Comparing my early (month 1) Baiken play vs my more recent play (more than a year of playing her). Looking back, reviewing matches and talking about a bunch of the ideas that have come up while playing her.

if I made a big baiken guide, what would you want to see?
(also pls subscribe)
Mix ups off ground throw,option selects you find to be valuable,game plan against bad matchups(Faust), and any useful lesser known tech.
Tournament combos, oki loop, tether strategy, WA usage, what/when to parry, gun tech. Matchup tech would be great, but that could be a dozen videos.
Hard knockdown and throw oki setups!
can you show your oki setups with tether, i tend to struggle with the timings on the crossups :)
How to deal against pressure please.
The switch to Baiken is a big plus for your mental health. Putting in twice the effort in competitive matches was taking its toll. I've only been around for a few years, but I could see that. We'll never forget the first two weeks of Baiken teetering back-and-forth in neutral cause you got dat Millia in you.
I remember I used to main xrd pot and would always blame the character when something went wrong. After switching to chipp i can ask what I could do different instead. Even if they are low tier you need to believe in your character I think for good mental

I found my fun in fighting games after listening to you talk about labbing and building out Baiken in the early days of the character swap. I had never really gotten into fighting games at a serious level, but after watching you on stream reviewing matches or spending time in training mode, I learned how much I enjoy doing that myself with my characters in the various games I play.

@@crimsonpotemkin instead of restanding the opponent it knocks them back. Kills her conversions off of j.s and hurts consistency with the move in general. Cross up youzansen is pretty much the same tho
You can barely get a combo out of it even if it's a counter hit. Unless you're near the corner or have meter/wild assault
They made it less braindead.
@@hakumenx1 its wild how much people hate baiken, a character that isn't and never was top tier in Strive. Does it really hurt your feelings to lose to baiken with your easy mode nago, lewis and ram?
Dang that last statement really resaonated with me cause I feel that for a game like Smash Ultimate for example who has a huge rooster, but not a lot of people developing a certain character or haven't been given the chance to shine. Very cool video/mini discussion, gave me some ideas on how I could go about with some characters I play
I remember that video about switching to Baiken, I’m glad that it worked out for you
Excellent video and analysis of your gameplay over the past 1-2 years. Love that you really think about the decision making process and the reasoning behind those decisions. I think that how you remove certain parts of your gameplay that's not as effective but is very common practice among other baiken players really elevates the character to a higher level of play. More people should do this with their characters rather than just say something is op or bad and only do surface level reasoning.
You convinced me to pick her up when she came out so this is just amazing to see
I appreciate your honesty recognizing her flaws(esp in S3). Was discussing this with my friends because I thought I was the only one who noticed (some of them did too)

I came to ggst in season 2 and what they did with yozansen hit me hard. But I’m still here and I’m glad that you don’t either. PS it would be great if they brought back the old yozansen and added baiken command dash in future updates
I think it would be helpful if they changed the launch arc for YZS to have the opponent land closer to the player and so one could connect a 2S on a normal tk hit. This could in turn help with conversions and consistency for Baiken.

Now that you have grown to understand her strengths and flaws in this retrospective, what would you ask Arcsys for when it comes time for her to get her new move like the rest of the cast? Gap close, pressure, range, mix, air option, etc. Because "better conversion" could be handled with frame data and hitboxes. What "skill" does she need? For example a mix up air option or gassed up parry follow up (that she doesn't need but I love parry so it would be funny).
Suzaran like move for her demon dash ass cross ups is something simple but fun I’d enjoy
@@peterpansie5The follow up on her H Kabari is already intended to be a Suzuran like because it's a dash attack with variable range and timing that can also cross up. it's much more restrictive than actual suzuran but giving her a second Suzuran like skill might not be the play.
@@steffanhymer1285 I wouldn’t consider it the same since it’s not very usable in mixup and only side switches at a certain distance but I see what you mean. Air kabari loops are super fun so I would also love that move to return
i recall a tweet of LK saying he'd like a meterless anti zoning tool of some kind a while ago.

Wait hold on clean hit Gun is still in the game??? Didn't the last big patch had a note saying they removed the bugg when gun sometimes hit an extra time???
I think they should make it so baiken has to frc yzn like in accent core

As a baiken main, having a character with short range and a lot of players just walking back and being defensive- baikens strenght is counters and being able to pry open peoples defense. I believe her primary strength lies in making sure they are unable to run away. I have been having success with making sure all my combos end in them tethered.

We NEED a up-to-date baiken guide. Last relevant one was the one you posted 2 years ago when the character first came out
I noticed LordKnight doesnt really use counters as he mentioned kabari and tatami the only options you can use to cancel. i also like to cancel with hiiragi.

Millia has been getting close to winning online tournaments lately.
Same can't be said about Baiken. She only sometimes makes it to top 8 but even then she never makes it past the first match of top 8.
It's a big bummer cuz I use those to farm for tech, and I'm getting more Goldy and Sol tech than my beloved booba tech

weird question but why do you sometimes whiff buttons when jumping on tether? I see you JP or sometimes JK when going for a tether mixup? Does it affect the tether’s mometum or is it just a swag apm thing
Current guilty gear just feels super snowbally, after you get in depending on your character its OVER.
I implore you, let the text on screen linger a bit longer of youre gonna have comments on gameplay while you talk about something else.

despising faust bruh wtf, that guy is even good in the game, some people hard carry that character to success but they are always rolling a boulder up a hill like Sisyphus.
