So, the other day, I found myself in the same aisle at a grocery store, as a colorfully dressed transparently veiled, obviously African, light skinned lady, carrying on a phone conversation as she shopped. Her features suggested she might be a member of the Fulani ethnic group, and I happened to be standing next to her when there was a lull in her conversation so I politely inquired where she was from … she gave me a look like Koi as if to ask “What do you want?” except she pointed to her ear and snapped “I’m in (not “on”) the phone!” then stormed off, muttering something in her language that I bet was unprintable😂
