Yeah I loved this game when I played it back a few years ago on the xbox one, it has a lot of elements in it and another mad max game and movie would be awesome.
I think maybe the Series X updates the effects too because this runs in 1440p 120fps on my Series X. Im intrigued to know more how the Series X is optimizing games!
@@KeN_The_SaMuRaii Mad Max never was 1440p. If you set your Xbox to 1440p, your monitor always shows 1440p - even when playing 1080p content. It's upscaled. So when you set your Xbox to 4K, your TV will show 4K even when playing a 900p game. The upscaling does seem to enhance picture quality a tiny bit tough.
The fps boost + improved input latency on the new controllers are an actual game changer for this game. I liked this game before but it was so laggy on XB1, now it's litterally a different experience, so smooth and loads so fast.

Mad Max is an underrated gem. quite literally one of the best games I've ever played in last gen. the game doesn't have any depth. but it's just that much fun.
I think this game achieves great depth through its incredibly immersive environments and fantastic gameplay. Sure, the story could have been a bit better, but I didn't really find myself caring too much about that. I was too busy having a blast.
I loved every minute of this game - one of the best from last gen. I'm not going to replay it, but I really hope we get something in a similar vein this generation.
Unfortunately it came out the same week as Metal Gear Phantom Pain. The frame rate did struggle on the original Xbox One so I did not complete until I got my One X. Boy, did it shine with that boost in power as Im sure it does on Series X. There is a lot of repetition but its all so much fun with a really large map. And yes, the car combat is absolutely insane and a blast. Originally it was being developed in conjunction with Mad Max Fury Road but some things fell through so its not a complete companion to the film. No matter...do yall self a solid and try it out
I really wish the servers were back up for this game or they patch the Up to the Task achievement as scrap crews don't collect offline anymore and I only need that for 100%. But a great game all the same.
@@MetalGearyaTV I would agree there. Going to 1/4 the resolution just to double the frames. 60 is still smooth and acceptable. Just bought a 4k/60hz monitor instead of a 1440/144hz like I had. I actually bought the 1440p monitor first and it died in 3 hours. After some thinking I went with a 4k/60. I do have a TV capable of 120 so I play the 120 games on there.
@@MetalGearyaTV 4K is only good if you have a big screen for it & sit far back. Anything smaller like a 27" PC monitor, stick with 2K. My 2K screen is indistinguishable from my mate's 4K 50" TV. The exact same pixel density, it's all in the ppi & distance.
I can play this game for free cause of PS + on ps5 at 30 fps, or buy it on xbox and play it at 120fps.. kind of a no brainer, crazy how fps boost can be a game changer

They just took the original resolution and applied FPS Boost. They sadly make no adjustments to the game, just trick it into running at a higher frame rate.

The graphical improvements as well as the FPS are a huge and extremely noticeable upgrade from the Xbox one x. I’m now playing it via an m.2 nvme ssd running through external usb 3.1 adapter (claims 3.1 but doesn’t seem to make any difference from the older 3.0 adapter I used before that was only 10$ nor that noticeably different from the sata to usb 3.0 external ssd since the bottle neck is the usb) I’m wondering if there are any other games anyone can recommend that get this much of a noticeable graphical/FPS boosts (non series x enhanced) that will run off and ssd via usb?

They should have targeted 1440P60, instead of going to a 1080P120. This is not a competitive First Person Shooter, like Destiny. So 120 Hz is simply unnecessary for a Open World Game like this.
thats not how these FPS boosts are implemented, they aren't touching resolutions. A resolution boost would be up to the publisher & developer to go back and patch into the game. (Warner Bros in this case) Microsoft is simply fooling their consoles to draw another frame, in many cases from 30 fps to 60 fps. (and some games from 60 fps to 120 fps) I guess microsoft is testing each game to see how it would do with a double frame-rate and the results prolly vary a lot. But some games that got the "One X" enhanced versions last gen, are surprisingly able to keep 4k and still double to 60 fps. (such as AC Rogue Remastered or Shadow of the Tomb Raider, both 4k & 60 fps)
necessary is such a strong word. the smoothness of 120 feels great with any type of game. been playing Ori in 120 and its great even though it's not 'necessary' either. I would agree 1080p was so yesterday. I don't want it any more than I want 30 fps.

The world design and little details that have gone into some of the hideouts / encampments in this game are phenomenal

I had issues timing the counters on the Xbox One but since getting a Series X and the FPS boost I’ve noticed it has improved a lot.

Another one with great racing fights is Rage 2. I remember saying it felt like mad max (the movies because I hadn't really played the game yet).
