Thanks, this is a great inspiration for me, as I will soon receive my Z5 which I will use with vintage lenses only !!! Im a thrilled...All the best in 2024 🙂
Really nice video, the GoPro style reminds me a lot of Faizal Westcott who's also worked a lot in Manhattan. I've looked at the Nikon Z5 today in case I ever need a digital body for my OM lenses, but right now I really love using the OM-2. Are the frames around your shots added in post? Cheers from Copenhagen 🇩🇰
Thanks for the comments Christian! I would consider the Z6ii instead, it's worth the extra money. I sold my Z5 already, it's so bad in low light. Yes, the frames are added in post in DxO PhotoLab 5.
Hey! Great video! So does the EVF actually show you the actual exposure even with the manual aperture changing? As in, does it show you the actual "final image" in the EVF even before you snap the shot, like other mirrorless cameras with AF lenses?
Hi Ken, thanks! Yes it does. Aperture priority mode works just as you’d expect it to. Apparently it’s not completely accurate in the EVF under all circumstances, but I didn’t run into that really with the Z5 or now with the Z6ii.
@@ken_cham if you shoot in daylight only, then go for it. But if you shoot in low light at all, please consider the Z6 or Z6ii instead. The Z5 can’t focus in low light if you ever want to use AF lenses, and the EVF turns into a noisy mess. Even inside your house under normal nighttime lighting. Z6ii has no problems like that.
@@joeltunnah yes so I heard. Thankfully I don’t do much night photography. Can’t even remember the last time I took photos at night. That considered, and my budget. I’ll probably still be happy with the z5!
Hey! Question. I can’t seem to find where to allow manual lenses on the Nikon Z. I’m trying to change aperture on a canon EF manual lens with electronic contacts but can’t find it on my Z7ii
Hey Joel. You just set your Z7 to “manual” AF mode, put the camera in either A or M mode, and adjust the lens aperture manually. No other modes are possible. If you want image stabilization, set the focal length and max aperture data in the wrench menu, “Non CPU lens data”. Also make sure you have the EVF/LCD set to show the actual exposure all the time. Hope that helps.
@@joeltunnah but the lens doesn’t have aperture. It has manual focus control but the apuerture it’s supposed to be changed with the front dial and it’s not changing
@@JoelRiveraMD ah ok. You said it was a “manual lens”, so I misunderstood. Well, then you need an EF to Z “smart” adapter that passes the electrical signals correctly. Check B&H, I see Viltrox and Fotodiox make them… expensive though.
@@joeltunnah I have the EF to Z adapter. But one of my nikon Z cameras is changing the aperture perfectly but the other camera is not. One is setup somehow to change the aperture on manual lenses but the other one is not doing the same .
@@JoelRiveraMD what specific lens are you trying to use? You keep saying “manual lenses”, but as far as I know there never were any manual EF mount lenses made by Canon.
Very very cozy and atmospheric photos. Warm as the hand of a beloved.
Thanks for watching.🙏🏻

The photo at 1:58 touched my heart, what a moment. Thank you for sharing.
What a nice comment, thank you! Sorry for the long delay responding.
In Moscow next week - 20 ° C, your video warms us😉👍👍
64°F here today!😉
Keep these coming. Well done.
Thanks so much Robert!
I am waiting for a Full Frame ZFc for all my AIS glass. :)
Me too Terry!😉
Until then the Z6ii with FTZii is working nicely. I sold the Z5 due to its poor low light AF, and noisy EVF.

@@joeltunnah Good to know, thanks! I'm looking forward to checking out your other videos ✌
You only need a simple adapter OM-to-Z! I use the Zuikos 28 mm and 100 mm on my Z5 (besides old Nikons Canons and Zeiss)
@@WMedl yes, the Fotodiox Pro, OM to Z is pretty good quality.
