This video is bringing me nostalgia as somebody who used to compete in these tournaments just watching the demo teams doing their moves

Love this!!! Would you mind telling me if the music you used was already created and who did it? Would love to use something similar for a team.

How is this different from competitive cheer leading?

    • @gaywads8580

This is actually *heavily* different, as this takes many months of practice, and aswell the forms are either traditional or XMA, as they are. The big sticks, also boa-staffs are *very* hard to learn, as their is a specific way you hold, manuver, and handle them.

I laugh that they call this martial arts. Its a dance routine. I actually was at this same gym when I was a kid and left because it was the biggest McDojo

@@MrGatorrHD this is the creative form of martial arts. Obviously, the maneuvers you see in this performance are not actual real life scenarios a martial artist would use in a self- defense situation. This is a means of creativity and competition.

@@ABrown-sn2xx Like I said before, I used to go to this gym and they advertise it like its self defense. They would teach us "moves" for stranger danger that were the stupidest things ive ever seen in my life. No kid goes to a martial arts academy looking for "creativity"

@@MrGatorrHD you're not getting it. This is a separate nature from that of actual self defense type of martial arts. The student can join this creative side of martial arts at HIS/HER own desire; if they don't want to join, then said student can stick to the actual self- defense based nature. Like I mentioned previously, this part of martial arts is not meant to be for actual self defense scenarios but for "show" as you can clearly see above. In other words, this creative form of martial arts is optional. Martial arts does not HAVE to be strictly about self- defense, it can be fun and for competitive demonstrational purposes as well.

    Martial arts is becoming dance?

SalFocus shut up the flips are for tricking and they look better in forms. I have done martial arts for 5 years and have won 15 tournaments, trust me this is not dancing at all.
