Really prefer these no ob guides you do. Better showcase mechanics, and are for sure more impressive skill wise than stomping it with powerful weapons. Keep up the great work
Thanks for these! It’s helpful as someone who doesn’t have strong elemental builds to try to match this no OB account. I am not lvl 65 yet either. This is such a good resource for those of us who lag behind!
If you went hard on ice Seph and have bald eagle you don't even need quake magic at all. I went full Ice team with aerith snoflake, Ice seph and lucia bald eagle, took ice potency +40% and then full score, I popped all 3 mag atk up on Seph for the harder fights and I'm currently at 9th. Of course that won't hold up but the top 100 is guaranteed on the first try lol.
Obviously not everybody have a team as strong as this (I'm not f2p not a whale either, weapon used in this team are around OB4 to OB7) but I believe with a similar Ice setup at around OB3 you can finish top 100 easily just focusing on ice.
Good tip for building limit bar if you do a long cast skill right before charge up enemy attack goes through (even materia works to tho timing is even tighter) the enemy skill interrupts it but you still get limit break gauge and it refund your atb. Find it most useful on tifa for quick casting somersault and on characters that have summons to build up faster. It helped me allot while I was co-oping bahamut with healer tifa. Thanks to this video I was able to create a strategy centering around a sub lv 60 ice team (Seph/Aer/Luc) and defeated Ifrit in a glorious double suicide with Lucia barely surviving and landing the killing blow. Snagged 1.3 mil, which is low compared to the comments on this channel, but for someone that works all the time, has terrible gacha luck, and can't grind to 65, your insight was the only chance I would have at getting a solid rank. Currently 288 in my cohort with score of 2,096,905. Bless.

Although I can certainly imagine how much time it takes, I simply can't totally fathom how much time & effort you put in to these no OB runs. Not only to simply just get the best score for you, but to share it with everyone playing and showcase how everyone can succeed, even if they don't invest as much grind/time into it
I've been following along since the Unchained X/Union Cross days (subscribed on my personal acct), and I'm glad to be dialed in to a game we both share interest in again. I appreciate the work you put in.
Oh I will add for those looking for an extra bit of community advice: I went in with a level 53 Lucia, 62 Aerith and 61 Sephi with an overall pwr of 187k and cleared Ifrit before it even started it's Sigil phase with the extra ice potency boost from the first symbol fight. I have Bald Eagle and Snowflake, which made even my OB2 Edged Wings + Diamond Dust do massive damage to it, even with just 2 tiers of ice resist down
Got the S+ with 1.98mil total overall for the event with that primary set up, put full deets below in case it's helpful/anyone's interested. If they were all level 65, I could probably play riskier and go for top 100 this time around, but I'm satisfied with ~top 500. As a F2P, I'm really only concerned with the tickets anyway

Oh my goodness that made my day. But anyways, on topic with the event, I actually got a decent score the first lap around and I might just go for a better score for fun, to test the potential of my team.
thank you, i dont think i would have gotten that S+ without you! only difference i did was that i put everything on autoequip lol, even got an higher score than you. what helped me was the uses of item, what to choose between the buffs and debuffs after the battles and the route you went.. just thank you so much for explaining everything in an easy and understandable way

I'm really glad there's no cost to do HSC retries, if it actually took crisis dungeon tickets there's no telling how many crystals people would throw at this. As it stands, all it takes is some patience to get a run that follows the steps in this awesome guide
i got 1.752mil with my cloud , aerith , tifa setup and i literally just made a team like this one LOL. this is the first rank event where i will need to actually do some work or fall below 100 . my setup is pretty similar but my barret is all support with no magic attacks . im certain it will work better because i almost wiped the twin out earlier with aerith / bahamut and tifa / shiva . if i had gotten my quake off i would have clear it with no dmg! bout to test it later again :D
Your score is higher than mine and I do Overboost. Problem is my Ice setup is not too good. Will try some combinations. Again and always Thanks for your awesome guide.
They should add the points cost on the items, visible for everyone when about to be used.

On your no overboost account i feel like its over nerfing yourself. Even on my f2p account i have max OB weapons and a bunch of OB6’s. I guess im saying OB1 for the potency might be an easier rule lol 😅

Oh for sure! I just like the challenge and it shows you don't need much in this game to play.
In the top 50 sure I will stay in top 100 but would love to see the no healer run.

Why Barret and not cloud I was hoping you would of had cloud tiffa and aerith may need to try cloud with your Barret set up and make some adjustments keep getting a+ with my current setup my quake must be a bit weak.
