    Now 100 NM in a day, that’s a nice round number! I wonder if Columbus got to America because he kept wanting to see what was the next anchorage around the corner? 😎

      Hi Bruce I think it was the same thing, he just wanted to see what was over the horizon lol mike

    "I could do this all day", you said. Well, me too - watch your videos off-course! And you guessed it right, "Cos I love it". Thanks a lot for this magnificent work. You are bringing the beauty of your waters and their islands, especially to me that had no idea of such! I must correct you, I'm sorry to say, that island is not a big cake but a loaf of cornbread baked weekly by my grandmother. Obrigado, homem do mar.

      Alvaro ha ha ha your grandmother must have some oven! But your probably correct. Will think of it now as a cornbread loaf lol mike

It is a hidden gem. Palnackie a fishing port is another favourite of mine.Nice to see Capt Lisa! Regards Crawford

    Great to see and hear your dear crew! Could you give some idea of distance off when you show the shoreline? It would complement your most excellent commentary. Thank you for taking us along your summer cruise.

    I have worked on the basic idea that a sailing yacht never has an ETA only a destination. You proved that wrong on this passage!
    From now on, my planning will include ports of Advantage as well as ports of Refuge along the way 🤣

    • @sailingcosiloveit
      @sailingcosiloveit  2 года назад +2

      Hi Nick to be honest I mostly stay firm to my passage plan but cos the weather if flexible I find I must be as well. Shortening and running for cover or taking advantage when it’s fine. I’m not sure if this will work for everyone but it works for me. Regards mike

    18 hours thats a fair stint Spratt Jarrow hahaha. Your clips are giving me the motivation to get my little trailer sailer ready for summer, I can't wait to sail her down the coast, park her on a secluded small coastal beach, surrounded by steep cliffs which lead up to private farm land. It's inaccessible to the public from land, also the farmer up top can't get down to the little beach, there's only one way in. Another good clip mate, you've definitely got the knack for making your sailing adventures enjoyably watchable

      Hi Dean, you need to be getting a move on as summer can be only too short. It seems to come and go in the blink of an eye. The anchorage your talking about seems an ideal place. I bet it’s popular for boaters of all kinds. Thanks for the kind words mike

    Great to see you again. I was concerned that you had become virtual Landlubbers with your week in port. But everything looks wonderful now coz everyone knows that "Happiness Comes in Waves" and it is clear from your voice that is true.

      Hi Dave, was a little worried to say the least not being able to depart Troon cos of the weather. Now I’m trying to look at the forecast for next week and fear the same thing may happen again. Some drastic moves coming up I’m sure. Missing our coffee breaks mike

    If you should cross the bay to Whitehaven, there is an excellent shop with a marvelous selection of home made cakes, called the "Silly Goose" it's half way up the 2nd block along Hope Street (opposite Maiden Marine Chandlery pier) on the LHS at Postcode: CA28 7ER - Nom, Nom, Nom!

    lovin your videos! you have such a unique style with your narration over the audio. They're surprisingly relaxing for some of the sailing you actually do! I just thought it might be worth pointing out that the audio behind your narration when you speed up the clips is really distracting. Otherwise they're great and you def have a new sub/ viewer :)

    Kirkcudbright looks nice , what's the depth like at LW on the visitor pontoon .

    • @sailingcosiloveit
      @sailingcosiloveit  2 года назад

      Hi Simon it’s very very nice there. We had over 2 meters at low mid way between neaps and springs. Very soft mud below that. A local said the pontoon always keeps a depth as the river is continues to flow into it when the bar has dried outside. There are local boats with 4-6 ft draft who are very happy there all year so maybe don’t go much below 2 meters even in springs cos of the bar holding the water in. Regards mike
