The hardest thing about a trip to Italy, is deciding which town to go to!!! Every part of Italy looks so beautiful!!! Thank you for this video!! Your videos are a big help in planning our first trip in Sept. We were going to do Florence , Vico Equense, and Rome!!! If only we had more time to go to Lake Como, Genoa, Puglia, Sicily.....the possibilities are endless!!!

Great video as always Gregor. We first went to Italy it was for our 25th wedding anniversary (we are back in Rome later this year for our 38th wedding anniversary) and like you fell in love with the country. Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples and Sorrento all visited. We love the people who are so friendly which is why I learnt the language, we love the food, wine scenery history. Travel is so good especially the trains. We simply love Italy.

I'm going to Italy for 2 weeks next month. Since you asked what I'm most excited to see, there are two things. Firstly, I'm really excited to go to Volterra and see the Etruscan ruins and how the city evolved over the course of thousands of years. Secondly, I'm really excited to go to Dario Cecchini's butcher shop and "see" how much steak I can eat without throwing up.

@@alessandroroveda2859 We're staying at an Agriturismo 15 minutes away from San Gimignano and I've already got our tickets to go to the Civic Museum and to climb Torre Grossa. I'm also very interested in going to Monteriggioni, partially for the history but, honestly, mostly because I loved AC2 back in the day and I've always wanted to go to Monteriggioni since then. But yeah, both are on the list.
Panzano is a beautiful little town surrounded by vineyards, and the experience of going there for the butcher is almost as good as the steak itself! 🥩🍷

Wow....at the seconds 0.15 ....it's Tellaro in Liguria Region.....really really Wonderfull, especially in September/October with very few tourists and You can go to the seaside and.....the beaches are all for You .

There are so many beautiful places, I can't make up my mind where to live. I'm thinking Tuscany, Umbria, or Lazio. Would like to live in a small town near a metropolis. Any ideas! All of those regions are great, and it really depends on what you’re after. My suggestion would be to stay in an Airbnb for six months before you decide to rent or buy.
If I may, I recommend you take a look in the Lake Garda area (Desenzano etc.). It's a wonderful area, very "Italian style" and you have everything close by (airports, cities, amusement parks, etc.). You're at the lake but you're two hours from the sea. It is a "second homeland" for the Dutch and Germans, the Americans should start to get to know it.
@ProfumoDiSanremo It is definitely a beautiful area that I was just there a month ago but it is crowded and prices are pretty high there. But definitely, the Lakeside is stunning and plenty of great little café spots.
@@GregorBrown Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) all of Italy is very touristy and where there is tourism there is a bit of "speculation".

You never know what the weather but I hope it is good for you. And if you have a car, you could consider some smaller towns in the countryside like I did or move around for different nights otherwise Bari is a good option.

The only thing that's not great about Italy is the swarms of tourists. But there are so many wonderful places to go that you can easily avoid the tourists if you're not worried about seeing all the famous attractions.

How were you able to emigrate to Italy? Do you have dual citizenship? Anyway, I loved all the points you made in this video. I'd add one more. Italy has the sort of vibe the US had 50 years ago. It's so safe and there is a sense of community that you don't easily find in the US anymore. I feel like my kids are growing up here the same way I did back in 1970s Massachusetts.
It's changing here too, but it's still a great place. I moved over on a short visa, stayed, stayed and stayed. (I should probably leave at some point!)

@@gabrielesantucci6189 You're misunderstanding me too. I meant that my kids are far more independent here in Italy than American kids of the same age are in the way that I was independent when I was a kid. Here they can ride their bikes around and I feel ok because people are looking out, we know all our neighbors, and I don't feel anxious about them being out on their own. In the US we barely knew our neighbors, kids are not out on their own until they are in their teen years, and there is always a concern they will get into trouble. Unless you have lived in both countries like I have, you won't truly understand how wonderful it is here in that regard. I don't mean that Italy is not as developed as the US at all. On the contrary, I feel like there are many ways that Italy is past the US.
I apologize with you if i misunderstood your conment. However...it's not exactly safe even in italy to leave children alone on the street. Obviously it's different if in a big city or in a small town. Unfortunately, even here , things have changed a lot and children usually not left alone on the streets...not anymore. Ciao😉👍
