This was incredibly informative. I have several pages of notes. I have been caught up in the things that didn't matter (yet) and it had me ALL over the place. The labels, the website, the name. Instead of focusing on the one thing that matters as I'm starting this journey, make the perfect candle. Thank you for posting these videos, they are invaluable. I can't stop watching.
Hey Matt. Thanks so much for the valuable and positive feedback. I appreciate it. I did the same when I first started. Over time I realized my mistakes which is one of the reasons I make videos and help others now. Passing on some lessons I learned through experience. ;) Glad you are here. Thanks for your support!
I liked the outdoor theme of this video. Nice property! I liked hearing more of your story. I think a lot of men start off in this business because of a significant other, lol!
I came to you from Memory Box Candle. My son and I plan on starting a business thank you for all the videos. We are watching and watching to learn. We bought a started kit from Standley’s page, So we have made them and had sooo much 🤩 fun.
I absolutely love your story. I started the process of candle making years ago. I don’t know how I found you but I’m glad I did. Your videos are easy to follow and you have inspired me to try candle making again. I know this time it’s going to be much better. May God bless you.
Thank you for elaborating on the pricing. I see so many people complaining about sales. Now you explained It’s more important to become known in the beginning!
❤ Thanks Dania. Yep, thats my opinion anyway. Don't put the cart before the horse ya know. Easier to sell when people know you and have had a chance to try your products.
Hi wade! Newbie here! Just setup a workstation to start with my candle making and testing process this week. I I have to say, I’m excited but so nervous. Anyhow, just wanted to thank you for all of the informative videos. I’m so glad I found you, memory box candle co, the candle collective, etc. So great to have help, support and information from you all along this journey. So…thanks again!
Wow what a great lesson. I love your idea of pricing your candles to sell first. Never thought of it like that but I totally agree with you on that point. It doesn't really matter how much you're going to profit if nobody is going to buy from you. Thanks a lot.
I have been “re-binging” your videos to inspire me for 2023. This was one of my favorites!! So much info and love the relaxed atmosphere. All your videos are incredible and I really appreciate all of them. I have been struggling with pricing and you put it into prospective, so thank you! Happy New Year.
Thank you Wade. The information and teaching you provide are invaluable. Appreciate your candidness and honesty in everything you share. I don't know how anyone could do this without these videos! So well done! Beautiful property too!
Omg! The more I watch the better your videos get! Again, I would love to hear more about the sales side. Like how to calculate price thinking down the road. Tips on where you think it is smart to think about keeping cost low. Buying locally, lids, wicks, boxes for shipping, website,. Just throwing what I have in mind. I'm so glad I came here. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for sharing your wisdom with us!!
Great tutorial I’ve learned a lot today I’m interested in getting into the business mostly for myself right now because I absolutely love love love candles. I will be following you for updates on business tips as well if I decide to take it that way.
Just found the channel and love it so far. As for me im just thinking about ordering my first batch of supplies within a couple months and see if I can make something just for myself. To be honest a bit intimated right now with the whole idea of starting this journey.
Oh my goodness! I am so glad I found you. You are exactly what I needed. I KNEW there was something wrong with the pricing theory. That's the only thing about watching these videos because everyone is different. I just found a girl in Europe, last week, who was able to finally help me understand how to find my customer base, (and she just started her business less than six months ago). I have my channel favorites and that is because many times they can "mickey mouse" information for me that others don't, (I think they try to make themselves sound as if they have true knowledge). But there are so many other times my gut will tell me that they're wrong; the upsetting part is that it takes so long for me to find the one channel that proves it. So for the 4th time, I think it is now, THANK YOU!
Thanks for much for that detailed feedback Denise. You are right, lots of different situations and opinions out there. Definitely not ever shoe fits every foot. We each have to find what is best for our business. I just happen to notice a lot of new candle makers overpriced early on and it holds them back. Glad you enjoyed this video!
Thank you so much for sharing this info. I've heard several ways to price my products and I decided 3xs my cost was comfortable for me. I just started making candles around 6 months ago. I am going to reconsider some of my costs because you really made a lot of sense on this subject. You have an absolutely beautiful place too.😊
Thanks Rhonda! And, I didn't want to suggest that 3x or 4x was wrong. There is nothing wrong with it and it makes sense. Just that... starting out, sometimes there are better ways of thinking about it. The math formulas work much better once full establishes and large enough to buy such large bulk that your own costs go way down. Thanks for being here.:)
Love it ... you named your Koi fish. Love it love it love it! Oh, and grreat tips BTW too. And love it how candles are intrinsic to your family too girlfriend-to- wife :-) Love it ... all around!!!
Wade, this is a great, awesome video again!! I love that I can feel how honest you try to be. Please please please can you make a video more about pricing the candles, tips on how to calculate cost of the candle, etc
Thanks for your videos! I've been making and selling a few years but took this year off to test and relaunch. I found your videos at the right time and they helped me a lot as I've been gearing up for going live with sales on Black Friday. Thanks again
Awesome man! Good luck to you. You picked a good time to get back into pushing sales around the holidays. And kudos for taking some time off to do more testing! Awesome.
Thank you for saying all of this. I have focused on the wrong this first - getting my logo, registering my name etc etc and you’re right I need to focus my energy where it counts first. Loving all your videos and been following you for a few months
Thank you Wade this info gives me some peace and encouragement. I’m in the testing phase and feeling a little discouraged and rushed because I have a goal business launch date of February 2021. I’m ok with extending that date since it’s important to me to have good quality and performing candles. I just have to remember that ☺️ I get so excited about it all!

Hey Wade, thanks for this, such good advice for starting out in the candle business. I've been doing all that fussing and worrying over my logo, labels etc as well as all the testing and it can be a bit overwhelming. I'll take your advice and focus on the testing and niche first. I think I've got two successful test candles in the fragrances I like now. Great video again, especially the advice on pricing, so many stick rigidly to the x2 and x4 formula and it's why many fail.
