In this Complete Beginner's Guide to Elin, I start a brand new game so you can play along with me as I explain the very basics of the game, drawing on my own experience and the great advice I have received from viewers. This guide is non-spoilery, and does not focus on the "best" or "fastest" builds, perfection, speed runs, but rather lays out the fundaments of the UI, the controls, how to fight, skill, craft, explore, build, some tips and tricks, and the overall strategy of the game so you can best enjoy it on your own terms. I don't prescribe a singular method, but rather expose the tools and shortcuts in the game so you enjoy Elin at your own pace!

You can equip weapons on you hand Icons in your armor section to get their special abilities, like the bonus to lumberjack. Ablities like that don't work otherwise because you can't cut down trees with a combat ax as far as I can tell. Atleast I believe that's how it works.
