As a survivor of child SA, I really appreciate that Hollyoaks is tackling a story about a historic case instead of rehashing a grooming storyline like they did with Cleo McQueen. People need to see that something which happened a long time in the past can affect a person's present as if it only occurred yesterday. Anything can trigger a flashback and you can find yourself reliving moments you wished never to think of again faster than you can even compute that it is happening. Frankie is clearly dealing with a lot of subconscious trauma, which is probably why she acts the way she does. The bluster and attitude is a mask to hide how vulnerable her experiences have made her. Regardless of Jack's innocent intentions, he accidentally triggered one of these flashbacks for Frankie and she has fallen into the vicious cycle of trying to cope with being unable to deal with the root of the problem. This storyline is such an important one and I hope the fans can look past the misunderstanding with Jack and see Frankie for the scared and emotionally scarred young girl that she is. This isn't about her being vindictive or manipulative. It's about her being the victim of manipulation and being unable to recognise the difference between a good touch and a bad touch in her emotional state of distress.
Jack has always been a caring, lovable character, he’s one of the people you’d turn to if you need help, he would never harm a fly. His character was even a police officer decades ago, he’s a good man.
idk if you have seen it but jj her twin is the one who is actually abusing her and he did by dancing with her so she got triggered and though jack was doing the same
I think she was abused by one of her mother's ex-boyfriends and ended up suppressing it. The show is showing how this aspect of triggers and dissociation works in victims. But.... she needs to see a psychologist urgently to recognize and treat this. What she did to Jack was very bad. And she accused him of something very serious that could make people see him forever as a pervert.

Jack is absolutely innocent. We all saw what went down in the scene. Plus it’s Jack. But I don’t think Frankie is just being mean or a brat. I think the dancing triggered something for her. The fear she is expressing seems real and is coming from some place. With her mom seeming to have all sorts of issues and possibly having lots of men around it just would make sense that something may have happened to her. I hope they figure out what it is so she can get help. And definitely so Jack can come home. I feel really bad for him.

The irony is that due to Francine making a false allegation that when/if the real person who sexually assaulted her gets brought to trial then he will probably be found not guilty due to Francine having given herself a history of making false allegations.

I actually like the aspects in this scene. I like Nancy supporting Frankie cause not only is she is safeguard, but she was also a victim a sexually assault. I also like how she picked up on signs that something wasn't right in Frankie's accusation against Jack. Something tells me that Frankie was sexually abused by her mother's boyfriend but was unable to get justice and now she's taking it out on Jack. Although that is wrong, I do feel for her. If that's the case, I hope she gets help. Also, shame on Darren for not being there to support his daughter and shame on Suzanne for not informing him of what happened when it did!

There is something very off putting about using such heavy storylines and plots with characters that are barely known and have little to no connection to the audience all while using a legacy character as a lightning rod for false claims/triggers. Hollyoaks once again showing that their writing/character development team is out to lunch.
This show might not handle this issue well that’s true, but what’s really worrying me is the people who watch this show. They are the ones who don’t understand a person/character’s pov and traumas.

Jack did sleep with Cindy’s sister Dawn when she was sixteen and got her pregnant, which of course is shameful but I like to think he’s improved himself since then. Also while Frankie’s character is quite frankly annoyingly rude, I do feel like she’s emotionally confused about this but people need to actually ask her proper questions like where she was touched, this isn’t really handled well.
I'm surprised Dawn wasn't mentioned here in this episode. If I remember correctly she later died of leukemia and Cindy gave birth to Holly on the day of Dawn's funeral. It seems many of the 90's era characters have been largely forgotten.
I think Francine was assaulted in the past so any man who touches her (whether it be in a good way or bad way), it makes her feel uneasy so she experiences flashbacks. This is a common sign of PTSD. She’s confusing genuine kindness with danger which happens all the time with victims, it’s not her fault. Like Jack said, Francine needs psychiatric support. For some reason I think one of Suzanne’s ex-boyfriends did something to Francine and it has scarred her mentally.

She isn't, even before the recent storyline came out, you could see that she had been abused by someone, It Is awful and the small thinks can really hit a nerve. It's possible she reacted that way because she thought he was doing the same thing her brother does. Please don't judge someone without thinking why, it's just a program, but abuse does happen and it does affect you. Trust me, I know.

I have a feeling that one day Paul will come to the village (also be in the opening titles) and he’ll start teaching ballet at Hollyoaks high and he also might have another victim and that might be Leah considering she was taking dancing lessons with Trish (I still kinda miss Jacob and Marco those two were amazing dancers and they would’ve been better teachers for Leah) still if that happens Frankie might warn her about him. There is something very off putting about using such heavy storylines and plots with characters that are barely known and have little to no connection to the audience all while using a legacy character as a lightning rod for false claims/triggers.
Hollyoaks once again showing that their writing/character development team is out to lunch.
This show might not handle this issue well that’s true, but what’s really worrying me is the people who watch this show. They are the ones who don’t understand a person/character’s pov and traumas.
Trauma or not putting your hand in someone’s back is not sexual harassment 🙄

Jack did sleep with Cindy’s sister Dawn when she was sixteen and got her pregnant, which of course is shameful but I like to think he’s improved himself since then. Also while Frankie’s character is quite frankly annoyingly rude, I do feel like she’s emotionally confused about this but people need to actually ask her proper questions like where she was touched, this isn’t really handled well.
I'm surprised Dawn wasn't mentioned here in this episode. If I remember correctly she later died of leukemia and Cindy gave birth to Holly on the day of Dawn's funeral. It seems many of the 90's era characters have been largely forgotten.

I think Francine was assaulted in the past so any man who touches her (whether it be in a good way or bad way), it makes her feel uneasy so she experiences flashbacks. This is a common sign of PTSD. She’s confusing genuine kindness with danger which happens all the time with victims, it’s not her fault. Like Jack said, Francine needs psychiatric support. For some reason I think one of Suzanne’s ex-boyfriends did something to Francine and it has scarred her mentally.

I think she thinks she's in love with her mum's ex and that's why she's protective of him but projecting onto Jack is beyond a warped way of crying for help but I think she allowed it from her mum's man because she's attracted to him and felt Jack being body to body with her felt grosse because her mum's man probably looks at her same way but she doesn't understand the difference between kindness and someone taking advantage hence the blurred lines

She isn't, even before the recent storyline came out, you could see that she had been abused by someone, It Is awful and the small thinks can really hit a nerve. It's possible she reacted that way because she thought he was doing the same thing her brother does. Please don't judge someone without thinking why, it's just a program, but abuse does happen and it does affect you. Trust me, I know.

Oh for OA’s sake Frankie’s overreacting with Jack he didn’t lay a finger on her also JJ’s “Devereaux 😉” too was on his Sister’s side he too is his Grandfather he wouldn’t hurt a fly. Good thing that Suzanne was there telling Darren about her Ex-Boyfriend Paul and she told him what happened it seems like he was a ballet teacher and he abused her or something. I have a feeling that one day Paul will come to the village (also be in the opening titles) and he’ll start teaching ballet at Hollyoaks high and he also might have another victim and that might be Leah considering she was taking dancing lessons with Trish (I still kinda miss Jacob and Marco those two were amazing dancers and they would’ve been better teachers for Leah) still if that happens Frankie might warn her about him. I really hope Jack will get through this and he won’t suffer from a heart attack again or something and #Dancy won’t break up and Darren won’t sleep with Hannah or Suzanne. 😟🤞🏻

Hannah is Suzanne daughter she was briefly married to Darren Suzanne ended up sleeping with Darren Neville Hannah dad was far from impressed they left for spain later Suzanne arrived back in the village heavily pregnant with Darren twins they were named Jack after Darren dad and Francine after Darren step-mum cindy his girlfriend at the time offered Suzanne money to leave the village she left with his twins leaving him devasted she later returned for her son Rhys's funeral implying she was back with Neville and the twins were starting to walk that is the last she was heard of until now
