just wish people could restrain from comment on things they obviously don't quite grasp. But of course, I'm dreaming...

      @@stefani1637 Oh, is she wearing Gaynors? They do die eventually, but hers look like dead paste shoes to me. If they are Gaynors it could be a softer shank than shes used to/needs, not enough support plus the way they're pre arched can make it hard to work with one that's too soft.

    Just fyi for the people saying she's unbalanced/messy or whatever, her shoes literally died during this performance. Watch some of the beginning then skip to the end and you'll notice. They're much softer than they were at the end so her footwork isn't as controlled. These things happen. Props to her for getting through it while still looking beautiful

    For me, this is the Ultimate performance. The nuanced looks at suitors, magnificent performance and her 'look' are beyond perfection. The corps de ballet look wonderfully happy in their support for the princess and she is graceful and utterly compelling to watch. Her technique is unlike many other ballerinas, Notably Aurelie Dupont but this dancer really looks the part of a blissfully happy 16 yr old on her birthday, with shy glances and truly inspiring dancing. Margot Fonteyn was renowned for her artistic interpretation and in this perfomance, Myriam Ould-Braham has perfected style, technique and superb artistic interpretation. Perfection!

    Perfect. My favourite of all. She looks like a fizzy, slightly awed 16 yr old on her birthday. Her dancing is utterly sublime and any comparison with other ballerinas leaves her sitting firmly, in my opinion, at the very highest pinnacle for the ballet is expressive as well as technical

    Cette version est la plus compliquée qu'il soit! Myriam Ould Braham est la seule et unique danseuse que j'aie vu exécuter la diagonale d'arabesques sans appui, même Aurélie Dupont prend appui sur les danseuses du corps de ballet!

      Myriam était tendue à cause de la camera mais elle était plus à l'aise dans les actes 2 et 3. Une belle danseuse cependant sur le plan technique dupont est meilleure ca ne fait aucun doute.

    Myriam Ould-Braham is one of the best Etoiles from Paris Opéra. The point shoes are not broken because in this yeard she was wearing Gaynor Minden. And how you can see in her debut, she was absolutely amazing and she still stunning, even more. She just had a bad day. She is a person, a ballerina and we don't know if she was worry about something of life, etc. Maybe she felt so much pressing about the live streaming. I don't know. But I'm so happy that she is wearing Bloch now. She was absolutely beautiful in Freed but I this Bloch give to her more stability and durability ❤❤

      Her other performances presented in YT like pas de quatre in Swan Lake seemed to show more of her arch. Whatever the shoe she was wearing back then really made her arch stand out but in here it didn’t.

    • @liobu3097
      @liobu3097 4 года назад

      I know I don’t have to agree but Bloch really limits the exhibition of a dancer’s feet. Myriam Ould-Braham, Maria Khoreva are amongst them. Watching MOB’s pas de quatre in Swan Lake shows she has really good arch and for Khoreva, her barre workouts in RUclips is evident that her feet is beautiful but when these two dancers dance with Bloch, their feet isn’t well exhibited.

Giselle where she comes completely off point and she continues on demi point Her Classical Variation is quite forgettable. Ironically enough in this French Aurora it is so believable that she is a teen and not a totally controlled, perfect woman. Her looks at her suitors are so well done.
