- I've enhanced the 1984 Week 4 game between the Bears and Seahawks. Recording was in pretty good shape, but lots of noise/compression in the picture. Was able to eliminate a ton of it using Topaz. Also doubled the framerate and upscaled the picture to 1080p. Then used Resolve to inject color back into the picture and to grade it correctly. You can see the before/after screenshots here -- imgbox.com/g/70s3fH8tGC -- My thanks to Fort Knox and his Seahawks RUclips channel -- www.youtube.com/@fortknox4740... -- for providing the DVD files for this project.

The 1984 Seahawks' 63 takeaways is an NFL record that I guarantee will never be broken
Never say never.
Walter Payton. Class act and I used to love the way he would carry the ball with one hand
Wow. Didn't realize that Bob Avelinni was still playing in '84.
Neither did I. When did McMahon get drafted?
@@blackfinjrblackfinjr3555McMahon was drafted in 1982 in the 1st round, 5th pick overall.
I didn't either, and I'm a Bears fan! Avelinni was GARBAGE. What happened to Steve Fuller and Rusty Lisch for this game??
@@djeanpierreLisch played in this game late. Fuller wasn't on the team yet.
Fuller hurt his shoulder in the preseason and was not available
Thanks for another great restoration...Seahawk defense was formidable against the Bears who were just a year away from dominance- the last hurrahs for Bob Avellini & Rusty Lisch
You did a nice job, thanks!
Dan Hampton was on fire this game
As a Seahawks fan I remember this game. The present and future was looking very bright for the Hawks at that point in time. I had no idea then that the Bears would have one of the most dominating seasons in NFL history a year later.
OMG! YES Dave, thank you for this one, I've always wanted to see this game in its entirety as I've never seen the full game before. Love watching Expansion era Hawks in the first decade of the Kingdome. The 1984 Bears before the historic 85 Super Bowl winning season as this was the Bears 2nd game ever in their navy blue pants after debuting them the week before in Green Bay.
That turf looks like playing on painted concrete.
1:39:00 Gary Fencik was one of the best tacklers in history. If he got more than a fingertip on you, you were down.
1:26:25 classic Largent highlight.
Was AWESOME
so many legends in this game and two stacked defenses! Paul Johns' career ended on that play, or he may have gone down as one of the best WRs in Seahawk history.
Great job. If you have the Redskins at Cowboys game from 83 that would be great. That was my first game I watched. 40 years on, still a big fan of the NFL.
Cowboys at Redskins MNF week 1 9/5/83 would get my vote....keep watching and liking.
@@romelovesdan Redskins 37, Raiders 35 of 10/2/83 is the greatest game I ever saw. I guess I should look for it.
@@larrymelman I intend to send the game to our host Mr. Volsky once I get a replacement DVD 2. Be patient. I love in-season "SB previews" or" rematches" the next year.
Kenny Easley was a dominant strong safety! Guy would take your head off!
Well done Dave. I hope you have some more 70s Steelers games on the horizon!!
I do :)
@@davevolskysbackdoor5673 TREMENDOUS!!!!!... AWESOME!!!
Fumbling was Matt Suehy’s calling card
Bob Avellini got fired after this game. It was a wonder that he was ever an NFL QB let alone for 9 years.
I saw quite a few Seahawks games in the Kingdome. Nothing else was quite like the crowd noise heard there.
Two great teams going against each other, it was unfortunate that the Hawks didn't get to a Super Bowl with this talented team. Bears made it the year after and this was their 2nd game in the new navy blue Super Bowl winning pants that they debuted in Green Bay the week before.
Great! 2 pretty solid playoff teams.
Among '84 Hawks signature wins from that year, given the opposition. As great as the Bears defense was in the '80s, the entire team's performance came down a notch whenever McMahon was injured. Their only loss during their championship season a year later was the famous MNF game against Marino and the Dolphins. McMahon was injured that night and didn't play.
Actually McMahon did play vs the Dolphins
@@michaelbeale518 , nope, it was Steve Fuller under center that night. Bears/Dolphins would have definitely made for a better Super Bowl that year, but for the Dolphins stubbing their toe against the Patriots in the AFCCG.
@Shabba6884 Steve started, but Jim finished. He was three for six. He was the reason why Walter Payton got the NFL record for most consecutive 100 yard games. He ignored Mike Ditka's play, and handed the ball to Walter so could get the record.
@@michaelbeale518 , hmmm, I've rewatched the game before and I don't remember it. Point is, he didn't start and the Bears didn't win because of it. McMahon is the only true franchise QB the Bears have had during my lifetime.
@@Shabba6884 that's besides the point. Jim McMahon wasn't playing defense for the Bears the night the Dolphins played them.
Riverboat Ron sighting
Do you have the full game between the Seahawks and the Vikings that year? Franco had a couple of nice runs in that game I'd like to see them.
I do actually have that game in my collection to work on at some point. Maybe sooner now that you've brought it to my attention.
Just posted it Keith. Thanks for the inspiration! :) -- ruclips.net/video/QIizhOFSyBk/видео.html
Do you have the 1984 divisional round playoff game between the Bears and the Redskins.
Not in my current inventory.
@@davevolskysbackdoor5673 I have that on VHS somewhere. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else because I'm too lazy to look for it and rip it. BTW you have the best quality vids. 👍
Wow, this is the cleanest version of this game that I've ever seen. Every other version I've seen has been horrible!
Talk about losing the battle but winning the war. This game was the last time Bears fans had the "privilege" of watching Bob Avellini attempting to play QB. Man alive was he complete utter garbage.
