Thanks. Do you have any experience of ECG yourself? - Someone in the comments said he paid 10,000GHs which is outrageous (even though it included 2 pole extension).
@@kingstal90 my building in Ghana has not reached a development phase where electricity is required but I have to say it again. The insights you are sharing are absolutely amazingly and thought provoking at the same time. Thank you
Just watched your very informative video from 10 months ago. As if often the case in Ghana, not everyone’s experience is the same, and what happens in one office may be different in another. I collected the form from the local ECG office (in my case, at Mampong, just north of Aburi) for free. They completed the inspection, meter installation, and wiring from the nearby pole in exactly 17 days.
Agree, it's annoying. As Kingsley mentioned, it's embedded in our culture, somehow. Some will just frustrate you, I don't know what some really think 🤔 really. It's sad.
I know how you are feeling, really. I ask myself how they feel asking such things. But better facing these things here in Africa, then living in an "open-prison".
I hope everything goes well with your new home. Thank you for the insight of your experience. I enjoy my Western culture too much to deal with that craziness. All the best to you both.
Sis, the " backdoor " process in doing things is rooted in our culture. It's about time we start naming and shame them on social media. Get the name of the corrupt official and let it fly. One backdoor official at a time
Hello Ash &Gad, I came across your presentation ft Vic. Camby, I would like to ask if you do undertake electrical installations. I'm interested in the power converters and the Automatic voltage regulator.
Hello, is the meter cost included in the breakdown pls? If not, how much did you have to pay for the meter. Pls let me know if that info can be found in the previous video because I might have might it. Thank you and great job
I don' t think it's a big deal to TIP, the worker before he asks , they are not being paid according to economics living standard in Ghana. Most workers in Ghana don't have good pension at old age .
I agree, but TIP is not compulsory, its a choice and if a customer decides not to tip, they should not suffer as a result. I know people who haven't tipped and waited almost 3 times longer and that is ridiculous. I do see your point of view to some extent though.
@@kingstal90 I remember meeting up with a friend at an Asian restaurant and after having a drink, the owner asked me to tip. I couldn't believe my ears. I was paying with a debit card and when I looked at the amount I was paying, I saw it was way up than what I was supposed to pay- he said the tip is included. I mean, seriously. I was so shocked. Ever since that experience, I have been extra careful. Some people are just crazy. And it happens not just in Africa, but outside too. People may not realise it but it's there;
@@kingstal90 I paid 500 cedis bribe to get electricity and another 500 for water. If you don’t pay, you won’t get it or you wait for almost a yr to get it. God help us with this corruption

The corruption going on at ECG is disappointing and shameful
Oh, and aunty looks beautiful as always 🌸🌺🤗

I love the way you explained things about the electricity and stuff 👌
He's so very good with his stuff. I think he should be lecturing Electrical Engineering at the Uni or somewhere mate. 😀👍🏼
Really, family you are doing amazing work. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 You leave me speechless each time I watch your updates.
Blessings to you and your family. 🌺🌸🤗

Embedded in the culture and that is why I decided to leave Africa alone.
Very educational.I have a electric pole very close to my house 🏠
Crystal looking extra beautiful!

All this is good to know❤️🙏🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🇬🇭✊🏽✊🏽🥰🥰
For sure
The situation is worse now than before, the addition of Energy Commission lnspectors, to the inspection team has compounded the delays even more
❓ do you need land documents to permit before installing electricity
Why do they have to pay for the forms please.

Please after paying for the 2400 for one pole extension are you going to buy the pole and the wires for the extension

I don't do the installations myself. I am a design consultant and construction project manager
@@kingstal90 thanks very much for getting back to me. I will get in touch in due course.

Included
Please you did not talk about the COST of ECG SERVICE Line from Source to your House .
Your petro finsh then you walk these are the type of pp that Ghana cannot move forward
100% agree
Oh my God! I paid almost 10,000gh for electricity (ie 2 poles, contractor, 3 meters processing and other things. In total 10,000gh.
Wow, thats a huge amount.
Tampering with the meter is a crime that can cost more than necessary when convicted.
Have you ever watched or heard of Green Acres...😀😀😀. You will find that bureaucracy is the same . At least your know what is expected there.
No please, it's not in our culture. Just that some are selfish and corrupt.
It actually has become a culture when everyone is doing it and has become accepted, this one thing I hope for government to try and fix
@@kwamenyame5628 actually our GH needs a good restructuring.
