Michelle was mistaken when she said gold manipulation is theory. In 1933 the US had to take the dollar of the gold standard because the world realized there was no chance that $20.67 US dollars could be exchanged for an ounce of gold. After seizing America's privately held gold Nixon set the gold price at $35 an ounce. Since then gold manipulation has only got worse. The US gold reserves are never audited and paper gold is leased to many countries so that they can all claim to own the same ounces. There is a reason that China and Russia are building up their physical gold reserves and they do not want the wests paper gold. There should be no doubt that central banks have manipulated gold prices and the government manipulation is even more blatant with silver.
Keep in mind that she has to finesse that topic some due to having a number of gold advocates on the show with strong opinions toward the growth of the asset class.
