  • Welcome to the FordLogan woven wire mesh installation video on a Flex Panel Assembly.
The purpose of a flex panel is to fill an unknown space in the caging system that varies from 3”-12” and usually ends at a wall.
Before we begin, three ATD’s can be applied to the panel if needed. Next, attach the 7SJam to the end of the 7’ wire panel, sliding it into the base shoe as shown.
For spanning longer distances of 3”-12”, you will use a two-panel system. Begin by placing the short flange side of the sheet metal flex panel on top of the 7Sjam. Secure the short flanged side of the sheet metal flex panel to SJam and then to the 7' wire panel with five ¼” x 1 ¾” carriage bolts. Then finger-tighten with ¼” hex nuts.
Next, secure the second flex panel's long-flanged side to the long-flanged side of the first flex panel. You will notice several series of overlapping holes. Only one bolt per line of holes is needed and the location is dependent on the selected adjustment size. Secure the panels with ¼" x ½" carriage bolts, a ¼" flat washer, and then finger tighten with ¼" hex nuts.
For smaller distances of less than 3”, you will use a one-panel system. In this instance, after attaching the 7SJam to the ending of the wire panel, you will use four ¼” x 1” self-tapping screws to attach the long-flanged side of the flex panel to the side of the SJam spanning the distance of the gap, as shown here.
Most of the time, flex panels are used at a wall or another caging or partition system. Installers typically anchor the flex panels to these walls or structures. However, we do not supply the anchoring hardware.
This concludes the FordLogan woven wire mesh installation video on Flex Panel Assembly.
