- Today I wanted to show a couple little tricks I have for rhinestone placement, how I crimp my acrylic brushes and some acrylic application! The clear acrylic I used is from Young Nails and the glitter acrylic is from@SUGARDECLIPSENails shop Mystic Krylix. I genuinely love her products and recommend them to those of you who like using acrylic as a medium and I love that she does custom orders as well! Her website is mystickrylix.b...

@stephaniecotton4688 that's awesome that you're wanting to start posting your videos! I record on a camera and don't know a whole heck of a lot about iPhones either, unfortunately, lol. Can you take your memory card in and out of your phone? For recording, I would get a larger sized memory card for your phone if you can take one in and out (like I said i dont know much about iphones) and just use that solely for your videos. That way, you don't have to worry about running out of space, and you can take your time and then edit them down when you're done. Or you can just record the parts you think are the most important and leave out things like part of filing, curing things, etc. What medium do you use when you're doing your nails? Hard gel, acrylic, polygel? Xoxo
@@HaleyDawn85 hard gel and acrylic, not a big fan of polygel, though dip nails and polygel are what I started with. I got a great manicure in AZ that made me fall in love with acrylics. The monomer gives me headaches but I still love doing them on my sister. I use hard gel now mostly, at least on myself and the little clientele I have going on. If they ask for acrylics that’s what they get. Thank you so very much for reaching out to me, I really appreciate your time and help

I've always been one of those people who needs to see things first before I do them so I can make sure I like it, and it really does help get those brain juices flowing too, haha. I forgot to put in the photos of the sparkle that those colors have, but they sparkle sooo much. I want to try that reflective mauve that you used in your video. It looks STUNNING, and I've never seen a reflective cover color like that. The double-sided tape has helped me so much over the years, I do that with my charms too so I can see what I have and don't forget about which ones I've got lol. Those are Stunning 😍 I use Sensational Step 2 Peel off and my nails last until I take them off. And I use Murron on my toes and you can just peel the gel polish off.

That pink acrylic is gorgeous! Thank you for the suggestion of crimping the brush. I haven’t started yet but when I do I assume that will help. These nails are absolutely stunning! I love them..and you 💜🥰
And I looove you! If you try crimping the brush, definitely start off soft and then go a little harder if you need to. That way, you don't tweak the ferrule and spread the bristles too much and get a funky shape, lol. You are amazing, Linda and I appreciate you tons and tons!

Thanks for doing this! I have bought some rhinestones but been too chicken to try them. Recently bought a plate to stamp an image for stone placement. Hope that, plus this video, gets me over my anxiety. I just need to pull the trigger!
Yes! If you're worried about wasting them, lay them out first. You can lay them on a tobake or where ever you do your nails so you can visually see what they'll look like all together first and then once you like how they're set up you can place them on your nails. It always helps me to see them first. I do that more than I just freely place them. And you can always look at photos for reference. There is a TON online, so you can get some ideas that way also. They'll be great once you finally do them, and I'm sure you will love the crap out of them when you do. You are so awesome. I hope you're having a beautiful day. I appreciate you so much. Xoxo

Ahh, yes, curly hair and nail decorations! Gahhh. You could use caviar beads around them to fill in gaps so that doesn't happen! I have really long hair, and using a thick gel and caviar beads helps tons! You are amazing, and I appreciate you so much! Xoxo

I can't do my nails without managing to spill something. Usually, it happens before I film or right after, but not this time, lol. That's why I was so stoked about finding that waterproof efile, lol. I know it doesn't make sense to a lot of people, but with someone like me who spills everything, it's an amazing thing, lol.

Ahh, acrylic is my first love, but I love all mediums, and if I'm being honest, I probably use polygel/hybrid gels the most these days. Acrylic is so much fun once you get the hang of it. My best advice for acrylic if you start to learn is to make sure to have a good brush because a crappy one will definitely make it frustrating! Let me know if you need any help with anything also if you do start to try it out. I have a few tricks that will help make things a little easier than I wish I would have known when I was learning.

Help with the JelloJello peeps off I coat my names first with a non peel base coat and THEN I coat the JelloJello on top of a normal gel base one that you like and works well for you… I have also use base jell the 1 coat of hard gel and THEN the Jello Jello on top and it works Great it protects your nails 💅 try it mate it works just take a little trial and error to see what Gel Base works best for you under the JelloJello…. And like you I am acrylic ❤ trained and my first love but of course moved into gel ( for the 2nd time I am sure you remember when gel tried to come into the market back in the early 90’s LOL 🙄😂and fibreglass as they would call it Haaaaa! Then silk wraps nothing is New LOL
Question would you consider having some items available in an online shop that we outside of the USA can not get…. I will definitely give that a try with the Jello Jello peel off, I gave it a couple of good stories when I first tried it but I didn't try it with any type of base under it actually which is a great idea. I think I had gotten so frustrated with it, and it was not working for me like it was for a bunch of other people (I felt left out lol) that I just gave up on it. I'll purchase it again and definitely give it another shot. Maybe it will be a little different this time around using your tricks. With doing it that way, are you able to wear them for a few days and then easily peel them off?
You know what's hilarious, I just pulled some silk wraps out the other day after not having thought about them for years, so it's so funny you just said that, haha.
I've actually had several people now ask about a shop for those of you outside of the US. I would need to get shipping figured out or only offer certain things because unless I was to get insured as a small business to be able to ship flammable things over seas. As things progress, I will absolutely keep it in mind, though, and will absolutely take you up on your help if/when I do something like that!

Born pretty peel off base. You have to soak your nails for 5 mins in warm water. I use it and find it works great

@teathersboujeenailstuff I understand completely! Salons are all about getting people in and out as fast as possible. There are some salons that are PHENOMINAL, but those ones you're going to pay an arm and a leg for any kind of Manicure. Sh*t, you'll pay an arm, leg, a kidney, and probably a couple of fingers now, lol. It's getting a little ridiculous with how expensive things are.

Heck yes! I love weighted brushes. They feel wayyy better in my hand than the lighter ones do. Just more comfortable. I have all of them and then like 3 back ups of each because I love them so much. And the crystal at the end... WTF? It's so cute! Xoxo
The gold back really makes a difference in the brilliance, doesn't it? I do love AB best, I am a sucker for that color shift they have. I got some pink rhinestones and don't use them much... not that I do a lot of stones, especially in summer. I get more into it in autumn/winter for some reason. I love the aurora stones in cold weather cos they remind me of ice. haha! I'm a simple person. lol This really reminds me of some of the Korean nails with the super bling! So pretty and grab the light so well.
So, with rhinestones, it's really more about the cut, in my opinion, anyway. 2088 is going to be the most brilliant then 2058 and then 2000. It's very confusing because now a lot of the more expensive ones have silver backing also and some have white too. From my experience years ago when there wasn't as many brands and options, it used to be that gold backs were very good quality, but I look for cut now instead of keeping my focus on backing, thats why i have them all mixed together. The cut of them is what really matters. There are some I've gotten off of Amazon that rival the expensive ones I have.
The Aurora ones are amazing, and I've really taken a liking to the mocha ones now, too. I like how you can she the facets of light inside of the stones. I'm trying to get more into doing super fun things because normally, I'm pretty damn boring, lol.

These turned out amazeballs, I use Makartt peel off base, but I also put a thin coat of builder gel first then my peel off because I have the same issue as you with thin nails & that helps alot when removing a set

These aren't half as AMAZEBALLS as you are! I actually think I have the makartt one still! I forgot about that one! I'll have to see if I can find it in this DISASTER of a room. I have so much stuff everywhere because I'm trying to redo all of my drawers and organize things a little differently. I do remember that one being great when I used it last year.
As far crystals and things on your nails, this might sound super strange, but I do it from time to time, especially when I'm doing bigger things... I do a very thin coat of polygel (that way it doesn't flood or move around a ton) and don't cure and then go over that with a no wipe top coat and then apply your crystals/stones/charms. With the layer of polygel being thin, you don't have to worry about it moving or squishing all over the place, and it fills in gaps, so theres no edges or creases for hair to get stuck. It takes a little practice, but it absolutely helps, but also, have you tried LGN pros bling it gel? There's also no wipe 3d/chrome gel that I use sometimes too for charms because it's very thick and doesn't move around. I have the gellen one right now, and that one works very well for charms and stones. You can always email me also, and I can send you short little videos showing things if that's easier for you!

Hey, Haley!!! Thank you for sharing your application. I really appreciate it. Do you have any suggestions for sticky acrylic nails? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. After the nail hardens it's tacky.
Heyyy!!! First, let me ask if you're using a low/no odor monomer? Some monomers actually have a reaction where they create a dispersion layer just like gel does. I've found it's usually the low odor or no odor ones that do this. Let me know what brand you're using when you get the chance. But It is completely normal, and you're not doing anything wrong at all. It should file off and then be hard under that layer. I use 80 grit files for acrylic and those types of monomers. One side I will use for that dispersion layer and then the other side I use for shaping and filing, sucks because you'll want to trash your hand file after filing each time but you're absolutely not do8ng anything wrong at all. It's definitely the monomer! Let me know when you get the chance about the brand. I appreciate you very much! Xoxo

Honestly, I've had it about a year and have a different one now. It doesn't seem to have the power anymore that it did when I first got it. If you can catch it on sale, it would be worth buying, but like I said, it's only lasted me a year and seems to be going out. I do have the lavinda one, and it works VERY well. The lavinda one isn't the quietest, but none of them are, really. I would absolutely recommend the lavinda one over this one.

That is Queen gel from enail couture. The other one I use is LGN pro bling it gel 😀 both are super thick and no wipe. I hope this helps! Xoxo
