Roy Cadman, incredible man who helped change history for ever. Lord Lovat was one of the few who lead his men into the beach on D-Day, his Piper Bill Millin from Glasgow, Scotland by his side. In the face of flying bullets and utter carnage, others ran for cover in order to survive, but not Millin, he did as he was told and just stood there playing his pipes. Millin returned to Normandy every 6th June for over 50 years to play his pipes and remember those who fell in France, After 8 years of poor health, he died in 2010 and now has his own statue on Sword Beach Normandy, he makes me so proud to be Scottish.
Respect ❤️. I could listen to these gentleman’s stories all day long. I wish at school we were taught more about the 2 world wars instead of Tudor’s & Stewart’s. People could learn a lot from these gentleman and their humbleness.
My late mother loved the 'pipes' - as do I. My late father, however, hated them! Seems he used to have some bloke on his mess-deck (WWII Royal Navy) that spent much of his off-watch time playing(!) a Chanter (the finger holed part of the Bagpipe). LOL
I like this old boy if the English establishment were made up of this type of person in charge Scotland wouldn't be going Independant. Scotland will offer friendship to England once Independent and hope a redefined relationship will lead to greater respect and friendship
Oh how big of you! Just remember that when "this old boy" plus Lord Lovat, Bill Millin and countless other ordinary patriotic Scots were risking their lives with their fellow Britons, your SNP scum were cosying up to the people they were fighting.
@@johnkirky1288 Yes it was. It even won a bye-election during the war. And its leader Douglas Young even went to prison for campaigning against Scots being conscripted to fight in what he called "England's War." His supporters would serenade him with bagpipes from outside Saughton Prison's walls. What does the Horst Wessel Song sound like on the pipes, eh?
@@postscript67 yes horst wessel was a nazi party song as young was a presbyterian it fits with their teachings he did go to prison for none conscription although the snp on establishment in 1934 pledged not to conscript except by a scotish government the SNP are a totally diffrent party now

I'm just begining my journey on the pipes, hope someday to be one of the greats.
It's a long noble journey you'll not regret but you'll need to practice hard, aim for perfection in each note and movement and never give up..
Advice to live by.......
