I saw him play at a little fair in Enfield NH in the mid eighties, he was a trooper and kept playing long after his Gallup was out of his yodle with the aid of a younger man backing him up, it was great to meet and talk with him.
Pure talent and a voice as clear as a bell. People in the (so-called) music business these days could practice for a hundred years and they still couldn't get within spitting distance of this man's amazing talent!.
I remember when I was kid there was a KENNY ROBERTS show on TV. There were kids as guests. He sang and yodeled and jumped around. I believe his show was on TV in the 1950s.
I was on one of his shows. At the beginning of the show they would have one of the kids in the audience hold a cardboard guitar. I got to hold it once during the opening of the show.
Kenny had more than one local TV show. I don't know about the earlier ones, but I used to watch him on WNEM TV-5 in Saginaw in the early 60's. It was called "The Kenny Roberts Show." Besides his performances, it had cartoons and a small audience of kids. He was known by us then as The Jumping Cowboy.
@@timl.b.2095 Yes, I was on that show twice. Kenny would 'interview' some kids. He asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, 'a man'. He just smiled.
My moms favorite growing up in Greenfield , MA where Kenny was raised. This was his signature song... I remember mom playing his albums all the time. My brother has a photo with him when he was just 4 or 5 years old.
Kenny was filmed singing this in Shelburne Falls, MA (near his hometown) and was included in the documentary called "Country's Reminisce Hitch" (the first six horse hitch to walk coast to coast) in 1993. I was born and raised and still live in Shelburne Falls.
Thank you so much for posting this video!!! Many years ago I discovered this wonderful singer on the web and since then I only found some audios, never a video. Anybody knows if there are any others available? Greetings from Brasil!!
Glenn Johnson Guilherme Tavares,Jasmine Records in Uckfield,Sussex,UK have many tracks available of Kenny Roberts.Go to Google where you will find their full address.I have a number of these.I love performing his songs in my stage show. All the best.
El climbing yodel final es brutal muy similar al de Margo Smith en este tema. El yodel del principio si estuviera mejorado y al final y el climbing al principio del tema sería una brutalidad de tema a la altura de Tennessee Yodelers de Margo Smith.
@marie-hervelinecaron2514 I loved that estate sale! We found great homes for lots of it! We actually just started filming our estates again so people can see them quicker. I'm all over New England
This is hands down the wildest yodel recording I have seen.

Wish i can sing like that , thats talent and effort that just ain't around anymore

Aún así es muy bueno. En hombres es el único equiparable a Margo Smith en USA.
Wish to live in that Era 😭
My favorite from Kenny Roberts..."I Never See Maggie Alone". I wonder if it is on RUclips?

Geez, is that Hoss Cartwright in the audience at the end?
I had to go back and take a look-see! You're right, the fella in the audience on the left looked just Hoss!
woohoooooo
just wow that guy can yodel
Elton Britt could never compete with this great guy😉
Of course in those days we didn't realize that 'yodel' was a euphemism for oral sex. Kenny you old dog, you!
Glenn Johnson Guilherme Tavares,Jasmine Records in Uckfield,Sussex,UK have many tracks available of Kenny Roberts.Go to Google where you will find their full address.I have a number of these.I love performing his songs in my stage show. All the best.
Wow
So funny, I can’t stop laughing
Says he'll teach us to yodel, proceeds to showoff
When you stepped on legos!!
...and later went on to be 500CC world Motorcycle grand Prix champion.
Good luck singing this song in karaoke box

Yodes while you have sex? Lmao
bio auto tune?
It is not autotuned. Autotune wasn't even invented then and no real musician uses it.
Kenny or Frank??? I just don't know
El único capaz de igual a la reina Margo Smith cantando este tema. El mejor Yodeler estadounidense es Kenny Roberts.
I defy the other musicians to keep up 😆
I can't tell if this is a copy of a rip-off of ..Frank Ifield - She Taught Me To Yodel
Great song love it. I love Country Music but this is why County Music became a laughing stock around the world because of the outfits.
I agree, I love Country Music but those outfits where terrible.
@@michaelelsy2209 You agreed with yourself?
These jackets with sparkling cacti is style if there ever was one you noob.
@@miguelbranquinho7235 I hadn't realised I'd done that 🤣🤣.
He doesn't really teach does he. He displays
Can't match Slim Whitman!
Argh! Argh! Vandlism of music. Facepalm. Someone put him out of his misery
Who's the nerd trying to yodel along at 0.50 then 0.75 speed at ungodly hours? Not me, man. Not me. 🥺
One day I'll get it. 🥲
