- Who else loves a cheesesteak? They are super easy to make and you can out whatever you like on them.
I went with a ribeye, onions, shredded cheese and my AP and Taco seasonings. I normally use provolone but had plenty of shredded cheese leftover so used that instead.
And don’t forget to wrap them in parchment paper at the end. It helps warm up the bun and makes for a much tastier sandwich.

I was in the Phili area recently and tried my first "real" Cheesesteak at a local place. They had a giant pot of hot Cheez Whiz, slather on the bun, then meat, then more Cheez Whiz.
The creamiest, richest sandwich I may have ever had.
So bad for you, but amazingly delicious. I would be 500# if I lived near that place.
People who never had a “Philly” cheese steak will NEVER understand.
I have lived in Philadelphia for 30 years and most of the people here, tell me that they HATE cheese Wiz on their steaks. The common "acceptable" cheese for cheesesteaks, is American.

I have lived in Philadelphia for 30 years. I'm not a native but lived here long enough to know, what natives consider to be an authentic cheesesteak. #1, do NOT use cheese Wiz...the favorite is American and #2, the best roll to use, is from a local, family owned company known as Amoroso. Taco seasoning in the meat ?!😱 Don't think so....usually salt and pepper will do. Sauteed onions, DEFINATELY !!! Sometimes green or hot peppers are added. We have a cheesesteak hoagie, with lettuce and tomato and even a pizza steak with sauce and mozzarella. Cheesessteak toppings can be as varied as those for a pizza, but the basics must not be altered.
Amoroso rolls havent been considered good for at least 10 years. Sarcone's, Liscio's, or Carangi.

As a Philly boy, almost every parr of this is wrong. Its a nice looking steak sandwich, yes. A cheesesteak, it is not.

@TheJMoney427 the bread is too soft, the meat is sliced, not shaved, and the cheese... Well there are many opinions on what is acceptable cheesesteak cheese, but Mexican 4-cheese blend is nowhere in the running. If this is a cheesesteak, so is a flour tortilla filled with ground beef and queso blanco.

Why wouldn’t you put some salt and pepper on the steak and maybe if you wanted some spice and flavor you can put paprika and garlic Powder (taco seasoning is crazy)
