this movie will not let me go. i need the deleted scenes. and then the sequel. and then one more. it's everything i was missing, anyway pls go stream the old guard on netflix a million times.

his words show anger, but his tone was more soft and sad. like he has watched his soulmate die a thousand times before, and each time fucking terrifies him because there's always the possibility that he's not going to wake up.

To me it also sounded like the tone you would use when scolding someone who acts like a child. Like it was something so obvious. "You put your hand on the hot stove. You shouldn't have done that." If you touch a stove, you get burned. Ever since stoves were invented that has been a fundamental truth. If you touch Nicky, you'll regret it. Ever since they found each other that has been a fundamental truth. That guy really was acting like a child to him, disrespecting a natural law that has existed for a thousand years.
The almost emotionless calm manner he said that, he knew the guy was a dead man, that he would have vengeance, he just calmly chastised the guy “you shouldn’t have done that,” before ending him. The cold effectiveness carried more emotion than had he screamed the words.

I love that little head bump they when they got kidnapped. It was literally only seconds but in that tiny moment you can how much they love each other. It's their little touches and glances like that that get me. 🥰

Yes, that was so romantic that Joe was more concern for Nicky, than his own self. Like the idea of him not waking up was more terrifying than being kidnapped. That is the definition of true love and I can see why, Luca, the guy that plays him, had stated that if they ever do a sequel, he would want them to stay together. Even those, this is not the first time, they had changed the perception of portraying openly gay characters as superheroes, from being an oddity to being something widely accepted.
I love how much the song matches with their relationship. For example some lyrics have such a special meaning like "breath with me" Being about them worrying that their soulmate won't wake up or like with "I hope that you don't bleed with me" hilghting that same fear. Then there is "we can stay here and laugh away the fear" Referring to them making each other laugh / making jokes during uncomfortable situations. That's some amazing editing skills!!
